It was wonderful, we booked the tour with Laka. He explained us everything about bouddhism, he knows every corner of his city, Kandy. He brought us to a tea factory.... Just wahouuuu incredible !! Best price ever in Sri lanka for us !! We spent the day with him. He manages the program to suit the best what we want. He takes care of us. Very good and safe driver. Highly recommanded ! Laka walked us through the different areas we could see and let us choose which we were most interested in. We ended up going to 2 extra unplanned sites as we were having such a fun time. He was an incredible tour guide, answering any questions we had about Kandy or life in Sri Lanka in general.

I visited Sri Lanka between August and September 2026 and I was lucky to meet LAKA. I did 3 days in Ella - Zip Line, ATV in tea fields, Little Adam's Peak, Nine Arch Bridge, Ravana Falls and the famous train to Nuwara Eliya. LAKA organized everything for me perfectly. Laka picked us up at Colombo airport and was the first friendly face of Sri Lanka for us. The next day in Kandy we had a great Tuktuk tour with 3 Tuktuks for 9 people. It was a fantastic day with a lot of the nicest memories. The botanic garden and the local food centre were the coolest expieriences for me. They were super super nice to the kids which had such fun throughout the whole day. I higly recommend this tour with Laka. Thanks again and hope, we can repeat this once in future. We had an amazing tour of Kandy, Laka was so knowledgeable and helpful, took us to temples, a prison, war memorials, carving centre, coronial gardens and the markets. We tailored the tour for what we wanted to do. We felt no pressure to go to certain places we didn’t want to and tailored the tour for ourselves. Laka had an amazing knowledge of Kandy, Srilanka history, Buddhism and it was amazing to spend the day with him.

We spent an entire day with Laka and the tour was AMAZING! Laka is the perfect local guide, funny and kind, and speaks great english; we visited eight wonderful places with his Tuk-tuk (temples, buddah status, wood carving shop, tea factory, etc...) and he explains every details and knows a lot about typical places and wonderful spots. For lunch we had and amazing (and cheap!) experience eating a lot of tasty dishes in a local market in Kandy 😋 And Lanka also helped us to arrange our next transfer to Nuwara Eliya! We had an amazing day touring Kandy with Laka. He picked us up from our hotel and made the entire day enjoyable, informative, and stress-free despite the busy Kandy traffic. Laka shared fascinating details about the history and culture of every place we visited, including temples, bridges, rivers, a tea factory, gem factories, and an Ayurvedic centre. He was incredibly knowledgeable and even explained the stories and significance behind the beautiful pictures and artwork inside the temples. What we appreciated most were his helpful local tips — from finding the best bargains and exchanging money to recommending bakeries for a quick snack and giving us advice when shopping for gems. Lake was sunny and friendly and the tour was most enjoyable. Great value for money. Well worth doing if you want to see the highlights of Kandy in a limited time.

Laka was the most amazing host for our tut tut tour of Kandy. We visited so many places. Temples, botanical gardens, wood carving factory, spice plantation, war cemetry, and tea factory where we tasted delicous teas. We also visited the jewellry store where we learnt how the precious gem stones are mined. Nothing was too much trouble for Laka who also took me to the optician to see if they could mend my broken spectacles...which they did. The botanical gardens are stunning and well worth a longer visit if you have time. We would hightly recommend Laka, a well travelled local guide who speaks excellent english and whos knowlegee of budhism and the local area is outstanding.

My driver Ishan was lovely! I was on my own, and felt looked after by Ishan. He was very accommodating, as I only had limited time and had to skip some parts. The tour itself is a good way to see Kandy highlights. The gem ‘museum’ and tea factory are both shops that strongly encourage you buy things (the tea was very expensive!). Ishan took me to some lesser known Buddhist sites, which were a nice bonus and the Botanical Gardens were the highlight for me. If you are short on time like I was, this is great way to see the highlights.

Everything you could want in a tour and we have been on more than our fair share. Lanka has impeccable English and give you a great depth of the history of the city. See something and ask “what’s that” and he will whip the tuktuk over and explain. We even had new foods and pink coconut for the first time. Time was not a concern for him which is a rare thing to find. Can’t recommend him any more highly.

If you have only one day to spend it in Kandy (like us), spend it with Laka. Laka is an amazing tour guide - authentic, very kind and willingly customizes the trip to your schedule and interests. He is very knowledgeable about Sri Lankan culture and knows Kandy in and out. Since we are vegetarians, he took us to an amazing lunch place which had all the "must-eat" Sri Lankan local dishes at extremely reasonable prices. We just pigged out. Because he is known to the owners, they even let us pay after we ate our meal. At the end of our trip, he even dropped us at the railway station after picking up our luggage at the hotel - which is clearly not part of his responsibility!

We had a wonderful day in Kandy with our driver. He took us to various great stops and even made the Ambuluwawa Tower possible at our request. We were particularly impressed by his extensive knowledge of Buddhism and the culture of Sri Lanka. Thanks to him, we were able to make the most of our day. Absolutely reliable, friendly, and highly recommended!

We did a half-day tour and could not have asked for better. The driver is extremely competent, professional, and passionate: he knows the history of Kandy's monuments in minute detail and offers truly interesting insights into Buddhist culture and local traditions. In a few hours, he managed to make us live a rich, dynamic, and never superficial experience. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a serious and knowledgeable local guide!

I can recommend the city tour in Kandy with Laka to everyone; we were out for 6 hours today and saw a lot of the city that we would have surely missed otherwise! Laka is a very pleasant and accommodating person who entertained us all day with fun facts and knowledge about the city and its traditions. All in all, 10/10; I would recommend it anytime! If we had had one more day, we surely would have done the tour to Sigiriya as well!

Excellent service, we decided to do the tour spontaneously and the tuk tuk arrived to pick us up in less than 10 minutes, put us together a tour according to our time availability
