Aidden was a great instructor. Not too many fish but the surf was rough. Loved the activity. Would do it again!

From start to finish, this experience was excellent. Christian was very organized and communicative, and prepped us with logistics, gear, and license info. Our guide Aidden was awesome and full of knowledge. The fishing spot was beautiful, easy to get to, and full of fish. You do need to be a comfortable swimmer, as the currents can be strong (the fins help a lot). But Aidden was always nearby and keeping a close eye on all participants. I'd highly recommend this company and experience. Thank you for a fantastic intro to spearfishing!

This was the highlight of our vacation so far. Christian provided a detailed safety, species, and equipment briefing that includes the folklore and socio-cultural context. His knowledge of the reef and sport are amazing. We saw many species and were thrilled with numerous turtle encounters. Do not expect to be successful immediately—it is technical and does require some luck as well as skill. This trip is not with a speargun-it is with the 3 prong sling spear. Can’t recommend this experience highly enough.

Fun learning the basics of spear fishing with a local guide who’s been doing it for years. Easy swimming water conditions in barrier reef area, just bring fins and they supplied everything else. Plenty of fish close to shore to practice on if you don’t want to swim far. I got two little fish and our guide prepped em for the pan, delicious. Don’t forget to tip your guide. 10% is standard folks.

Great instruction for the very beginner spear fisherman. I was able to harvest my first fish with a spear and it tasted great. On my Birthday, thanks to the instruction and a visit to the Kapaa Beach House, I invested in a basic set up and successfully harvested two more, which again, tasted great. Highly recommend this place! Well done.

My family and I had an awesome time. Aidden was an excellent guide who not only taught us the basics, but also kept a strong focus on sustaining the reef. Even if you don’t catch a fish on your first time out, just being on the reef is an incredible experience.

We really enjoyed our experience. Aiden was a fantastic guide and kept us safe. Only one of us managed to bring back a fish, but we had fun trying and there were plenty of fish to take shots at. My only critique is the snorkeling equipment for one of us had a damaged mouth piece which made it difficult. He didn’t realize it until we were already out there and away from the equipment.

This was a great first spearfishing experience for my son and I. We would definitely recommend this experience for any newbie to spearfishing. Our instructor was awesome and did a great job of teaching and helping throughout the experience . This was my first time out and I was able to spear two fish based of what I learned. The instruction was excellent and the overall experience was great!

This is a bit challenging of a snorkel but if you are comfortable snorkeling you will be fine!! My husband and I speared 5 fish combined. We almost got a few more but it’s a bit tricker than you think - which made this really fun. The snorkel alone is amazing. Saw 5 sea turtles while trying to fish. You can take home what you catch after to make for dinner! Aiden is a great swimmer, instructor, and was there to help truly whenever. He did a great job checking in and giving us the maximum time in the water fishing. Truly one of the coolest experiences we did in all of the Hawaiian islands. You will be provided with a mask and snorkel, gloves and a 3 prong spear. Bring your own fins, make sure you get nice ones at a rental place bc they make the snorkel so much easier. You will be tired after this one!

Such an amazing experience! It was very hard to actually catch the fish and we were unsuccessful but we didn’t mind cause we got some good snorkeling and swam with the turtles. It was fun to try the spears as well!

Christian was very accommodating when I learned I accidentally double-booked my wife and I the day before our scheduled outing. He got right back to me (unlike the other company) and got us rescheduled. The current and tides were very strong on our rescheduled day, and Aidden offered to take us out a second day. The communication and personability of both of them was exceptional. Would 100% book again if I find myself on the island. Huge thanks to both of them for giving us an awesome experience!

10/10 experience! Aidden is a great teacher and made it into an easy and fun adventure. I speared a fish and my boyfriend got a needlefish. My favorite part was admiring the sea turtles. An unforgettable experience!

This is a really fun and unique experience unlike anything else we’d done on the island in our couple of trips to Kauai. If you catch a fish you’ll be stoked all day, and if you don’t then at least you’ll get some top-tier snorkeling in! We didn’t catch anything, but we did see sea turtle, octopus, eel, and puffer fish while out there. Tons of catchable fish (remember to get your license), a great experience in a beautiful setting, and I love that it was something other than the same old stuff we’d done in the past - really a unique and worthwhile experience. Aiden was our guide and he was really helpful and chill, good teacher.

We loved this traditional snd authentic activity hosted by Aidden, who patiently taught our group of 3 how to spear fish on a stunning Hawaiian beach. We were taught about the different fish and how to catch them. As you can imagine, this is much more tricky than you would think! However it’s totally immersive - so much so that a sea turtle above me totally took me by surprise. Fortunately it wasn’t a shark!

Aidden was an excellent instructor and guide. He knows the ocean! Really glad we did this...learned a lot. I would recommend this to friends and family easily. But, be a decent swimmer and try to test any gear you bring before hand. Also, it does take some strength and endurance. We didn't catch any sizable fish, but the education and experience was totally worth it.

Our guide, Aidden, is sweet and patient and just adorable. While the three of us did not catch any fish, it was an experience will never forget. And we did get to take home and eat the fish Aidden caught!

Met our guide at the simple to follow designated spot in Anini Beach. Our guide Aidden was friendly, approachable and very knowledgeable. Spent time getting instructions and pertinent information. Demonstration of the sling and go around for our group then geared up and headed out. You should be comfortable in the water with snorkel gear and expect some current resistance. Once out to our first spot off we went. My Son and I got a fish! I was not expecting to and going in Aidden was clear that he did not catch anything until his 5th time out. Be realistic with your expectations. It is not as easy as it looks but great fun in trying. Once back, Aidden cleaned our fish and we prepared them that night. Great meal. We had an awesome time with Aidan as our guide. He was clearly very experienced as he told us he would go in and catch a fish to demonstrate to us how it was done. Low and behold he caught a fish within 30 seconds of arriving at the fishing spot. Great dude and very helpful. Our experience was pretty awesome. We went out for a couple hours, saw amazing fish and turtles, and even caught a few fish. Aidan was cool enough to gut and process the fish. Some people in our tour did not catch fish, ultimately I think if you go out there with the mentality that you’ll catch one and aren’t afraid to take shots then you’ll get one. Just make sure it’s bigger than your Shaka. Would absolutely recommend for any adventurous group.

Great experience. The reef is a good distance out. Watch tor tide timings. Low tide makes it a bit harder to head out and back without getting scraped up.

Amazing Day! I was afraid that we’d be in deep water but the deepest was about 5 feet. I saw so many fish and others saw plenty of turtles. We didn’t catch dinner as it was just a day after the rains but it was still worthwhile. If you have any doubt - just do it!

Bought for my husband. Cool learning experience but a little too physically demanding. Instructor was set on taking them about 3 football lengths out in the reef (they had to swim out from the shore before even trying to fish).

This was probably my favorite activity I did during my entire trip in Hawaii and that even includes comparing it to skydiving! I got lucky and managed to see and swim near a few turtles and even saw some large eels! Aidden was great. He was very knowledgeable and helpful. My only warning is that it can require a lot of strength and stamina in your dominant arm because the spear is essentially a slingshot so holding it under tension one-armed while waiting for the fish to get in the line of fire will wear you out.

Aidden was a wonderful guide for our teen boys. They had a wonderful time, and enjoyed get g to explore the Anini beach reef.

Was a true island experience ! Aiden made the time in the water very excellerating showing us all the reef , fishing with us and letting us know how to cook the fish we had taken home. This is a must do everytime your on the island swimming with turtles and huge fish!

An experience worth trying! One of the funniest things I’ve ever done now I plan on making a hobby out of. It’s a whole another world down there..

My husband and his friend went together and they said they had a great time. Their instructor Aidden was knowledgeable, kind and helpful. They stayed out an extra hour so dont get worried if you don’t hear from them. There’s also no service on the beach. They were both able to catch fish but could only keep 2 of the ones that passed certain requirements. The only thing my husband said he would do differently was bring anti fog for his googles because they would fog up so quickly, he has a beard so that could be why. Overall, it was a great experience and they loved it!

Pretty much as advertised. Easy place to find on Anini beach. Pretty quick lesson but covered all the needed info. Pretty long swim out but easy and no rush. Had a murky day so hard to see but you can work along the edge of the reef and it looks like it could drop to 60'. Not many large fish my day. Did see a lot of turtles which is always enjoyable. Small group of 6 people so easy to spread out and about half the group got a fish. Instructor tows a float to put your fish in if you are lucky. Problem with that is if you get a fish you have to get to the float to drop it in before you can get another one. That of course means sticking with the crowd which means a lot of thrashing around you. Cost is a bit high but looks to be the least expensive around. You do need to get your own license but easily done on line for $20

This was such a cool experience! Aidden was our instructor and he was relaxed, knowledgeable, and helpful. After the briefing and swim out we were right in the fish and getting opportunities to spear. The reef would have been an amazing snorkel alone, but adding the challenge of spearfishing made it unforgettable. Everybody in our group had success, and there were fish everywhere. We will absolutely be returning!

Fantastic experience! "Snorkeling with a purpose" as our guide put it! If you can snorkel you can spear fish in this very beginner friendly spearfishing course! One of the most authentic excursions I've done.
