Kauai' Exclusive Helicopter Tour: Jurassic Canyon Landing

Beautiful views. Very knowledgeable pilot. Napoli coast was stunning. The flight into the crater of the volcano was a must see.

A fantastic experience. Everything was extremely well organised from start to finish. Everyone was friendly, and everything was explained very clearly. The ground crew, office staff, and pilot were all highly knowledgeable and exceptionally welcoming. I felt welcome, and every detail had been taken care of. The only downside is that you can’t always choose a window seat. That’s a shame, but there are still plenty of opportunities to take photos and enjoy the views.

Well worth the money to have an opportunity to see all of Kauai. I only have one comparison & that would be a 1/2 hour Yellowstone ride that could not enter the park, what a rip off. This was 10 times better for only $60 more per person.

This was the most exhilarating experience. It was absolutely beautiful. Flawless. Captain Aidan was most hospitable and able. My only recommendation would be industry needs to have anti-glare coating on windows.

This was an amazing experience. I preferred having the doors on helicopter ride. We had a fun pilot with a great sound track of music playing when he wasn’t telling us about all the interesting landforms, reefs, waterfalls, etc. This was a fun, professional, safe, company to use at a competitive price too. 👍

I’ll be the first to admit, and I did with the company. that I messed up my booking date. I apologized profusely and asked how I could make it right when the helicopter company representative called me just a few minutes before take off to see if we would make it in time. He repeatedly berated me about making it difficult for the pilot and that other passengers might not get to fly because we didn’t get there in time. We actually happened to be near the airport and I asked where we needed to go and he responded with “down by the helicopter pads, you need to make it by 8.” It was 7:50 and he told me “I don’t know,” when I asked for directions on how to get there and then told me he had to go and would call me right back. It’s now the next day, I haven’t heard from them at all. I never asked for a refund or free rebooking, I understand that it’s on me for getting my booking date mixed up, but a little kindness and compassion goes a long way, the guy didn’t need to be so rude.

Our pilot was Evan. Friendly, funny and very informative. If you think the scenery from the ground is incredible, wait till you see it from above. If your on the fence, as one of my group was, GO! You won't regret it.

What a great experience seeing Kauai from the sky! We saw the Na Pali coast the day before on raft tour, but seeing it from above was an incredible perspective. We also enjoyed all of Waimea Canyon from above as hiking it was not a desirable. So many waterfalls were on the tour. We could experience the peak of the volcano that created the island and the contrasting lush and drier side. Our pilot was courteous and informative as well as the staff. Our family felt completely safe! Highly recommend this tour! But everyone needs to wear dark long sleeve clothing so arms and shirts don’t reflect in the windows and your pictures!

Excellent! We had super weather which helped with a smooth ride and great views. The staff and facilities are all professional and I would recommend this to anyone. I felt safe, too. They were great with our kids as well.

Excellent views of the island with spectacular Napali coast mountains and waterfalls. Awe inspiring! The ride was calm and pleasant and the pilot was a good tour guide.

We just loved the tour. We try to book a helicopter tour whenever we travel to Kauai and I think this was the best. We saw all the sights and waterfalls that you can imagine, but landing in the canyon and walking around was a bonus. Our pilot was fantastic and the whole Safari crew was friendly and helpful. What a great experience. It was cool seeing some of the sites like the Wailua waterfall from the air that we visited earlier by car. The view of the coast was spectacular! Everyone at Safari was great. The pilot was professional and gave us info along the way. Although pricey, this was well worth it. We’re already talking about doing it on the big island next trip.

There may be a reflection or glare on the window preventing the perfect picture. If you have a camera with a polarized lens bring it.

I was stuck in the middle back seat, I saw the backs of heads and some doors foemr 45 min. No landing no jurassic falls nor did we land at robinson ranch the “change” was not weather related. I watched them lie to a small group about weight and laugh afterword. When i questioned them they smugly said “good luck with getting a refund”

I was so disappointed. My guide was just boring. We flew around in a cramped little helicopter and he barely spoke. The guy next to me and I kept asking questions, which he answered, but that was about it. We ended up on the side of the helicopter that saw everything after the fact - we mostly didn't know what we were seeing. The tour promised 50 minutes, but we were back in 25. For such an expensive tour, I expected a lot more.

We scheduled for Tuesday morning to go at 7am, they called 2 days before and told me they had to switch to Monday at 2pm, this was very inconvenient for our scheduling, then Monday they called and told me they didn't have the helicopter to land in canyon. Then called while I was on the way and I had to hurry and meet at the helipad. Very unorganized, the pilot did not talk very much not a lot of information about the sites, would not recommend safari tours to anyone.

Just do it. Most amazing, breathtaking views. This was everyone’s favorite activity. Jim, or guide was great. Very knowledgeable and always checking in to make sure everyone was doing good.

My husband, me, son- in-law and 3 grandkids (9, 13 and 15) took this helicopter tour. Phenomenal as we skirted over treetops and into the valleys of the island. A highlight was landing in a canyon and getting out to walk around. Highly recommend!

It was a rainy day, so did not get to land. Got an immediate refund. The flight itself was amazing, our pilot Steve, took us over the canyon, showed us many waterfalls, some rainbows. The flight was super smooth, and even the people that sat in the middle had good views. Mary gave us a good safety instruction, and was very nice

We left in the first tour of the day at 0800, I’d suggest an early trip as clouds set in later in the day. It was a fantastic tour and the pilot was amazing.

This is the best way to explore the island. Our pilot, Steve, made our flight fun and educational. We learned of the history and geography of this beautiful paradise. Meeting Keith was a pleasure and an unexpected bonus. The entire staff made this experience the best thing we did during our vacation. Thank you!

Fantastic views from the sky. Awesome views from the canyon rim. Only helicopter service that offers the landing on the crest. And our pilot and historian Bordy gave us a detailed narrative story of the Kauai volcanos. Worth the trip

First of all, as an OSHA Instructor, the Safari team takes the safety of every passenger seriously. Our pilot Brody checked on everyone throughout the flight to ensure everyone was comfortable. This excursion is a must for a bucket list. Smooth take off and landing, no fear required with this team, your in good hands. The pilot instilled complete confidence. It was the highlight of our Kauai trip. We loved it. Beautiful! The views were amazing and it is the only way to really see Kauai.

Amazing experience! Our first helicopter tour and Jim was an ama,ingredient pilot. Smooth flight, great tour guide, jokes, music and trivia knowledge were on point! The team member that transported us to and from the airfield was also wonderful! Overall, Amazing experience with photos and videos to last a lifetime!! Note to future travelers: they recommend wearing dark clothing, in part so that you get better views from inside the helicopter. White/light shirts reflect terribly. The couple in the front seats of our flight wore all white, and it was quite disruptive to a few videos/photos. Just a reminder to be thoughtful for others as well!

Incredible trip! We took our five year old and she had a blast! The entire staff was incredibly friendly. Would absolutely recommend. Being able to get out on the private reserve to take in the beauty of Waimea canyon was an unbelievable experience. There are so few opportunities in life to truly experience awe, and the island of Kauai gives many. Such a treat.

If we could give them zero stars we would. We've tried using them on two trips and both times communication was difficult. They were unorganized and we wasted a half a day going there to only have the trip cancelled both times. While each time we could see from out hotel flight after flight going overhead. Definitely do not waste your time. There is a great professional operator (Blue H) at the airport that runs on time and the tour is great.

Such a great tour. Well run. Everyone is real nice. Landing on top of canyon for pictures is a real bonus!! I think this is a must.

The entire flight was unbelievable. Views were absolutely incredible and the pilot was very good at keeping the heli at the best angles for all passengers to get the best possible looks at- and photos of- all of the scenery. The canyon landing was fun and the view the lookout was worth more than the price of the entire adventure. This flight is an absolute must do; absolutely worth the price. I had high expectations and they were far surpassed. I’ll add a couple photos but no cell phone can possible capture the beauty that you’ll see with your own eyes on this tour.

I don't even have the words to describe how amazing it was to fly into the Olokele Canyon. One of the experiences that was so beautiful and unique that you had to pinch yourself to realize it was real. Our pilot was amazing and informative. Everyone in our party felt safe. Today, we had the most amazing helicopter tour with Safari Helicopters. It started with a brief 5-minute safety video that outlined how to properly board and exit the helicopter, as well as emergency procedures. Julian, a wonderfully energetic and down-to-earth guy, then drove us to the helipad where he shared some information about the company’s history and introduced us to the pilot who would be flying us. He was also there when we returned from our tour, enthusiastically taking photos for everyone. In the helicopter, Brody was our pilot and guide. A man who truly loves sharing the island’s history, he was easy to talk to and made us feel relaxed and comfortable. He showed us the entire island, which was simply the most incredible sight we have ever seen. The flight itself was a joy. Great tour with closeup views of Kauai’s top attractions. Staff was very accommodating despite a third party error. Be careful to read all the restrictions. Our third party misstated weight limits which caused problems. Safari’s staff worked to resolve the issue and was able to make it work.

We were able to see parts of Kauai we never would be able to on foot! The views were stunning, the staff was exceptionally friendly, and the ride was very smooth and safe! I'd recommend the tour to anyone.

It was an amazing, very memorable helicopter ride. We got to see the whole island of Kauai, into Waimea Canyon, along Napali Coast and everything in between. All the spots you can only reach by air. Our pilot explained a lot and shared insightful stories. You could feel his passion for the job and love for the island. We were extremely happy to have chosen one of the few remaining family owned helicopter businesses. They went above and beyond to accomodate us and make this flight enjoyable and unforgettable. INCREDIBLE!!! Our pilot, Jonathan Howard ("Howie") was second to none and gave us the ride of a lifetime. Apparently he also is a part time dj so his soundtrack was fantastic as well. Can't recommend this company highly enough. More time than the others and a more reasonable price as well. Do a helicopter ride and use this company. You will absolutely love it.

We LOVED this excursion. Brody was a great pilot and the views were spectacular. We landed during the trip and were able to take in the canyon area. Loved flying close to the Napali Coast. So beautiful! Ride was smooth and comfortable and everyone could see. Highly recommend.
