We were there for our honeymoon, the service since the moment we arrived till the moment we left was above expectations, so professional and always available to assist in anything. The team was so nice to surprise us with a cake at dinner. The food is excellent there, highly recommended. Would definitely come back again.

My visit to Taru Villa Kandy was a lovely experience. The high tea was excellent and beautifully presented, the food was delicious, and the service was attentive and welcoming. The only small observation I would make is that the staff were dressed entirely in black, which gave a slightly formal and less approachable impression. It’s a minor point, but a lighter uniform might create a warmer first impression. Overall, I would definitely recommend Taru Villa. They have a very interesting menu beyond afternoon tea, and it’s wonderful to have a boutique hotel of this standard in Kandy. I look forward to visiting again.
Such a gem in Kandy. Taru Villas has a beautiful boutique feel and a very relaxing atmosphere. The food was a highlight, we had a really good dinner and breakfast. The room was comfortable and quiet, and we all had an amazing night’s sleep. Highly recommended!
Absolutely stunning. Private villa feel & flair. The location is convenient in Kandy - some distant noise from the road. Rooms well equipped and very comfortable. The excellent food was outstanding. Each meal was a delight! Make sure to try the Sri Lankan curry!!! Andrew and the team went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Thank you.
Exceptional hotel and staff, a must for your bucket list We have been extremely fortunate to have spent a week at the Hotel Taru Villas in Kandy, Sri Lanka. It is conveniently situated close to the centre of Kandy which is a great place from which to explore the centre of the island. Many people make the mistake of only spending a couple of nights here during a tour and without exception, we heard them saying how much they wanted to stay longer. The staff were so welcoming, kind and yet professional and efficient, they worked together, seamlessly providing for our every comfort. They were proactive in their care for us and are a credit to the wonderfully friendly, yet professional Manager, Andrew Daniel. The atmosphere of this charming, historic home added to the feeling of being thoroughly spoilt. The rooms were spacious and stylish and, together with the communal spaces, were decorated with original artefacts and pictures, telling the stories of the original occupants. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and our room was impeccably attended to, largely by Lakshitha, always at a time to suit us. The food was truly outstanding and served by the most wonderful restaurant and bar staff, deserving special mentions are, Deepal and Sajie. Overall, the impressive quality of the service received was by far the best we have ever experienced and we don't say that lightly, we can recommend this hotel unreservedly and cannot wait to visit again. We were also helped during our stay by the most delightful receptionist, who also deserves a mention, Prashadi. Yes, there are some city sounds, due to the extremely convenient location but there was also so much birdsong. We recorded at least 8 exotic birds greeting us every morning! A real oasis, perfect for exploring the centre of Sri Lanka with day trips. We are looking forward to our next visit. Thank you all at Taru Villas.
