Kandy To Ambuluwawa Tower Private Day Tour By Tuk Tuk

This was a great experience to see the main sights in Kandy. The tuk tuk experience is a must and makes it an easy way to get around a busy city. Raju was very knowledgeable and helpful. His driving was very good and we felt safe. We had the option to not go to some places, if we did not want to and Raju made the tour fit to what we wanted to do. Really enjoyable day and lovely experience! Would definitely recommend.

Our driver saneth was super! He stopped off along the way to show us nice things like fruit and lookout points. He was funny and friendly and I would highly recommend using his service as a great way to travel!

We spent the whole day with Dhanuska , who was very informative and accommodative. The weather was just perfect for what was planned for the day. Dhanu had our day planned out precisely and made it happen. Our first Sri Lanka visit was mind blowing. Thanks.

I had a great time with Akila, he was accomodating to what I wanted to see and guided me to the best spots. I felt safe and comfortable, even when driving through the traffic and rain. Akila is very knowledgeable about the city of Kandy and it was great to learn about each of the locations we visited.

I had a fantastic day with Ramzan. He allowed me to tailor the day based on what I wanted to really see in the itinerary. He was also very accommodating and stopped at a Bakery before starting the tour for me to have breakfast. If you ever get the chance to do this experience, definitely ask for Ramzan who made the entire day easy and relaxing.

We had dhanu as our Tuk Tuk driver for the day. He was the best we could have asked for, taking us everywhere we wanted to see and more! Dhanus driving made us feel safe even in rush hour traffic.

I decided to go to Kandy alone to visit the city, and fortunately I wasn’t alone for long because Dhanu, besides being a guide, felt like a friend. He was friendly, smiling, cheerful, and very helpful.

We set off for the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage today at 7:30 AM. Our driver and tour guide Dhanu was very professional; he drove safely and got us there very quickly. We had plenty of time to enjoy the views, watch the elephants, and see the elephant procession. Danu waited for us the whole time. On the way back we did several stops to enjoy scenery and make great pictures, Dhanu got us a few local pastries, it was very nice of him. It was a very pleasant trip, and we had a great day. We highly recommend Dhanu as a driver and tour guide for a wonderful and stress-free day!

Had a great day going to Ambulawawa Tower and a tea factory where we were shown how tea was made. The tower is a great albeit scary experience, but we are so glad we did it. Our driver, Dhanu, was fantastic, and gave us suggestions for different parts of the day, including showing us where to get a great Sri Lankan massage.

Dhanu was an amazing guide. We needed to change money and he helped us with this at the start of the day. We then asked him later in the day to take us for lunch in a typical restaurant!! It was brilliant and we could not have done this without his help. His driving is excellent- felt very safe and secure in his hands. The water and the personalised gift was an absolute treat. He was extremely kind to other people- assisted a foreigner in his tuk tuk. Directed another traveller, all whilst being attentive to us. The itinerary was exactly what we wanted, and he was happy to remove/tweak the day to suit us. I can recommend him wholeheartedly as a fantastic guide. 10/10 from us!!!!!

After waiting for 15 minutes message them and then after over 45 minutes no answer and no tuk tuk so left the hotel and found a another tuk tuk who did the same trip less! Did get answer after about one hour and said tuk tuk on the way, but too late. Did get a refund no problem via customer service

I was interested in the Amburwawa Tower and joined this tour. Ramzan, the driver assigned to me, was always smiling and friendly, an expert tuk-tuk driver whose driving felt truly exciting, like participating in Moto GP. He was also a gentleman who carefully avoided bumps. While the sightseeing guide was excellent, his driving technique was a pleasure to experience. As this tour packs in the highlights of Kandy, I consider it excellent value for money.

We had a great day with Dhanu on our Kandy city tour. He arrived very punctually, was professional and spoke great English. We started off with a stop off at the Kandy view point, then onto the amazing Asgiri temple. He was very knowledgeable about the museum and the temple. We then went onto the Giant Buddha. Again, very knowledgeable, took some photos of myself and my daughter which was nice. It was a busy itinerary for the day but he was very flexible and accommodating. In the afternoon we headed to the incredible Ambuluwawa Tower. This is not for the faint hearted! But worth the leg wobbly walk up to the top for the incredible views. We then headed to the botanical gardens which were stunning. We ended the day at the Temple of the sacred tooth to a very atmospheric thunderstorm. Action packed and expertly delivered by Dhanu, who was fun, kind and interesting to be with. To be recommended!

What a beautiful day out, we really got a taste of Sri Lankan culture and Akila was such an amazing tour guide. He was so informative and kind.

He knows the city and its surroundings extremely well and took us to see not only the most famous landmarks but also authentic, less touristy places that we would have never discovered on our own. One of the most special moments of our trip was entirely thanks to him: Malik managed to get us tickets to the Esala Perahera, the famous traditional festival in Kandy — tickets that seemed impossible to find! Because of him, we got to experience something truly unique and unforgettable, right in the heart of Sri Lankan culture and tradition. His tuk-tuk was clean and comfortable, and we always felt safe and at ease. What we appreciated most was Malik’s honesty: he never pressured us into tourist traps or souvenir shops — something that, unfortunately, happens often in touristy areas. We booked a tuk-tuk tour with Dhanu and had a great experience. He gave us helpful tips about Kandy and showed us many interesting places. He was considerate, explained things along the way, and was very friendly. It really felt like we got to see a more authentic side of Kandy thanks to his insider knowledge. Without us even asking, he stopped several times to get us fresh coconuts, water, lychee fruit, and small souvenirs — a very kind and thoughtful gesture. Chintha is a great exceptionally nice guide, and was really flexible. We scheduled late and Kandy Tuk Tuk was able to accommodate us. It was more like having a driver with ideas than a guide, but that worked well for us since we were flexible and had to agenda. Chintha clearly cared a lot and wanted to do a good job.

He picked us up from our out of town Fox Kandy hotel, and let us have a break for lunch at the hotel before taking us into town centre to attend the evening sacred tooth ceremony and traditional dance show . We did the tour with akila and it was amazing. He showed us after deciding ourselves what to do from the schedule, many different things - trees, fruit, told us many things about buddism and history of Kandy. It was a great day we would totally recommend.

The trip is very flexible! You can communicate with the guide to adjust the schedule for the trips according to your wishlist. The guide will explain the historical context and significance of the temples and introduce the scenaries during the trip.

This was a great highlights of Kandy trip covering many of the main attractions. Akila our guide was extremely flexible, altering our itinerary to suit our requests and timing things perfectly. The wood carving, dancing & Ambuluwawa are not to be missed! Our only suggestion would be for more information to be given at each place we stopped at. Otherwise, we thoroughly enjoyed this trip and recommend it highly!

The views were great. Our guide is very experience and explains the cultural importance of the places we visited. He was very friendly and took good care of us. Can't request for anyone better. We highly recommend him to take for tours around Kandy.

We started Our tour at Ambuluwawa tower on top of a high hill . The spiral stair got tighter and tighter as it went up. About 4ft across at the top! My legs were like jelly before I couldn't get any higher up. 4 people in front stopped me getting to the pinnacle. No passing possible. Next we went onto Pinnawal elephant orphanage where the elephants were fed and taken down to the river to bathe. From there we went to tea factory. Tasted some teas and enjoyed the description from our host into how they make them and why. From there we went to the royal botanical gardens where we enjoyed the different plants, trees and wildlife. Finally a stop at Bahirawakanda Temple on the hill top in Kandy. Today was a great day out. There was far more we could have gone to see with our guide Ramzan. He was very good in letting us choose what to do, but provided good advice also. He spoke excellent English and very kindly bought us some biscuit snacks and a bottle of water. A lovely person to spend the day with.

Dhanu is the best guide in Sri Lanka! Me and my friend feel safe with him and his tuk tuk. It was first time for us when we took a ride with a tuk tuk, but it was awsome! Danu knows a lot of beautiful places there and he drove us safe! He is the best!

Dhanu was an awesome guide! He almost instantly assessed what we wanted from the day and even added stops that fitted our needs perfectly. Most importantly, we enjoyed his company and he found us some great bargains at the local market. Feel assured to trust him and his company for quality tours!

Really enjoyed the tour. It's a big day as the tour covers all the main tourism sightseeing locations, so we definitely took in a lot in the time allocated for the tour. This itinerary includes a trip to Gambola to see and climb the Ambuluwa tower. Akila was a really knowledgeable guide who took some great photos for us. I would recommend this tour, especially if you are short on time and Iwant to see see most of the main locations in Kandy.

Such a great day with Abdul Ramzan! We tuk-tuked around Kandy and saw all the wonderful sites - temples, stupas, the amazing botanical gardens garden, a garden where the herbs and spices are grown that become Ayurvedic medicines, a tea factory, etc. He pointed things out along the way I would have missed, made impromptu stops upon my request. A truly lovely day.

This tour was absolutely perfect! Rohan was the ideal guide for our first day in Sri Lanka. He made sure we covered all the highlights in Kandy, including Ambuluwawa Tower and Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. His hospitality was amazing—everything was well-planned and on time. The stories he shared were insightful, and he gave us ample time at every stop, even clicking great photos for us. He introduced us to the local culture and offered us fresh local fruits to try. Honestly, words aren’t enough to praise his efforts. Rohan was truly outstanding!

This was a good tour, just be careful when you customize your itinerary cause some of the stops(batik factory, wood craving, gem museum) felt like a cash grab rather than an educational/cultural experience so the day could a bit draining and long. But my driver Ramzan was AMAZING, he was patient, kind and understanding. He made this experience way better. Ask for him to be your driver and you wouldn’t regret it.

An exceptionally well planned tour from an exceptional guide. He managed to deliver a well packed and competitively priced tour around all the sites we wished to see and avoided those we didn’t want to frequent. We would never manage to see this much of Kandy in one day by ourselves. Definitely worth it! Akil was the best guide we could imagine. We suggest to visit Elephants Orphange in Pinnawala where they are free instead of the Millenium Elephant Pinnawala where it seems to be more for tourist attraction.
