Being one of the only hotels in Hana, this is a nice hotel for what it's worth. However, it was overpriced for the actual amenities and what it offers. We stayed in a garden suite for our honeymoon and really enjoyed the room itself. It had a large bathroom and a large living room area + patio. Biggest downside to the room was that it had no TV, which was sad because it was the worldcup while we were there. The pool and hot tub on site are wonderful and have a lovely view. However, the drinks at the bar near it are insanely priced and come in a plastic solo cup. We also hoped for some sort of complimentary breakfast but there is nothing complimentary at this hotel at all. Don't waste your time at their breakfast or dinner spots as they both suck and are overpriced. You're better off going to the food trucks down the road and getting something there.

If you’re looking for something unique and special for your Maui adventure this is the place to go. Get away from the giant resorts and stay at this incredible retreat right on your way to or back from your tour of Hāna. The staff make you feel like family. They are all locals to Hana. The villas provide a private and intimate setting. The views of the ocean at sunrise and sunset can’t be beat. The pool is the best place to hangout with bar service and lunch. We stayed for 4 nights in this magical place and never felt more relaxed. The restaurant up the street is amazing and breakfast pancakes are THE BEST I’ve ever had. Tried to order something different the next day but had to go back for more every day after. Each hut or room is like your own unique apartment. It’s was nice to hang and relax or go for walks along the ocean, we played tennis, golf and basketball too. All-in-all if you’re looking for something to make your trip unforgettable, I would highly recommend staying here.
Everything is gorgeous! The rooms are huge and well thought out. If you stay here and go to the “main pool”, I hope you get to order from Natalie at the pool bar. She is one of those kind of people that brightens everyone’s day just talking and smiling. Service here is so good…hard to put into words. The service is *old-fashioned* good. The people that work here seem genuinely interested in ensuring you have the best possible stay. They have a tiny golfing “pitch-and-putt”. It is 3 holes and not well-kept like a regular golf course. Expect to lose a ball or 2, and the “greens” are basically fields of wheat lol. Still, it is included (along with many other activities), and you can check out a pitching wedge and putter, so don’t be a doofus like me and bring your own gear lol. Overall, a terrific experience and worth the drive. Just please remember to PULL OVER FOR ANYONE DRIVING BEHIND YOU!!!
This place is magic. What an amazing resort. Beautiful & authentic to this special area but also really nice. The bungalows are huge with amazing view. The main pool is stunning & heated & 24hrs. The rooms are a bit dated but, I can’t imagine what it takes to update something in this remote of an area. Can’t wait to be back. My only regret is not staying 2 night. Will be recommending this to everyone.
Hana-Maui Resort is an absolute gem and stands out completely from your typical Hawaiian resort. Unlike other massive properties, this one is tuned perfectly for a personal touch. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel incredibly welcome and even upgraded our room! Our kid absolutely loved riding the resort's bikes, which we all used to explore the nearby area and head down to the beach. Watching the sunrise from here was a truly magical experience. For comparison, we’ve also stayed at the Grand Hyatt Kauai. While that is a huge, beautiful property with tons of great water slides, it often felt more like a busy theme park with hotel rooms. Out of the two, we easily fell in love with Hana-Maui. If you prefer personal charm, serenity, and local exploration over massive crowds, this is the place to be.
