Our guide Jorge was amazing. He was very personable, organized, accommodating to our needs and his language skills were superb (english, japanese, spanish, french canadian). Jorge's knowledge of Kanazawa gave us a detailed historical walking tour through the Samurai district, Kanazawa castle, and Kenrokuen garden, while avoiding the typical tourist traps and crowds. Our group of 6 highly recommend this tour.
Karolina was first class. She was super flexible with the itinerary and took us to a few hidden places where is was less busy. Her knowledge was excellent. I’d recommend her 100%.
Akari was an incredible guide! She was knowledgeable, welcoming, and everything you would want in a tour guide. She has been in Kanazawa for 13 years so knows the city inside and out. We feel lucky to have had her as our guide!
We had such a wonderful experience exploring Kanazawa with Marina! She is an incredibly warm, kind, and intelligent woman with an impressive knowledge of the city’s history and culture. You can really tell how well she knows Kanazawa and how passionate she is about sharing its stories. Her English was excellent, and she explained everything so clearly and engagingly, which made the entire experience even more enjoyable. It was truly a pleasure discovering this beautiful city through her eyes. Everything was also perfectly organized by the agency, making the whole experience seamless and relaxing. We are so grateful for the wonderful time we had with Marina and would absolutely book with her and her agency again on our next visit to Japan. Thank you so much for making our time in Kanazawa so special! ❤️
Josh is from the UK, so he is sensitive to the unique things about Japan and can share his thoughts easily. We had a very helpful and enjoyable walking tour that reflected our particular interests. At the end of our two hour tour we wished we had booked longer. Highly recommend.
Due to the marathon, meeting our guide was difficult. The tour itself was just what we’d asked for. Scout contacted us before we arrived so we could get exactly what we wanted. She was knowledgeable, engaging, interested in lots of subjects. Couldn’t ask for better. Ask for Scout when you book. You won’t regret it.
We had a wonderful morning with Akari. It felt as if we were exploring Kanazawa with a friend. The personalized nature of the tour was great and allowed us to focus on our interests. We visited both the Geiko/Maiko and the Samurai districts. Akari was highly knowledgeable and encouraged us to explore at our own pace. She also provided advice about food, shopping, other areas to explore, and the bus system. We highly recommend this tour and Akari.
Selda was a wonderful guide. She was patient, kind, knowledgeable and accommodating. We enjoyed exploring the market, temples, and the Samurai and Geisha districts with her.
Marina was very knowledgeable and friendly. The pace was just right for our 4 hour excursion, We saw everything we wanted and she was very flexible. (We stopped for a coffee and cake at one point 😋 😀). We would recommend her to others.
We had such a fun and informative day!! Akari knew all the best places to visit. She timed the attractions to miss the crowds. She helped us with selections at the fish market that were yummy. An unforgettable day!
Fabulous tour with Yuzuki. Engaging, enthuastic & knowledgable. Share his journey & experience of Kanazawa as well as information on the culture & history. Rain & a marathon did not daunt Yuzuki or us. Gave us ideas to return to see on a clearer next day. Thanks Yuzuki
I would highly recommend this tour to those, like my wife, friends, and I, who are visiting Kanazawa for the first time. It was exactly what we were looking for. Our tour guide, Ange, was very personable, engaging and knowledgeable. She provided myriad interesting insights about Kanazawa’s history and culture, and answered all of our questions with the ease and thoughtfulness of someone who knows these subjects well. She tailored our 5-hour walking tour to what we were most interested in seeing, which included the Samurai and Geisha districts, the old local neighborhoods, and the Omicho Market. Throughout the day we also ran across a number of interesting shops and places to sample local delicacies. Her tour served as a springboard for us to explore other places in the city. In short, it was time very well spent.
Kanazawa is a gem not to be overlooked & Katie was a wonderful guide. She was knowledgeable, prepared & enthusiastic.
Josh was a great host. He really listened to what we wanted, planned a perfect itinerary and was very flexible during the tour when we decided we wanted a sit-down lunch- and he picked the PERFECT place to eat. We loved our tour!

We had a wonderful day with Akari. She was such a great guide. So friendly, knowledgeable and she adapted the tour to exactly what we wanted. We leant so much about the history and culture of Kanazawa. Would definitely recommend this tour esp if you are lucky enough to get Akari!
Yukari was so sweet and knowledgeable. We enjoyed the history and the beautiful Kenroku-en garden with all the various trees, waterfalls and canals! Fortunately the rain held off for a great day!
Yuzuki was a wonderful guide. We loved how he showed us his town with passion, including hidden places that we would have never found. We can only recommend a walking tour with Yuzuki.
Good tour to 3 most prominent site in Kanazawa. Guide was well informed and very helpful even post tour. Recommended
We enjoyed our tour with Iku very much. We saw many beautiful and interesting places. Iku was very accommodating to our needs and was very knowledgeable about the area and history in general. I highly recommend this tour.
Thank you Marina for a wonderful walking tour around Kanazawa. We were able to say where we wanted to go and you obliged, even in very wet weather! Your love for your home city shone through and we learnt a lot about the areas we visited. A fantastic way to get to know a new place, especially if short of time. Highly recommend.
We had the best day with Marina in Kanazawa! She had contacted me in advance to learn what we were interested in and designed a tour that fulfilled all of interests. She met us promptly and was warm and fun to get to know. Marina was very knowledgeable about the city and its history. We enjoyed touring and ended our tour with a wonderful lunch experience. It was the highlight of our trip so far.
Suggest you meet guide at your hotel lobby which is a very specific place rather than at a historical site which may be sprawling. Angelica was an excellent knowledgeable guide with great English skills. We enjoyed our tour of the samurai district.
Selda took us on informative historical and culturally sensitive tours of 2 geiko/geisha districts and samurai districts. Her vast knowledge and kind demeanour were very much appreciated. We highly recommend Selda!
Kanazawa is a great day trip from Kyoto to see undisturbed historic sites. It’s a good break from the bigger cities. Our guide was a native of Kanazawa and she was fun to talk to. She knew her city very well.
Akari was superb for us and arranged to meet at the hotel! Loads of interesting facts about the Samarai district and hints about what to do with the rest of our stay! Thanks Akari!
Akari was our tour guide. She was amazing! She explained everything in detail and showed us so much. One of the best tours of our trip!
Very worthwhile way to get a comprehensive. educational overview of Kanazawa in a short amount of time and tailored to your personal needs/interests. Our guide, Sho, was very responsive immediately after booking (prior to actual activity) to ascertain our goals and create an itinerary that worked for us. He was well-organized, on time, courteous and very prepared with educational information. Our half-day, private guided tour of Kanazawa was one of the best prearranged activities we scheduled for our second trip 10 day trip to Japan. Our highest recommendation is given to this tour and to the tour guide. Kanazawa is such a fantastic city to visit; it's definitely worth it to have a local, experienced professional showing you the highlights.
Nice three hour tour of some of the highlights in Kanazawa - we enjoyed having Sho for a guide, and appreciated his expertise of local history.
Good way to see Kanazawa using public transport. Our guide Sho made every effort to show us all the sights and share information in spite of heavy rain.
Perfect day. Our guide, Sho, did an outstanding job corresponding with us in advance and tailoring the itinerary to our interests and pace. The day was well planned, extremely enjoyable and very educational. We give our highest recommendation to this experience and our guide, Sho!
We have a great day in Kanazawa guided by Marina. We had a great chat of all the culture and customs here in Kanazawa. Thanks a lot!
Marina was absolutely adorable! As a local from Kanazawa, she explained everything so clearly and patiently, sharing so much insight into the city’s history, culture, and hidden gems. She really helped us understand and appreciate the local sights on a much deeper level. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide and highly recommend her!
I did a private tour with Yuzuki and it was the highlight of my time in Kanazawa. He was friendly, entertaining, and made the whole day feel effortless and fun. His passion for the city came through in every story he told. What made the tour stand out was how personal it felt. It was clearly tailored to my interests rather than a standard route, and he showed me corners of the city I never would have found on my own. Kanazawa is a beautiful place, and with Yuzuki as a guide it felt truly special instead of just another stop on the itinerary. I highly recommend booking him, especially if you want a more personal, local perspective. Thank you, Yuzuki!
Really flexible and very interesting. Good mix of experiences and lots of great information from Arika. She was a delightful person and we really enjoyed the morning with her.
This was a great experience to learn the Japanese geisha and samurai culture. Our guide was Selda and she explained each detail and made a program what we wanted to see and to learn. We enjoyed so much and definitely recommend to have this tour to learn the history and the culture.
We had a short 2 hour walking tour but it was packed with information and sights we would not have seen on our own. Yuzuki was very flexible with the tour adapting as we went and were grateful to be able to get recommendations from him post tour as well.
We had specific requests about what we wanted to see in the city. These were tailored to our individual needs. So it wasn’t a standard tour, which was really great! The guide was also very knowledgeable, friendly and spoke fluent English. It was brilliant!
Katie was such a lovely guide. We would have found it very difficult to find our way around Kanazawa without her. She tailored our day to activities and sights that kept our boys interested and pointed out good places to eat and shop along the way. We had great communication and also took photos for us and sent them to me afterwards. Highly recommend. Amber, Australia.
My husband & I had a very enjoyable & comfortable comprehensive tour of the historic Geisha districts with our friendly & professional guide Marina. She was able to add to our knowledge & understanding of the many facets of Japanese culture in a relaxed conversational manner. Marina's memorable tour is a highlight of our trip to Japan. Thankyou Marina✨
Maria was very knowledgeable and gave us amazing insight into Kanazawas history
An absolutely wonderful experience in Kanazawa. Our guide was knowledgeable, warm, and incredibly engaging, bringing the city’s history and culture to life. Everything was perfectly organized. Highly recommended!
Sho was an excellent tour guide for my son and I during our Japan vacation. He was personable, knowledgeable, and quite informative. We enjoyed our time with him immensely. Would recommend again. 10 out of 10.
Had a lovely afternoon with Akari who took us through the beautiful geisha and samurai districts - wonderful to have her insight about both areas. She showed us some shops along the way where we got some beautiful things to bring home. Perfect afternoon!
Sho was an excellent tour guide! He was standing in the lobby with his name tag waiting for us as promised. He was knowledgeable, courteous, and entertaining. We absolutely enjoyed all of our time with him and would gladly take another tour with him again. 10 out of 10.
This tour is the best way to learn about Kanazawa's history and to esplore its districts. Kanazawa was our first stop after Tokyo and the tour gave us a taste of authentic japanese culture, which will definitely serve us in our next stop, Kyoto. Our guide Akari was amazing, she made sure to explain everything going down into details, without it ever getting boring, and she always adjusted to our preferences and interests.
A great evening tour of a shrine, the Geisha district and neighbouring areas. Loic frim France (having lived in Kanazawa for 15+ years) was knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommend.
Our three hour walking tour of Kanazawa provided us with the perfect context to better understand the city and its history. Our tour guide Loic was both lively and highly informed. Touring the geisha district and the castle gardens, we learned a lot and saved a bunch of bookmarks to head back to and explore further with our remaining time here in the city. Thank you!
Natsuka was lovely, taking time to find out what we were interested in and wanted to see and then making sure the tour included those things. She was very knowledgeable on all aspects of local life from the Samurai to the local crafts and craftsmen to the gardens. She took us to the food hall and explained Japanese food - what it is made of and how it's prepared, as well as trying some lovely items that we wouldn't normally buy. A very enjoyable few hours with a lovely lady.
