Kanazawa: Omicho Market & Geisha District Cultural Walk

Great personal walking tour through the market and district. We didn't realize that the market closed at 4pm though, so we had very little time there. And many shops were already closed. But our guide explained the food options and showed us around. He was very friendly and had many wonderful recommendations for the area.

Our guide, Aiko was excellent. She was already waitinfor us, although we arrived earlier. She gave to each of us an audio set, so we can hear her clearly. She was very well prepared and very knowledgeable! She also has a sweat character and her English is excellent.

A really interesting and funny trip with Aiko. She well knows about food and Geisha history. She gave us great recommendations for tasting traditional food.

Our guide, Aiko, was great - friendly and knowledgeable. The tour of the geisha area was excellent. The market was interesting but calling this tour a food tour was misleading as food wasn't included (as is usual in our experience). Rather the guide suggested lots of options to buy food which was awkward and unexpected. Suggest removing the words 'food tour' as the tour was otherwise good.

This tour was fun and very informative. Aiko is a wonderful guide. She is energetic and speaks English very well.

It was not a food tour. We felt we were miss sold this experience. The guide seemed to have no idea we expected to taste some food. When we said we had hoped to try food he suggested we get a sushi board from a nearby restaurant. It was so far from what we were expecting we left after 25 minutes. I have asked for a refund so will see if this is given and how good their customer service is. Very disappointing experience unfortunately. But at least we did not waste too much time as well as money.

Aiko and Yuji did a great job doing the tour. We were translating from Japanese, English and Spanish and everyone had a great time. We tried multiple food items and they checked in often to see what we wanted

Aiko san tour is so fun It was very informative

We were the only two on the tour do we had the guide, Aiki, to ourselves. She was so knowledgeable, answered all of our very many questions about Japan and its culture. We learned a great deal and had a very enjoyable experience.

Aiko was a great guide. She spoke perfect English and gave us audio devices which meant we could hear her clearly. We were able to sample some of the goods on the market stalls in the fish market and buy some hot snacks. We then visited the Geisha district and learned more about that culture. Aiko was very informative and able to answer our more general questions on Japan. She was also interested to hear our thoughts. I would highly recommend a tour with her.

A great tour of the fish market and geisha district. Aiko was the best guide! Her English was perfect and she answered all the questions. She showed us the best places to get food at the market and gave us a lot of historical information about Kanazawa. Recommend for anyone.

Wonderful experience and guide was knowledgeable

This was a sub-par experience. The tour guide didn’t provide any commentary on the sights, quite literally just walking us through the market without any info or context, and then to the geisha district for the same thing again. Note that there’s no food included but the description says it is. Really disappointing experience.

If you will have time please try this nicely tour I suggest it

Had a great guided tour around Kanazawa, there was lots to see and eat. Aiko was an amazing tour guide and helped educate us on local food. She also gave lots of recommendations for places to eat and visit during our trip!
