Loved our ride with Blue Hawaiian!! Although we felt a little woozy by the end, it was SO worth it. I work at a pediatric hospital and asked our helicopter pilots who they recommended in Hawaii and they said "Blue Hawaiian" without hesitation for safety ratings and experience. Our pilot was great - super knowledgable! And the sweet lady who prepared us for our ride was outstanding. I loved her energy. On the ride itself, we got SO close to cliffs and waterfalls, it literally felt like a movie. Would 100% book again with Blue Hawaiian!

We flew over Kaui and experienced breathtaking views. Loved every minute of it!
Fabulous, as always!! Our pilot Isaiah was so informative and personable and answered all our questions. He was a delight! So love flying over the Garden Isle!! We’ll be back for sure!! Thanks again. Robyn and Nancy from Colorado
Great trip! We covered almost the entire island. The pilot was great narrator, the helicopter was comfortable and we all had great views.
Steve was our pilot and being this was my first time in a helicopter I was very nervous. He made me feel very assured we were very safe. This trip was worth every penny. This company is a little more money but you will not be sorry to spend the extra. The sites, the information given and even his play list was perfect!!!
This was great, but a couple of things to note. - if you get there early, you can potentially purchase premium seats next to the pilot. We arrived an hour and 10 minutes early, but people were already there and had already done this so if you really want front seats, get there really early. The helicopter seats six so if you are a party of two, you don’t know who you’re going to be in the helicopter with. Which brings me to my next note. - The other party that we were with was a party of three people and one of the guys was a bit obnoxious. They sell a video at the end of your experience and of what you talk about on the tour and your views from outside the helicopter, and if we had purchased a video, it would’ve been a running commentary of this guy asking how much would it be to charter from this place or that place. And also asking what kind of fish were in a school of fish hundreds of feet below that literally nobody could answer. This is in no way of fault of the company, but just to make you aware of other parties that you could be a part of and if you really want to front seat to get there super early. Overall good experience we just got unlucky with another party. And when I say another party, just one boomer. Thank you to our pilot for his patience.
Do not book this unless you are into giving Trip Advisor $80 for absolutely nothing. Just go to Blue Hawaiian Helicopters and book it direct. I just had an online chat with someone associated with Trip Advisor as I am a long time member and it went nowhere unfortunately. Btw, it is an outstanding tour!
Must do experience, such a diverse island that can really only be appreciated by air. Smooth flight, great narration by our pilot Alex as we traversed the island. Definitely the highlight of our Hawaiian holiday.
We absolutely loved this once in a lifetime experience! Do not miss the opportunity to see Kauai from the sky! Blue Hawaiian and our pilot Amy were fantastic guides, ensuring guests felt comfortable and fully able to focus on the views.
Truly spectacular! Well worth the money. One of the best experiences of my life. Stunning beauty. Great pilot who was very knowledgeable and experienced. Felt safe.
This tour does come with a hefty price tag so it is hard to know if it is “value” for money but I can guarantee you will love the views and flight itself - if your in a position to do it I would recommend. We had some weather issues so it was actually cancelled two days in a row and they leave it up until 15minutes prior which is the pilots call so if you have a longer stay I would recommend booking it at the start so you have afew days up your sleeve if it gets cancelled. We were 3rd time lucky and it was epic! Beautiful views, waterfalls, ocean, craters everything you see in the photos. Pilot was professional and friendly and made us feel safe. We didn’t pay for the upgrade to the front seats and ended up getting them anyway - great result but the view from the back I believe it still great. Another $300 ontop of an expensive trip adds up. We had afew clouds and was still breathtaking. Best scenic flight tour I’ve done in the world!!
Beautiful, professional, and safe. The perfect helicopter tour!! Would highly recommend to anyone!!!
Everything was EXCELLENT! I literally called while aboard our noisy cruise ship 10 minute tinder ride, booked flight for a family of 6, gave my credit card and got my email confirmation before boarding the ship. Arrived early as requested, weighed in, confirmed credit card and ID, watched the safety video and boarded. Flight was thrilling, pilot was perfect, views were spectacular. Highly recommend. Worth the price.
Our family had an amazing experience on the Kauai Eco Adventure Helicopter Tour. We traveled with our 4‑year‑old toddler, and he absolutely loved the ride — taking in the views with excitement until he eventually fell asleep mid‑flight. The tour itself was breathtaking, with stunning scenery and a smooth, comfortable ride throughout. The crew was friendly, professional, and made us feel safe the entire time. Overall, it was a wonderful experience for both adults and kids, and a highlight of our trip to Kauai.
First helicopter ride-felt safe. Enjoyed the sites of Waimea Canyon and coastline. However our experience did not meet the value for the price paid. Had 2 tall passengers that were over 240 pound weight limit -they were put in front seats, blocked our front view totally. The side view had reflection of the lady’s bare arm with bra strap showing and appeared in all pictures. She also suffered motion sickness during the flight. The trip is videoed and was unable to enjoy watching due to the filming of her sickness. Felt robbed of getting to fully take in the beauty and enjoyment that we were seeking.
Expensive but great experience. Views of the island were incredible
It was Amazing! If you like heights, I would definitely recommend. Steve our pilot was Awesome. My husband and I started our morning with a helicopter tour ride celebrating our 25th Anniversary 💕🌸
This was the highlight of our Hawaii cruise and worth every penny. The views of Kauai, the Na Pali Coast, waterfalls, and canyons were absolutely breathtaking. Our entire family loved it. Our pilot, Steve, was fantastic. He was knowledgeable, professional, and did a wonderful job pointing out landmarks and sharing information throughout the flight. As someone who is nervous about flying, I especially appreciated how calm and confident he was. He completely put me at ease and allowed me to enjoy the experience. My only minor criticism is the check-in process. We were asked to arrive an hour early, but after being weighed and watching a brief safety video, there was a lot of waiting around, and our flight ultimately departed about 30 minutes late. It wasn’t a big enough issue to affect our enjoyment of the tour, but I think the arrival time could be shortened or the communication improved. Overall, this was an unforgettable experience and a true bucket-list activity. We would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting Kauai.
Very exciting, indeed! Some of the most spectacular scenery anywhere!! Our pilot was very knowledgeable about the island.
A beautiful experience. The beauty of Kauai ws definitely experienced by helicopter. Wish that our pilot was a little more experienced and communicative.
Great for the whole family!! Little kids might fall asleep! You learn a lot and can see every part of the island!!
A great flight over Kauai! Our pilot showed us all the highlights of the island....lots of waterfalls, the canyon and the beautiful shorelines. We did this tour on our first day on the island so we got ideas about where we wanted to explore during the remainder os our stay.
Seeing Kauai from the air is amazing. While it is expensive, it is worth every penny. I'm not going to lie, I find being in a helicopter alittle scary, but everyone should see Kauai like this.
An incredible once in a lifetime experience. Our pilot Duke did an amazing job taking us to spots on Kauai one cannot see by any other means. He was super smooth in the operation of the helicopter and very informative in narrating to us what we were looking at as well as the history of the island. My wife and I both came away awe inspired by the beauty we saw. All of the Blue Hawaiian team at the terminal were super friendly. I highly recommend this tour. It is truly special.
Friendly and professional staff. Spectacular beatiful scenery. Really enjoyed it. BTW, take a Uber there. Nice and easy.
Great experience that was made even better by our pilot Marshall. Great way to view the island of Kawai from otherwise inaccessible means.
I’ve done helicopter tours before that had me feeling motion sickness. Blue Hawaiian not the case. Alex was our pilot and he was an exceptional pilot! Very smooth and knowledgeable. Highly recommend
Amazing experience. Felt completely safe and that safety was the highest priorty the entire time. Pilot had a wonderful, calming playlist and talked us through everything we were seeing, while also allowing plenty of space for our family to converse.
Great trip, pilot was fantastic, felt very safe on this tour. You will get the best views of Kawaii on this tour!
Staff was very professional, friendly and courteous. They made everyone in our party feel comfortable. Our pilot, Robby, was excellent; not only as a pilot but as a tour guide. The views are amazing and something you won’t get from the ground. I highly recommend taking this tour!
This experience in my opinion was a “must do”. Our pilot, Steve was very knowledgeable and pointed out many points of interest (as well as playing a great musical soundtrack). I highly recommend this company. They were very professional
We had our tour with another company cancel on us 30 minutes before our reservation but Blue Hawaiian was able to book us for a couple hours later and we went with Chewie. He was absolutely incredible! Super informative, really friendly, the music was great, absolutely a must-do with this company!
We had a great experience. They communicated regularly leading up to the trip to ensure we ready. The staff is very professional and friendly. They take safety seriously and make sure you will enjoy your tour. Our pilot was great and provided great commentary.
Blue Hawaii Adventures was a great way to see the entire island from the air. From "Jurassic Falls" to Waimea Canyon to the Na Pali coast the scenery is spectacular. Our pilot was easy going and friendly, providing just the right amount of information while playing the perfect background music for our flight. Our group would highly recommend this tour!!
Our eco adventure helicopter ride was breathtakingly beautiful and so very worth it! We boarded in Lihue and all the Staff were so friendly and helpful. Steve, our pilot, did a fantastic job narrating what we were seeing. We were incredibly blessed to see an abundance of waterfalls and a huge rainbow since it had heavily rained the day before. We flew into the dormant (extinct?) volcano and saw the majesty of God’s creation across the entire island. We did take non-drowsy Dramamine beforehand and didn’t experience any motion sickness so would highly recommend doing that. In the high winds we were glad we paid to be in the bigger enclosed helicopters that Blue Hawaiian uses rather than skimping on a smaller or no-doors version. If you’re considering it, go for it!
I would've given less stars, but our pilot, Steven, and the flight itself was spectacular. Steven was very enthusiastic and excited to share the island of Kauai with us. We got to see incredible views of Kauai, including some places that are only accessible by helicopter, like the Jurassic Park waterfall. However, I can't ignore the customer service I received prior to the flight. When my family of 5 arrived, the front desk agent was unfriendly. Upon arriving less than an hour before takeoff, she informed us that since a helicopter holds 6 people, we could either: A) pay $300 extra to fill that seat and be able to "pick our seats" (when in actuality, each person's weight decides our seats), or B) give up that seat to a stranger AND lose the ability to pick where we sit (according to her, which was not true). The way she explained this to us came across as though she didn't care about our situation. Our family decided that since the original cost was high to begin with, it would be outrageous to spend an additional $300. As it turned out, no extra person came onto the flight anyway. In addition, we read online from other reviewers that we should be wearing long-sleeved dark clothing to minimize the reflection in our photos and looking out the window in general. When we showed up wearing these clothes, the workers told us that we'd be hot in the helicopters and we were encouraged to buy $25 black Blue Hawaiian t-shirts, which 3 of us purchased because we were worried we'd be uncomfortable. In reality, the temperature in the helicopter was very comfortable (and you should be wearing long sleeves). Although our experience on the ground wasn't the best, the pilot and flight made up for it, and I would still strongly recommend to take a helicopter tour.
The tour was nice, but the helicopter cabin is filled with oil vapor, so bring a high quality mask for the flight. I was dizzy during and after the tour due to the hot oil and exhaust smell in the cabin. I would choose another operator with higher health and safety standards.
Friendly staff. Experienced pilots. Smooth ride. Great experience . Some of the best views of the island
Put your worries aside and enjoy the ride. The flight is smoother than riding a bus, and the most beautiful views I have ever witnessed. I have flown in several helicopters over the years. I have never had a more enjoyable, professionally run, and stress free flights. I wish I could give Blue Hawaii more stars.
When my guy and I were planning a trip to Hawaii, the helicopter tour was at the top of his list. We had both done this tour before with other people, but this was something we wanted to do together. And since we had both flown with Blue Hawaiian before, we knew that we wanted to fly with them again. We were able to easily book our flights online once we got to the island and looked at the weather for the week. We picked a day that was supposed to be clear and we ended up having a beautiful day. We paid extra for the front seats. I sat next to our pilot Marshall. who was fabulous. My guy sat to my right and had what I thought was the best view in the house. He was able to get lots of beautiful pictures without a lot of glare. Sitting in the middle made it a little bit more difficult for me because I had a lot of glare and a lot of my pictures had the console. I was able to cut a lot of it out, but his pictures were definitely better than mine. I also took a lot of movies and so we opted not to buy the recording that they film for you. On my last trip 15 years ago, I bought the recording and I don’t ever remember opening the CD box. The seating is comfortable, with 2 seats in the front and up to 4 in the back. Everyone wears headsets so you can hear the narration given by the pilot. You also have a mic so that you can ask questions and have a conversation back-and-forth that everyone can hear. That conversation is also part of the recording being done. The flight itself was just under an hour long. It took you all around the island. The views were stunning. My favorites were the waterfalls, also called the Jurassic Falls, and the Nepali Coast. In the helicopter, you get to see so many sides that you cannot see from the or a boat. Yes, it is pricey, but it was definitely worth it. You won’t be sorry spending the money making this memory.
The entire staff was very friendly, knowledgeable and funny. The pilot did an amazing job. Would definitely recommend this tour.
It was a great trip! Alex is a wonderful pilot and a terrific narrator. We enjoyed a lot of views impossible to see on land. We really enjoyed it!
Clean, organized office. Efficient staff preparing for flight. The pilot was informed and pleasant. Very nice experience.
I was terrified to go and it was my idea! lol It was AMAZING! I would go again! Marshall was our pilot and he was fabulous! We felt so safe. All my fears went away as soon as we took off to the Hawaii 5-0 theme! Highly recommend!!
I chose Blue Hawaiian because of past experiences. I grew up going to Hawaii multiple times. When I was young my parents took me and my brother on three Blue Hawaiian tours. From my memory and that of my parents, we remembered the tours to be spectacular. So when it was time for my boyfriend and I to pick a helicopter ride for my boyfriend’s first trip to Hawaii, we went with Blue Hawaiian. We were left with complete and utter disappointment. The tour itself was just okay, very short and bumpy. I completely understand that weather and wind patterns makes all the difference in your ride and that would be okay if the rest of the experience wasn’t ruined by Blue Hawaiians “policies”. Blue Hawaiian felt the need to charge me over 200 dollars for a “comfort seat” since my boyfriend weighed in at “250 lbs”. Knowing there would be a weight limit my boyfriend weighed himself before he left Pennsylvania- weighing in at 239 lbs. just meeting Blue Hawaiian’s 240 lb limit. The unfriendly, unprofessional and rude attendant at the desk told my boyfriend that he was “ 10 pounds over the limit”. How someone can gain 11 pounds in less than a week is beyond me, but wanting him to have the best experience, we paid the fee. The kicker of this story is that the next day, we went on a mountain tubing excursion, where we needed to be weighed. My boyfriend weighed in at 240 pounds. THE VERY NEXT DAY!! It must be a weight loss miracle straight from God that he was able to lose 10 pounds over night. It’s sickening that Blue Hawaiian feels like they need to take advantage of tourists who just want to see the beautiful island. They should be ashamed that they are tipping their scales to make a few extra dollars when it’s more than a financial stretch to book this tour in the first place. Also, we weren’t shown the number on the scale, we had to take the word of the unpleasant attendant This was supposed to be the highlight of our trip, our biggest expense by far excluding flight and lodging. This excursion ended up being over 1,000 dollars for a 45 minute flight that was not even recorded. With no explanation our flight ended up not being recorded, even though Blue Hawaiian states that every flight is recorded and available for purchase. The same attendant at the desk had no explanation or empathy for the couple who took no pictures at all during their tour, having prepaid for the recording. I did reach out to Blue Hawaiian’s email about my experience and concerns, and received no response. My advice to anyone looking for a helicopter tour, especially someone who is heavier, is to FIND A DIFFERENT COMPANY! Blue Hawaiian only cares about money and scamming tourists.
Cancelled flight after we check in and safety video, appalling service. Wasted $65 of taxi ride to get there from hotel, even got an sms to tell us to come on time for check in
This was an amazing tour. Isiah, the pilot, was extremely knowledgeable of the area and answered all of our questions. I recommend this as a must do in Kauai!
Blue Hawaiian Helicopters - Kauai Professional pilots and breath taking views. Highly recommended on your bucket list. the island is stunning from the air. upgrade to front seats
A helicopter flight over Kauai was the highlight of my first trip to Hawaii several years ago, so I wanted to share the experience with my wife. We flew with Blue Hawaiian Helicopters. The scenery was just as beautiful as I remembered, and my wife enjoyed it as much as I did. Everything about the flight ran smoothly, like clockwork. All the passengers on our flight assembled in the small theater for the safety briefing. When our helicopter arrive, all six of us lined up on our spots marked with the numbers of our seat locations. Thanks to this lineup, the crew was able to get us into our seats quickly, in a way that no one had to climb over anyone else. It was so much more pleasant than the chaotic way that we board airliners! The smoothness continued through the flying of our pilot, Marshall, and through the way that we left the copter at the end of the flight. The careful way that they have organized their flights encourages me to believe that their maintenance and safety processes are just as well carried out. If you are serious about taking photos, I suggest that you do as I did and pay extra to sit up front. To cut down on reflections, follow the standard advice to wear dark clothing. To reduce reflections even more, I used a polarizing filter. Although I have a modest telephoto (200 mm), I got more use from my 18-55 mm zoom.
This was an amazing ride seeing such beautiful scenery up close! The captain explained our sights well and was very personable. The office staff was great. We selected this tour for their safety record. They’re celebrating 40 years in service. My husband was nervous hoing and everyone was very reassuring. Highly recommend!!
