During a hands-on workshop, create your own gold leaf souvenir with guidance from local artisans. Continue through the atmospheric streets around Higashi Chaya District and along the Asano River. Discover stories of samurai culture, merchant life, local customs, and perspectives that many visitors miss when exploring alone. Finish at Morihachi, a prestigious wagashi shop founded over 400 years ago. We had a great visit with Aiko, who is very kind, attentive, and particularly thoughtful with our children! We were able to learn how to do gold leafing on different objects, it was very nice. And a very good visit of the city center and the typical streets, I recommend it!

Our guide Momo was very knowledgeable and helpful, with an excellent command of English so there was no language barrier. The gold leaf workshop was particularly fun, a new and original way to learn about local traditions while simultaneously creating your own personalized souvenir.
It was pretty good. The gold experience was great, super interesting and fun. As for the Geisha district walk, it was good, but perhaps I would have liked much more information about the Geishas, their history, and their present day. For the price, I would have liked more information. Our guide was Momo and she was a total genius!
