Our day together will start at the Coconut Market Place. Bathrooms and free parking available at this mall.
Our first stop on tour will be in Wailua town. Great and Sacred Wailua was the main religious and political center of the island during ancient times. The Ali'i or royalty resided in this town, and most heiaus (temples of worship) were built here. In this area we will visit Poliahu Heiau, Opaekaa Falls, and Wailua River lookout (largest navigable river in the state) from two different lookouts. As you enjoy the beautiful scenery that surrounds you in every stop, your guide will share the fascinating stories of ancient times, and how the islands have changed in modern times.
Time to take a stroll down the path at beautiful Lydgate Beach Park. Soak your feet in the famous Morgan Ponds, learn about the ancient temple of worship where Hawaiians greeted the rising sun daily, the city of refuge, and more. This is a leisure walk for all age groups. you will have many picture opportunities.
You can't never have enough waterfalls on your vacation. From Wailua town we will head to Lihue town to visit the beautiful and famous Wailua Falls from the famous TV show "Fantasy island" You will have ample time to marvel at this beauty, take pictures, and check out some of the local vendors.
On our way to the Spouting Horn we will drive through the famous Tree Tunnel. Get ready to marvel at the power of nature at this ancient lava tube that became a water blow hole due to erosion caused by ocean waves. We will share the Hawaiian legend tied to this place, sound effects and all.
Lunch will take place in the historic town of Koloa where you will have many food options, from restaurants to food trucks. You will be free to choose what you want. We will spend about 1.5 hours here so you have plenty of time to eat, stroll through this charming plantation town, and do some shopping for locally made souvenirs (optional).
We will visit the lookout for of Kauia's oldest archeological sites located in a breathtaking wild life reserve in Lihue town. As you enjoy the beautiful scenery we will share with you the restoration project that is taking place, the legend of the little people of Hawai'i known as "The Menehunes" who built the pond, and the many Hollywood movies filmed in this area.
Shasta was the best tour guide! I truly loved getting to spend the day learning about Kauai, asking questions, and being with a group that had the same interests. Shasta made the tour fun, exciting, and had amazing recommendations. My favorite stop was Holoholoku Heiau and learning who Ku was. As I was leaving, I found a rock in the shape of a heart. <3

We had the most incredible experience on the Kaua’i Legends Tour, and it was truly made unforgettable by our amazing tour guide-Shasta! From the moment we started, she was so fun, warm, and personable—it felt like exploring the island with a longtime friend. The conversation flowed effortlessly the entire time, filled with local insight, stories, and plenty of laughs. What really set this tour apart were the thoughtful, authentic stops along the way. We got to enjoy fresh coconut and delicious sugarloaf pineapple smoothies from local stands—such a treat and something we never would have found on our own! The scenery was absolutely breathtaking, with stunning waterfalls and gorgeous beach stops that felt straight out of a postcard. One of the biggest highlights was seeing wildlife up close—we were lucky enough to spot monk seals and sea turtles in their natural habitat, which was such a special and memorable experience. This tour was the perfect mix of adventure, relaxation, and genuine connection. If you’re visiting Kaua’i, this is an absolute must-do—and if you’re lucky enough to get Shasta as your guide, you’re in for something truly special!

We recently returned from the most incredible trip to Kauai, and one of the absolute highlights was our tour guide, Cocoa. From the moment we met her, we felt like we were traveling with an old friend. She’s incredibly knowledgeable, passionate about the island, and radiates the kind of aloha spirit that makes Kauai so special.
Highly, highly recommend doing this tour while you are in Kauai! The views were incredible, and not likely to stumble upon on your own. We learned so much about the land and the culture of Kauai. The tour guide, Shasta, absolutely made the experience. She was so kind, very knowledgeable about the sites we were seeing and culture in Hawaii, and hilarious. She was also able to give great recommendations about the island and places to go outside of the tour. This is a family owned and operated business, love to support local! 100/10 recommend!!

We had to reschedule our original tour because the tour guide had a family emergency. Cocoa was fabulous and gracious. They were extremely accommodating and lovely. Instead of getting the small group tour, we got a private tour for our family! Shasta was our tour guide and she was knowledgeable about the history, wildlife, and vegetation grown on the island. So much so that we were able to eat an edible flower off the side of the road! She made a priority to get to know our family and made the trip extra special. We had a delicious breakfast at a Portuguese bakery, food truck fish tacos for lunch, and saw turtles that swam to shore at one of the stops! 🐢. You will never get this kind of tour anywhere else.
We had a great time seeing waterfalls, wildlife, Hawaiin flora, and much more. CoCo was terrific and very knowledgeable, plus so down to earth. Took many great photos and will cherish the memories
My husband and I spent a fun day with Maria on the best of the South and East tour and were able to experience more of the island than expected during our cruise stop. Maria is knowledgeable and entertaining and made us feel welcome from the moment we met her. We enjoyed learning more about the history of the island and seeing the archaeological sites as well as some of the beautiful natural scenery of the island. We also appreciated having some free time for lunch in Koloa, which was adorable and had so many good food and shopping options. We hope to return to Kauai for a proper visit in the future and will definitely arrange more tours with Maria when we do!

Kauai is a paradise gem! This is a great tour to start your vacation, then do everything Coco says. Waterfalls ,mountain vistas, ritual spiritual sites , ocean coves and lots of chickens. Lunch stops -delicious! Coco our guide was amazing. Personable, engaging and incredibly knowledgeable. Wonderful experience. Highly recommend!
I had a bad experience, because they didn't pick me up - I was left waiting at the starting point, until I contacted them after 1 hour. I found out that the trip wasn't going to take place. I lost my last day of activities of my vacation. I was very disappointed. If they had at least notified me in advance, I wouldn't have gotten up early, walked 25 minutes to the meeting, and could have made other plans. I understand that sometimes there are circumstances that happen, but if at least someone had notified me before the appointment, I would have understood it more.
Guide and driver Koko was excellent and knowledgeable. She gave helpful hints. Was still good even in the rain.
The trip was amazing but especially want to give a shout out to our awesome guide Coco Maria who was very attentive, communicative and accommodating from the time of booking until the end. I was a solo traveler but immediately I felt like I was traveling with a group of friends. Great way to experience the wonders of South & East Kawaii. 10 stars!

On this tour we saw amazing sites, but the best part of the tour was our tour guide Coco and the people. It was evident from before the tour that Coco genuinely cared about the experience she provides with detailed information and constant communication. Her van was extremely comfortable to travel in and she provided a small library of literature for anyone interested. She provided water throughout the tour and constantly was checking in with everyone. Along the way, she asked who had already been where and made impromptu adjustments based on what the group wanted to see/do. By the end it felt like a group of friends living out a grand adventure and she offered to contact her anytime for any help/questions we may need on the island. There are not words to adequately describe how great this tour was and I would recommend this tour over any of the bigger/commercial operations. We were truly on Island time and not rushed and it was perfect!
This is our 3rd time traveling with Coco. She was very friendly and her stories were great. We learn new things about Kauai on every visit. We would do another trip with her on our next Kauai vacation.

Coco was the most friendly, knowledgeable tour guide telling legendary stories, fun facts, jokes and answered anything you wanted to know about Kauai. There was not one question left unanswered and she was so lighthearted and funny the entire time. She was patient with my elderly parents, moved at the group’s pace, and did not ever seem bored or hurried in her job. I would not hesitate to recommend her or this tour to anyone coming to Kauai. We saw 2 waterfalls, turtles, monk sea lions, went to a farmers market, ate lunch at an authentic Hawaiian restaurant, had ice cream, shopped a little, and saw many other wonderful sites. We learned a lot about the history of Kauai and our guide Coco, was very knowledgeable and a real delight. Very accommodating to our needs and interests. I would highly recommend this tour!

Actually the whole tour was amazing. We toured all kinds of places and each place had a story behind it to make it just that more enjoyable. Seemed like we toured the whole island but Coco gave us the inside on each every stop. Thoroughly enjoyed everything about this tour.

Our guide Coco Maria, who has lived in Kauai for a long time, was so knowledgeable about the places and history and we really enjoyed her story telling about Hawaiian legends. We saw beautiful waterfalls, unique towns and beaches. One highlight was seeing the sea turtles on the beaches at Poipu. We would really recommend both Coco Maria and her tour!
