Our stay at this hotel in Sri Lanka was extremely disappointing. We slept terribly due to the uncomfortable beds and constant noise, and the room itself was far from clean. There was a strong smell of humidity everywhere, which made the stay even more unpleasant.
The breakfast was completely overpriced at $10 per person, especially considering the poor quality. There were ants in the fruit, which is absolutely unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one charging such prices.
Overall, the experience was a disaster. I do not recommend this place to anyone. No one should stay here.
Our experience at this hotel was absolutely wonderful. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth and professionalism. The staff members were incredibly polite, friendly, and always ready to assist with anything we needed.
The rooms were clean, spacious, and very comfortable, providing a perfect environment to relax after a long day. Every detail, from the bedding to the amenities, reflected the hotel’s commitment to quality and guest satisfaction.
One of the highlights of our stay was the excellent service. Whether it was room service, housekeeping, or the front desk, everyone went above and beyond to make us feel at home. The food was also delicious and freshly prepared, adding an extra touch of delight to our stay.

the owner of the property has the large hill land so he build it with outstanding interior and exterior decoration. stuffs are very nice and amazing.

also the owners family of the hotel live in the property in their own house.
they have a lot of decorated space for common usage like swimming pool several living area and a big hall room. we don't need to stay inside your hotel room all the time. it is like not a hotel but a full Resort. I really find nothing to complain about.
if you come to Candy and want to take rest in a very nice hotel then definitely come here because in for such a cheap rate you will never get such a large space of hotel.
Hotel Sunray, Kandy – Great Stay and Excellent Service
Our stay at Hotel Sunray in Kandy was fantastic. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and spacious, making for a relaxing stay. The manager was especially helpful in arranging our travel plans, which made exploring Kandy much easier. Though we didn’t have time to use the pool, it looked like a great place to unwind. The hotel’s location is ideal, just a short distance from the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic and other key attractions. Overall, a great experience, and we’d definitely recommend it to other travelers!
Visited for lunch and to use their pool for a few hours. Should have read previous reviews and the manager's 'responses' to them, then we wouldn't have come. We left before food arrived, as we were informed after 45 min of waiting that they didn't have what we ordered from their quite expensive menu. No drinks had been offered. By then I was getting bad vibes as everything is dirty - tables, pool, bathrooms. Their aquariums and fish ponds are so dirty you literally can't see the fish inside. No other guests seen.
The staff are young kids trying their best and I feel sorry for them, it is clearly an improperly maintained hotel and untrained staff. It has great original design and it probably has been a very nice place at some point in time. Hopefully with some hard work it will become so again.
