Private Transfer Kanazawa To Takayama Including Shirakawago

**Kumiko was simply outstanding.** Kumiko drove us from Kanazawa to Takayama and made a stop at the beautiful village of Shirakawa-go along the way — and honestly, she turned what could have been a simple transfer into one of the true highlights of our entire trip to Japan. Her knowledge was incredible: she explained everything about the region, its history, and local traditions with so much detail and genuine passion, and she knew exactly the best spots for photos — places we never would have found on our own. Whatever question we asked, she had a thoughtful, well-informed answer. But what struck us most was her warmth. As Europeans, we're simply not used to this level of genuine kindness, attentiveness, and helpfulness — it was almost overwhelming (in the very best possible way). She made us feel completely taken care of the entire day. If you have the chance to be guided by Kumiko, take it without hesitation. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. Thank you Kumiko

Hired a private driver to take us from Kanazawa to Takayama. Yuta was exceptional, spoke great English and was funny and knowledgeable. Had a great time!

Our driver Ian picked us and all our luggage up on time in a very comfortable car. We stopped at Shirakawago Village on the way and he gave us a great guided tour. He was very informative and polite. This was a fantastic way to travel and see something on the way!

Perfect service. Our drive guide was extremely ponctual, diligent, warm and knowledgeable. She accompanied us at all times, providing details about everything. Impeccable car and and excellent driving in winter conditions, after heavy snowfall. We could not have had a better experience, strongly recommend.

We were a family of 3 adults and a baby needing to get from Kanazawa to Takayama and this car transfer option was fantastic as it was shorter then the train journey and included Shirakawago. Yuka picked us up on time. The car was clean and spacious, with a baby car seat as requested. Yuka was a careful driver and knowledgable guide. She was kind and very attentive to our needs with the baby and was flexible. Her lunch recommendation of a soba restaurant at Shirakawago was excellent. Thank you Yuka!

Great experience with our private transfer from Kanazawa to Takayama, including Shirakawa-go and an additional stop to see another gassho-style house. Appreciated the ease of pickup with all of our baggage from our hotel in the morning, and not having to worry about transit to our next stop. The additional stop to another gassho-style house was the highlight of our transfer, as it was outside of the typical tourist route and so was very private.

Kumiko "Ku" was a fantastic guide. She started the trip by giving me a packet with lots of information and some brochures regarding Shirakawa and Takayama. She made sure to ask my preferences as we were doing things. She was very joyful and energetic. Provided lots of explanations about what we were seeing. Again, she was fantastic. Highly recommend this experience. Also, the door to door from my hotel in Kanazawa to my hotel in Takayama was really nice way to travel.

Tetsuro-san speaks very good English and was genuinely a pleasure to speak to. As a native Japanese, he has great insights to share!

Opted for this tour as it was so easy with our bags to go in a car with driver. Our driver was punctual, polite, considerate for WC breaks, informative, good manner, good driving & a professional. He help make an amazing day for us. I would recommend this trip & our driver. 10/10

Our Japan tour was terrific! Everything, from our accommodations and food (we loved the food!) to what we experienced, exceeded expectations. We had three different guides. They were all excellent. But Nozomi was, by far, our favorite. There wasn’t a question she couldn’t answer. Her knowledge of everything Japanese was astounding. Whatever we wanted to do, she made it happen, willingly compromising the pre-booked agenda. But what her special was her smile, her energy and her warmth. I simply can’t say enough good things about her. She became a special friend. Nozomi is the “best of the best”as a tour guide, and more importantly, as a human being. She is wonderful! We had an exceptional afternoon exploring Shirakawa-go with Mai, our driver/guide (who was excellent, by the way). She epitomized kindness, punctuality, and helpfulness. Mai's extensive knowledge and willingness to address our inquiries made our experience even more enriching. She went above and beyond to accommodate our needs, not only by taking us to our hotel and helping with our luggage but also by dropping us off at the car rental office. This private transfer to Takayama and visit to Shirakawa-go will undoubtedly become one of the most cherished memories of our Japanese journey.

Sachiko was our tour guide and driver, she did an awesome job. She was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions.

It was the best tour that we took in Japan. Yuka was the perfect tour guide. We learned more on this day about Japan, then the two weeks before. She was kind, knowledgeable and very helpful and she went out of her way to make it a perfect day for us. We highly recommend it.

Our trip was a treat . We were collected at our hotel by Yuta, a fluent English speaking guide who couldn't do enough for us. He were brought to shirakawago in a very comfortable car with Yuta keeping us informed of various sights along the way. When we arrived , the whole visit was peppered with interesting facts about the life and culture of those that used to and to some extent still live here. We visited one of the houses which was a treat. There is so much to gain from having someone providing those deeper insights. We wandered around on our own too so gave us the space to just enjoy our surroundings. We moved on to Hida-Furukiwa where we had a delicious lunch with handmade soba noodles , a speciality of the region and one that was warmly enjoyed ... (We were cold by then :)). On to Takayama which has so much going for it. I can't recommend Yuta and Kanazawa Tours enough. All handled so well. We enjoyed every minute. Thank you .
