The Grand Kandyan

I was at the hotel from the 1st to 5th of October to attend the First World Congress on Snakes. Truly an amazing hotel living up to the 5 start status. Located at the top of a hillock literally, it can be seen from afar. I could see that there was ample parking. Everything about the hotel was spectacular. Though I did not stay in the rooms, I spent most of the time in the four conference halls, each competing with the other for opulence. The beams were designed to reduce echo. The dining facilities on the fourth floor are also beautiful. There are two dining rooms each with spectacular view. The food was great. Delicious, wth a lot a variety for vegans, vegetarians and humans alike. The staff were generally very cordial and accommodating for most requests. The rest rooms were so well maintained. The only thing that was awful was their Wifi facility. It was as absolute joke, with most delegates finding it poor. Barring that everything was Great.

I had an excellent stay at the Grand Kandyan. The service was exceptional throughout, with staff who were consistently friendly, attentive, and welcoming. The views from the rooftop are spectacular, offering a wonderful panorama of Kandy and the surrounding green hills. As a birder, I particularly enjoyed the birdlife visible from the rooftop. It was a real pleasure to spend time observing birds while taking in the scenery. The combination of outstanding hospitality, beautiful views, and opportunities to appreciate the surrounding nature made my stay especially memorable. I would happily stay here again and highly recommend it.

We had an exceptional experience at the reception when we were upgraded to a special suite just next to the pool and would like to mention the special efforts taken by Niroshika to make us comfortable and feel special. The pool was cold but staff was warm and hospitable. Excellent food and location. Enjoyed the stay.

I had an exceptional five night stay at the GK. Their hotel food is amazing the room and view was stunning and the hotel is gorgeous, sophisticated and clean. The staff are friendly and welcoming and easy to communicate with. I was recommended a safe and reliable tuk tuk driver through the hotel, Jenudeen. He knew all the best places to tour around to in the city and surrounding area and for a reasonable price. This all made for an exciting, comfortable and affordable stay during my time in Kandy. I was travelling solo as a female so this extra peace of mind in such a lovely place with lovely people was very appreciated.
