At Peradeniya Botanical Garden, travelers will wander through 147 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens, home to over 4,000 species of plants. At Ambuluwawa Tower, travelers will ascend a striking multi-spiral tower perched atop a mountain, offering 360-degree panoramic views of the lush countryside, distant hills, and nearby towns. The climb to the top is thrilling, with each level revealing breathtaking scenery. Visitors can immerse themselves in the peaceful ambiance of the Ambuluwawa Biodiversity Complex, which houses religious shrines and a variety of plants. This stop combines adventure, nature, and spirituality, making it a highlight of the tour.
At the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, travelers will explore one of Sri Lanka's most sacred and historic sites, housing a revered relic of Lord Buddha's tooth. The temple is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, known for its stunning architecture, vibrant ceremonies, and deep spiritual significance. Visitors can immerse themselves in Buddhist rituals, admire intricate carvings and frescoes, and experience the rich cultural heritage of Kandy.
Definitely worth a visit. Walking the steps to the top is not for the faint hearted though. Entry fee of 2,000SLR is possibly a bit pricey but the view and experience are great. Road is steep and winding. Our driver was happy to take us up, but needed 10mins to cool the brakes at the bottom.
We had a wonderful day with our guide, Rohan. We visited several temples and, among other things, attended the ceremony at the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic. We also visited a spice and herbal garden, where we were given a fascinating guided tour by a knowledgeable herbalist. We learned a lot about the different plants and their traditional uses. Afterwards, we were given a tour of a gemstone factory, where we learned a great deal about the entire process, from mining the gemstones to their processing and finishing. We then visited Ambuluwawa Tower and took some fantastic photos. After this exciting, but also quite exhausting, day, Rohan even accompanied us to an excellent restaurant. We are very grateful for this wonderful day and for having such an excellent tour guide!
Rohan was a great tour guide, very friendly and helpful too, giving us travel tips for transportation in the rest of our trip! We got to see lots of Kandy in a short amount of time thanks to him🙏
Tony was a great guide. He went above and beyond to help us have an unforgettable experience like getting us the king coconut drinks, helping with some grocery shopping. Only downside was that we were not aware that going to the Ambuluwawa tower would need additional charges for tuk tuks.

When you are booking, ask to get Rohan as your guide/ driver. His expertise and knowledge about the city turned ugly rainy day into one of best experiences in Sri Lanka. He went above and beyond and kindly took us to places apart from the itinerary. Some of the main roads were closed due to fallen rocks, but thanks to him it did not impact the tour. We drove around and across the beautiful rainforest road. Tour was part of honeymoon journey and can’t be recommend enough!
We had the most amazing day with Tony! We booked a day trip through Kandy to see all the highlights. During the drive he also stopped at the little food stands and let us try all different things (lychee, mango, red banana, king coconut, some pastries). He knows a lot about the culture and speaks good English. We would recommend him to everyone! He is offering also multiple day tours to also Sigirya etc but we didnt had the time for that unfortunately.

Tony is the best guide in Sri Lanka! He speaks English perfectly, is friendly, helpful and attentive to every need for his well-being. Very culturally prepared, it enriches you with a lot of information. The day was very varied, with many stops and not too long journeys. Great Service pick up and drop off from your hotel. Absolutely recommended to spend one or more unforgettable days together and have authentic experiences!
He also had a lot of support from his friends with children and was kind to us, even those of us who are deaf. It was very good 👍 I recommend the tour here! 👏
