Thilanka Hotel

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Thilanka, Kandy, with a group of guests from different countries, and we are happy to say that we had a very pleasant experience. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the hotel team. Throughout our stay, the staff were friendly, helpful, and always willing to assist us with a smile. We truly appreciated the genuine warmth and hospitality extended to our group. We would like to extend our special thanks to Mr. Marcus Schuling for his warm welcome and assistance, and to Sakunthala, Shehani, Ashani, and Lakmal for their kind support whenever we needed help. Our sincere thanks also go to Mr. Chaminda Fernando, Manoj, Tharanga, Sarath, Nilantha, and the entire restaurant team for their friendly service and for taking such good care of our group during mealtimes. We are also grateful to Maduvinda and the housekeeping team for keeping our rooms clean, comfortable, and well maintained throughout our stay. What we appreciated most was the kindness and willingness of the staff to help. With guests travelling from different parts of the world, it was wonderful to see the team making an effort to ensure that everyone felt comfortable and welcome. We recently stayed at Thilanka Hotel, Kandy on a full-board basis and had a pleasant overall experience. The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of Sri Dalada Maligawa (Temple of the Tooth), approximately 1 km away. From the moment we arrived, the staff were very friendly and welcoming. We were greeted warmly and offered a refreshing welcome drink. Our rooms were also arranged before the scheduled check-in time, which was a nice touch. The rooms were clean, fresh, and well-maintained, with comfortable beds and good views. Sanitising items were also provided. However, the washroom facilities need some improvement. The flushing buttons were not working properly, and there were issues with water flow into the bathtub. The swimming pool area is one of the highlights of the hotel. The mountain and lake views from the pool are amazing and create a very relaxing atmosphere. Pool towels were provided, and the pool area was well looked after. The buffet was also good, with a nice selection of food. The dishes were tasty and delicious, and the full-board experience was enjoyable. Overall, we had a good stay, particularly because of the friendly customer service, clean rooms, beautiful pool views, convenient location, and enjoyable food. With some improvements to the washroom facilities, the overall experience could be even better. Thank you to the Thilanka Hotel team for the warm hospitality.

We had a lovely 2 night stay at Thilanka while on our Intrepid tour of Sri Lanka. The location of the hotel is a bit of a walk from the Lake but offers great views! Our room was comfortable and properly maintained by Gimhana, who was both friendly and courteous!! We had the buffet for 2 breakfasts and 1 dinner in the dinning room. The variety was very good and the food was tasty and hot! Enjoy your stay!!

One of the best hotels we’ve spent a vacation in. We luckily caught a half-board discounted offer. The buffet spread, the vibe and the music was amazing. Rooms were top quality. All amenities were available. The antique authentic style decor was beautiful! The service staff is super helpful and kind. We brought in a visitor to have some breakfast at the buffet and they even gave us a discount. The pool area, the view from the hotel and the space itself was top notch. Absolutely loved the experience.
