Melheim Resort Kandy

I and my family had a wonderful stay at Melheim Kandy Vilas in Kandy. We were very well taken care of. Our short stay was nothing short of wonderful thanks to particularly one individual Mr. Nissanka. He went out of his way to ensure that our food was prepared just to our liking as well as looking after us all through.

A Warm Welcome Cannot Compensate for Poor Food and Basic Connectivity Our experience at Melheim Kandy Hotel was unfortunately very disappointing. When we arrived, we received a very warm welcome. The staff were friendly, polite and supportive throughout our stay and genuinely tried their best to make us comfortable. The property itself is also comfortable, spacious and has good potential. However, the food quality, buffet service and connectivity seriously affected our experience. We stayed for two days on a half-board package, expecting food that would match the standard of a star-class hotel. Unfortunately, the food was far below our expectations. Breakfast was very limited, with bread, milk rice (without milk), noodles, chickpeas, eggs, pol sambol, dhal, chicken, fruit and juice. The variety was limited and the taste was not at the expected standard. Another major issue was the way the buffet food was managed. Only limited quantities seemed to be prepared. If you arrived at the right time, you were lucky to get the food. Otherwise, you had to wait for another batch to be prepared. Some items were not refilled at all. Even the soup was being served from what appeared to be an old rice cooker, which was not what we expected from a hotel of this category. On the first evening, we separately paid for Nasi Goreng, and surprisingly it was quite good. However, when we ordered similar food later, the taste and quality were completely different and disappointing. The second night's buffet dinner included rice, noodles, pasta, chicken, fish, dhal, wambatu moju, soup and dessert. Unfortunately, the taste was simply not good enough for the hotel's standard. Honestly, it felt below even a one-star dining experience. We informed the hotel about the food issues during dinner, but the response was not satisfactory. Since we were travelling with children, we separately paid and ordered biryani and Nasi Goreng for them, but those were also below the expected quality. We hoped breakfast would improve the following morning after our complaint. Unfortunately, it was almost the same as the previous day, and this time even the noodles were missing 😁. French toast was added, but the overall taste was still nothing special. It honestly felt like our complaint had made no difference. The mobile signal around the hotel is also extremely poor. Because of this, reliable Wi-Fi should be a priority. Unfortunately, the Wi-Fi coverage near our room was also very weak, around one bar, making internet usage difficult. The staff deserve credit for being friendly and supportive during our stay. They tried their best despite these shortcomings. Overall, the property has good potential, but the food quality, consistency, buffet management, food replenishment and Wi-Fi connectivity need significant improvement. For a hotel of this standard, we expected much more. The staff are doing their part, but management needs to address the issues that are beyond the staff's control. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend this hotel to anyone expecting a proper star-class hotel experience.

I have no words to truly express our stay at Melheim Villa, Kandy. First of all, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to every single team member at Melheim Villa for making us feel truly at home, away from home. Every member of the team went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable and filled with beautiful memories. When we contacted the team, we requested a very simple registration ceremony with our close family and friends( as a get together ). That was all we had planned. However, what awaited us was far beyond anything we could have imagined. As I walked down the pathway to the garden, I was completely overwhelmed. The beautiful flower arrangements blended perfectly with nature, the traditional oil lamp, the heart-shaped milk rice, and every thoughtful detail created such a magical atmosphere. There were so many special touches that it’s impossible to mention them all. We planned a simple family gathering, but the Melheim team transformed it into a truly unforgettable celebration. Every member of our family had an incredible experience, and everyone is still talking about how special the day was. A very special thank you to Mr. Udaya (Manager), Ms. Anupama, and Mr. Sampath. From the very first day until the moment we left, everything was perfectly planned, beautifully coordinated, and executed with genuine care. You made our special day even more special than we had ever imagined. Out sincere appreciation also goes to the Kitchen Team, Restaurant Team, Housekeeping Team, and every staff member who contributed to making our stay exceptional. I would also like to give a special mention to the thoughtful team member who prepared the ginger and sugar remedy when I lost my voice. Without your kindness, our engagement ceremony would not have been the same. Thank you also for thoughtfully arranging prayers for both Buddha and Jesus, which meant so much to us and reflected our first priority—our faith. How can I describe this place? ❤️ Great Experience

We had a engagement ceremony at Melhim villas kandy Today. The moment I entered the lobby till checkout moment , supervised by me . Lobby was super clean and neat.My hart was full because I entered the clean and interesting place while i have to mention the atmosphere it was super nice too it has old srilankan touch and stuffed ancient furnitures. There was a nice swimming pool with 4ft. We spent a great time at the pool premises as well.Next was the food.. Guys Tust me foods were super delicious . Hart touched one was sweetcorn with eggdrop soup. ( i had twice 😉 ) . We had verify of foods fot our Dinner and Breakfast . Specially i wanted to mention the kitchen staff . Honestly i had forgotten to ask their names. There was a tall fair in complexion boy who worked at kitchen i ask him that about the dressing for salads and he humbly answered me.. If someone who reads this comment please give my vote of thaks to him. Specially Restaurant staff. They poured warm water to us before our glass end . That was the most highlighting point . I requested their service too many times. Because my Grandma can not walk properly so i asked them to clean the plates, arrange the cutlerys ... etc. They full filled all the requirements that i asked for.. And there was a lady with curly hair i asked her to open the door for my cousins because they left the key infront of the party area. I knoe she was super tired but with smile face she opened the door for them.. This is a feild that the people who show their humble , Flexibility, humanity .. So i felt Melhim kandy villa's staff did it very well. I am recommended it to everyone specially who have a idea to stay with family because i can surly let you guys know that melhim staff will takr care your family very well. Good Job Melhim Villas.
