Kings Pavilion

From March 9th, we checked in at the wonderful Kings Pavillion for two nights - and what a place! It felt like living in a small oasis with your own soul. The hotel had a charming pool, and the food was very gourmet-like. The biggest surprise, however, was the housekeeper, who must have had a secret career as a towel artist. Every day, new, creative animal creatures made from towels appeared—small works of art that made us smile broadly. Impressive and incredibly nice. The staff was also both professional and warm, just as you hope for when you are traveling. From the hotel, we had the perfect starting point to explore Kandy. We visited Kandy House, the beautiful Kandy Lake, the majestic Bahirawakanda Buddha statue and the sacred Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic. And of course, we headed to the Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya – a place where even the most plant-blind feel a little botanical.

Silent luxury – this term perfectly describes it. The boutique hotel Kings Pavilion is located just 2.5 km from the center of Kandy, in a villa district with breathtaking views. The hotel is very stylishly furnished, blending contemporary architecture with Sri Lanka's rich cultural heritage. Numerous works of art and artifacts adorn the building. The staff is very friendly and attentive, and the owners are pleasant and discreet. The cuisine is outstanding! A swim in the 20-meter pool is a dream, especially before breakfast when the rainforest hills are still shrouded in the night mist. Treat yourself to the 150 m² Kings Suite, and you will never forget your stay in Kandy. World-class!

I had an incredible stay at King’s Pavilion Kandy. truly one of those places that leaves a lasting impression. Waking up here is something special. Sitting with a cup of coffee on top of the mountain, overlooking the beautiful city of Kandy, is a feeling that’s honestly hard to put into words. The views are absolutely breathtaking and make every morning unforgettable. What really made the experience stand out was the warmth and hospitality of the entire team. From the moment I arrived, I felt completely at home. To top it off, they even upgraded my room without me asking, which just shows the level of care and attention they give their guests. A special shoutout to Lahiru Sanjeewa for being an amazing host throughout my entire stay he truly went above and beyond. Overall, an exceptional experience. I highly recommend staying here if you’re visiting Kandy.

We had the most incredible stay at King’s Pavilion. The entire resort felt so private and pristine that it honestly felt like our own little sanctuary tucked away in nature. Our room was beautiful, spacious, calming. Waking up there every morning was such a dream. We felt so genuinely cared for throughout our stay. Manager Malintha and restaurant manager Hansika went above and beyond for us in the kindest, most thoughtful ways. Every morning we were served a different breakfast. So elaborate, so delicious, and such a highlight of our trip (the curries!!) Housekeeping deserves a special mention too. Our room was always spotless, and every day we returned to a new towel animal waiting for us. What truly made our stay unforgettable was how warm and genuine all the staff were. Everyone was always smiling, always ready to help, and it made us feel so at home. I honestly would go back to Kandy just to stay at King’s Pavilion again.
