Lasantha is a really nice man who cares about his clients. For example, he picked us up on time and took us theough Kandy's chaotic traffic to 14th and 15th century temples in the hills behind Kandy rather than the usual tourist draw cards. We thoroughly enjoyed the day and which finished with the best cultural dance show we have ever seen. Thank you Lasantha.

Lasa was a fantastic tour guide, he was happy to build the day around where we wanted to go but he also provided some guidance to help us find some hidden gems. We can understand why he is so popular - not just with tourists but with locals too - because he is so friendly and lovely. Lasantha is well respected by everyone he meets and he goes out of his way to make sure your having a fantastic tour. Lasantha is an excellent driver, a fantastic tour guide and an all round lovel person. We even hired Lasantha the next day to take us from Kandy to Nanu Oya. It was another great trip and we stopped at the most amazing bakery for breakfast to try egg rolls and fresh samosa. Next time we are in Kandy we will be catching up again. I had a wonderful day yesterday with Lasantha. It was great that I could customise the trip to suit myself and Lasantha was very flexible. He took me to an amazing 700 year old temple that I didn’t know about. And helped me find a saree at a silk shop. He has a great friendly disposition and cannot do enough for you. If you're visiting Kandy and want to explore by tuk tuk, I highly recommend Lasantha. We started the day at 8:30 in the morning, which worked out really well as it gave us plenty of time to see different places without rushing. Lasantha was reliable, honest and very knowledgeable about the area. What I appreciated most was that he customised the trip based on the places I was interested in rather than following a fixed route. Because of his local knowledge, he brought me to several spots I probably would not have discovered on my own, and it saved me a lot of time trying to figure out where to go. Along the way he also shared interesting bits of history about the places we visited, but in a relaxed way that didn’t feel overwhelming. I genuinely had a really enjoyable time exploring Kandy with him. Lasantha is friendly, trustworthy and clearly cares about giving his guests a good experience. If you want an easy and stress-free way to see more of Kandy, I would definitely recommend booking a trip with him.

We really enjoyed our day tour with Lasantha. We visited beautiful temples, the tea factory, the spice garden and had lunch at a lovely restaurant. Wonderful day with Lasantha. He picked us up at our hotel and then took us to two temples, the tea factory, the botanical gardens followed by a visit to the central market (at our request), the relic of the tooth exhibition and then finishing with a visit to the view point and tradition dancing at the arts centre. Consider this your cue to stop laboring over which Kandy tour to do, and close all your open TripAdvisor tabs. Normally I’m skeptical of 5.0 ratings, especially at this price. However, Lasantha is deserving of a 6.0 rating. You will not find greater value, kindness, or flexibility from a tour guide. We had a few ‘swaps’ to our itinerary we wanted to do - he was super accommodating for both - and took us to a fantastic local restaurant where only locals ate, at our request. He was super aware of making sure we made it to the show on time, yet not pushy, never making us feel rushed. For the price, truly unmatched service. Thank you, Lasantha!

We really enjoyed our time with Lasantha! We had limited time in Kandy so wanted to get an insider’s perspective of Kandy and Lasantha gave us an exceptional experience! He was always smiling, friendly and engaging! We visited many temples and shrines (some with huge historical significance) and even went to a tea factory place where I tried some of the best white tea I’ve ever had! Lasantha also took us to a lovely lunch place with some of the best devilled fish I’ve had in Sri Lanka! If there are some things you want to skip, you’re able to tailor the tour to what you want to see - for example, I get headaches at botanical gardens so I skipped that and was able to replace it / stay longer at sights I wanted. We also managed to see the tooth relic temple in Kandy on a key date so got to see so many locals milling about! Thank you Lasantha.

Friendly guide with good driving skills, we saw some interesting spots in Kandy, we had a good day! Definitely worth the price.

Not a good experience and we recommend you look elsewhere. Do some research on common scams in Sri Lanka. Don't buy gems and don't buy anything from the "spice gardens". Guides are commissioned to take you to fraudulent businesses. Lasantha acts friendly but it's not genuine. We specifically asked for things listed in the itinerary and instead we were brought to scam imitations of the actual places. A lot of tours like this do the same thing apparently. Maybe he used to be reputable, given all the other reviews. Maybe they just don't realize they were ripped off. But he certainly isn't reliable now. I contacted Lasantha after we did some research and learned the truth, and he never responded to my message. I think that tells you all you need to know about his character. Every driver and tour we had after this all tried to do the same thing. So it reflects less on Lasantha individually and more on the predatory nature of all the guides in Sri Lanka. So be careful no matter who you choose!

Lasantha was so considerate and full of great knowledge, yet delivered it in a way that was humble and kind. He is a real gentleman, very respective to us two female travellers, not at all overbearing or rude in any way. He listened to our interests and pivoted the day to accommodate us. When we first met and we mentioned that we were feeling a bit "templed out" and only wanted to see one this day - and when I happened to mention the Kandy War Cemetery for Commonwealth soldiers, he adjusted immediately to take us on a scenic journey to the beautiful gardens and then to a view point on a little road to be able to see a gorgeous remote temple on the other side of the valley. By doing this, he helped create the expectation of our adventure to that temple. When we got there, we basically had the whole place to ourselves - no crowds, fresh air, and Lasanta with his amazing - yet gentle - time management skills got us there in time for us to hear the monks playing music. It was a beautiful moment of peace and harmony. We felt so special. When he found out I was interested in bridges, he detoured to a number of places so we could view these amazing bridges and structures. We trusted him for the selection of our lunch restaurant - and it was really good food, safe to eat, clean toilet & a place where lots of local folks on their business lunches were eating. He was by far our #1 most favourite guide/driver in the two weeks that we travelled around Sri Lanka. Our fond memories of Sri Lanka will always include Lasantha. We booked him in advance because he listed a full day tour around the Kandy area such a reasonably low rate. We happily tipped him 400% because he was so amazing!!!!

We had such an amazing family tour around Kandy with Lasantha! He's a wonderful and friendly person, always willing to help and adapt to our needs. We spent two days, the first visiting different corners of Kandy, with hardly any people around, which made us enjoy the experience even more. He even booked us tickets to a front-row show, so we didn't have to do anything, just let ourselves go. On the second day, he organized a perfect excursion to Dambulla and Sigiriya and did us the great favor of arranging transportation to our next destination. As an introverted solo female traveler, sometimes I worry a bit about signing up for tours, but I had the absolute best tour with Lasantha. He was so kind, friendly and knowledgeable. He let me tailor the tour just how I would like and I had his WhatsApp so I could reach out as well. I had a fantastic day in and outside of Kandy. He shared some bits of information at appropriate points and showed some excellent sights but I was able to relax and enjoy all the views. He is very respectful, personable and prompt. Lasantha took us on a fabulous tour around Kandy and lots of pretty countryside and villages. It included the Big Buddha, the amazing three 14th century temples, an interesting tea factory, the Kandy look out, a spice garden, the sacred tooth relic temple and to round off the day, the Kandy cultural performance. Lasantha provided a wealth of information and conveyed his obvious interest in and enthusiasm for his city. He was keen to tailor the tour to our wishes. As we had limited time, Lasantha was totally flexible and took us only to the places we had time to visit. He dropped us off at each attraction and picked us up when requested. We were so impressed with his service, we used him to take us to the airport the next day. This time in his car, not his tuk tuk! Would highly recommend.

Our tour with Lasantha was an absolute highlight. He took us to places that were unheard of inside and outside of Kandy; they were incredible. He was so informative and taught us a lot during our day, even joining us and explaining the history of the temples. Akila (our driver) arrived promptly. He was thoughtful and professional and spoke very good English. He took us all over the city to visit temples, the big Budha, a tea factory, a woodcarving shop, the botanical gardens (wonderful) and finally to see Kandyan dancing and the main Temple of Tooth. What a day!!! Highly recommend. First class. Fun but crazy in the Kandy traffic. The only way to see the city.

The whole experience was great. We particularly enjoyed visiting the temples well away from the city, taking in some of the countryside. Our guide Lasantha was excellent, tailoring the trip to our requests where possible and making sure we were well catered for at all the attractions. Can't thank him enough. I booked the Tuk Tuk tour in hopes of having an opportunity to squeeze in a few sights in Kandy before my husband and I had to head to the airport in Colombo. We only had 4 hours. Lasantha was great in accommodating our shortened schedule. We told him what we wanted to see / do and he suggested the order that would work best. He was amazingly flexible and pleasant to deal with! Plus he was a great driver and getting through the Kandy traffic. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Lasantha took us not only to the city of Kandy, but also to many local places that would be difficult to visit on our own. He arranged the tour based on the places we had visited the day before. All the places were wonderful and Lasantha taught me a lot about them, which made the publication process enjoyable. He took us to a good, reasonably priced restaurant for lunch. The attendants at the dance show were wonderful and a valuable experience. It was truly a great tour and made the day a very productive one. I highly recommend it.

This Tuk Tuk tour was amazing. We were given a list of activities and able to curate it to our own desires. There was no pressure to see or do anything we didn’t want to do. Our guide also recommended a great local restaurant so we could try Sri Lankan rice and curry at such a reasonable price. If you have a full day in Kandy, this is the perfect way to see everything you want!

The tour was great due to the fact I was able to adjust the activities according to what my interests were. The tea factory was my favorite activity on this tour (a must do activity). The tour guide provided effective communication to make sure I was successful able to locate him for the start of the tour. He is very knowledgeable of the area and provide great details in any interests you may have while in the area outside of the tour. I felt extremely safe while on this tour at all times. I would recommend this tour/tour guide if your in the kandy area.
