Join a two-hour shore snorkel at South Poipu, led by a certified guide. After check-in, receive a safety briefing and snorkel lesson. Enter the water directly from the beach and spend up to one hour exploring calm reefs, observing tropical fish, sea urchins, and the occasional green sea turtle or monk seal. You’ll learn about Hawaii’s marine ecosystem, local species, and conservation practices as you swim. All gear is provided; flotation available for beginners. Please arrange transportation and note that state law requires keeping at least 50 feet from endangered wildlife.
Very informative about the species of fish. Saw tons of fish that I could identify because of the orientation. Had an absolute blast. I saw more fish than I have ever before and a variety. The eel was terrifying!

Brett the guide was wonderful. As an older person with limited snorkeling experience I felt safe and very comfortable. I saw 2 turtles, lots of beautiful fish, scuba divers and spear fisherman.
We thought we would be snorkeling at PoipuBeach but instead we’re taken to Kōloa Landing. This was our first time snorkeling. Koloa Landing is a rocky entry where you are going into deep water right away. We thought we would be entering from the beach. The snorkeling was ok at first but then there were lots of swells making seeing anything difficult. We only saw a few small fish. There was a sea turtle but we did not see it. The guide forgot to bring defogger for the snorkel mask which made it difficult to see. Also, due to the swells it was difficult getting out on the sharp rocks and my sister sustained a cut to the bottom of her foot.
It was really fun and a great adventure! Our guide, Sophia, was knowledgeable about the local wildlife and was really chill. It was tiring, but great for anyone active. If you’re planing a trip to Kauai, I highly recommend this snorkeling trip!
Sophie was extremely knowledgeable and friendly throughout the whole tour. Saw some sea turtles and unique fish native to Hawaii. Would recommend for anyone coming to visit Kaua’i. She also gave great food and activity recs around the island that we ended up making a list for! 10/10.
This was my first time back in the ocean since I had a very serious snorkeling accident last summer in Maui; so I was understandably nervous going into it. Our guide handled that incredibly well. She was cautious, attentive, and always aware of where I was and how I was doing, but she never hovered over me or made my nervousness into a big deal. That balance was exactly what I needed. I felt like she was watching out for me without making me feel like I needed to be watched. She made me feel safe and comfortable enough to actually relax, have fun, and enjoy snorkeling again. The whole experience went wonderfully, and by the end I felt confident and genuinely happy to be back in the water. I’m incredibly grateful for how thoughtfully she handled something that was a much bigger deal for me than just another snorkeling excursion. I felt safe, had a great time, and couldn’t have asked for a better experience getting back into the ocean.
Our guide Aastha was amazing and took us to a great spot. Since the hurricane went through one week prior, we were unsure if we would see any sea turtles. However, we saw six and it was amazing. We had a ton of questions and she was very knowledgeable about all of the fish and the sea turtles and answered one of our questions. We would absolutely recommend this tour.
Sophie was a great guide. Once in the water, wow so many fish. Got to see 2 turtles, one was swimming right towards me! Warning though can get nauseated from the waves. It passed for me though.
I wasn’t impressed with our instructor. She was just OK just not overly friendly and helpful. This was my first time so I was a little nervous and overwhelmed with walking down the slippery rocks to get in the ocean. And my mask kept filling up with water and she didn’t help me with it at all. It was just me and one other person. In the ocean was really murky today, so it made the experience not very successful in my opinion. We did see a few small turtles, but it was hard to see anything.
Snorkeling was an amazing experience! Brett was a perfect guide, we all felt very safe and he was super knowledgeable about the area and snorkeling!
My husband is afraid of the water, I made him go and he hasn’t stopped talking about it! He tells everyone how amazing it was! In fact, we’re coming back in September from Utah, and he wants to go back to this exact same company, so we’ll be booking soon! He said the guide was wonderful, she explained things the whole time and knew right where to take them to see turtles!
Excellent knowledge and expertise. Shelby explained everything well, including safety info, directions for water entry and exit, and explaining the different fish, turtles and even pointing them out. There was a float for anyone who felt tired. We saw coral, schools of fish, a sea urchin, and turtles. I liked the beach entry rather a boat. The kids loved it too. It was about an hour in the water and about 30 min for pre snorkel instruction and equipment dispersal/ collection. Efficient, safe, and fun!

Booking was easy. Communication with the staff was quick and helpful. On-site check-in and pre-dive info and safety session was useful and to the point. But the dive itself was amazing. It seemed our group saw almost every sea creature that was mentioned in the info session. Turtles, eels, sea cucumbers, all sizes/shapes/colors of fish, sea urchins…you name it-we saw it. Highly recommend this snorkel tour of Poipu, Kaua’i Happy Diving!
Experience was canceled twice. Now I am having issues receiving a refund. Don’t book through Viator. The cancellations were done last minute. I was on my way to the excursion when I received notice the tour was canceled. Would not recommend using this service.

It was my first time snorkeling and I had some anxiety initially with the breathing apparatus when we were headed out into the water. Luckily we had a small group of 3, but I feel if we had been a group of 30, that Aastha would have been the same cool, calm, and patient instructor that she was regardless. Aastha was amazing and took time to make me feel comfortable enough to participate in the excursion, floating on the board until I was comfortable, and I am so grateful that she did as it was an amazing experience! I am a swimmer and grew to be comfortable enough to snorkel as planned but I thank her tremendously for not letting me give up initially. I definitely recommend this excursion as the area was ducked off with no tourist and tons of wild life. Turtles are my favorite and they present in abundance. Aastha even brought some things to the surface for us to experience. If it’s your first time or 100th, I would truly recommend this excursion with Aastha.
I took this shore snorkel tour with my 10 year old son and we loved it! Everything was so well organized from our arrival to our send off. Aastha was our guide and she was amazing - so thoughtful, articulate, patient, and really passionate about her role. I was extremely impressed with the quality of the gear, the thoughtfulness in making sure everything fit well - even a wetsuit for my son and prescription mask for me. As soon as we got out into the water, we saw a sea turtle at the surface. From there, we saw at least 10 turtles, lots of fish, and even a school of maybe 200 large colorful fish. We were treated to refreshing drinks and snacks after the snorkel. My son and I were thrilled with this adventure. Highly recommend!! Thank you for an amazing memory Aastha!!

I'm scared of the water! Our guide Brett was nothing but supportive and patient! He even helped guide someone back to shore. I didn't leave tje buoy raft and I was still able to catch a glimpse and picture of a turtle. We'll smorkle again with this group!
I have fears of the ocea, but Brett was so helpful and understanding. He was also very knowledgeable, put everyone at ease and made the experience more enjoyable by pointing out some of the animals. He made our experience memorable, he let me just hang out on the bouy, put my fins and adjusted my mask so I could get some comfort in the water. I will be doing snorkeling again but only with this group!

Brett was informative and super chill. We saw at least 3 turtles and so many cool varieties of fish!! I went with my husband and two friends, one was not a strong swimmer and even she felt safe and enjoyed herself!! We were having so much fun that the time flew by!! My husband and I were lucky enough to be with Dave for our snorkeling tour. We had an amazing experience! Found fish but most importantly saw sea turtles!
These are nicest folks—this is an excellent outing for even novice swimmers—our group entered a beautiful bay from a long abandoned boat ramp (many other groups were both snorkeling and scuba diving from the same spot)—the ramp into the water was the most difficult part, but these folks helped both of us both in and out!
First time snorkeling. We saw 7 turtles and plenty of fish! When the weather made it difficult and dangerous to swim, our guides found us a new locations a few days before. We had the very nice and helpful David today. When we lost one of our phones during the experience as it snapped off the waterproofcase, he quickly found it in the water and brought it back to us saving us from an awful headache and problems during our honeymoon. That aside, we were able to get clean snorkeling gear, with the works: flippers, snorkel, and eyemask. And we were taught how to get out of tough situations, nothing was left to chance, and he was calm and understanding with our small group. Everyone should use this tour if they are able to! 10/10!!
We had to be relocated to a different beach because of wave concerns, (moved us to Anini), but it was an amazing experience. Our guide was excellent, and showed us all kinds of fish and turtles. We swam with wake boards. Would do it all again! Highly recommend.

Shelby is a fantastic guide! She helped everyone get out into ocean from the shore safely. The group was very small (6 people) and the amount of snorkel time was perfect! She made sure everyone was comfortable and safe at all times. The place she took us to was amazing! I saw so many different kinds of fish and was able to see a sea turtle too! If you have the opportunity to this excursion DO IT. You won’t be disappointed.
