Kanazawa Night Foodie Tour (Private Option Available)

Had a great evening on this tour, my only complaint was the need to request information on what we were being served. Many times I needed to ask "and what is this"? We had two local tour operators also on our trip so I'm unsure if this meant the guide forgot we didn't all know what everything was. However, that aside it was a great evening, we visited three venues, had ample amounts of food and loved finishing at the Sake bar.

We had a great time! Our guide was patient and polite. He showed us various delicious dishes, refreshing drinks and shared stories about the city. Definitely recommend to anyone wanting to experience the city through a local's eye.

We had a wonderful time and the meals at the restaurants were very nice. The staff at the establishments were very nice and friendly. Our guide Fumi was very genuine and enthusiastic explaining all the different things to know.

Throughly enjoyed tasting so many dishes, things I would have not chosen myself. Katie was an excellent guide, not only explaining each dish but also gave me insight regarding the history of Kanazawa.

We really enjoyed this food tour. We ended up being the only customers booked that evening, but our guides Misa and Tomo were great company. We liked the walk through the samurai district and enjoyed the three food stops. We requested no raw fish and they were able to accommodate this for us. We tried some new things we otherwise wouldn't have tried and it was an overall excellent evening out.

I can’t recommend this enough! Such an amazing introduction to Kanazawa food, drinks, and history. I strongly recommend this for anyone visiting Kanazawa for the first time (or 2nd, 3rd,etc). Our tour guide was friendly, encouraging, and insightful. We left knowing we wouldn’t have had the local Kanazawa experience without this tour. Special shout out to Katie, for making this night so special!

My partner and I were guided by Katie, whose knowledge of the history and culture of Kanazawa was incredible. We truly felt like we got to see a side of the area that we might not have normally explored and learned so much. The included food stops had such a great range of authentic Japanese food and we had a really fun time swapping stories with Katie and sharing in different foods along the way. We finished the night at a sake bar which felt hidden away and as sake lovers, it was the perfect end to the night! Thank you again Katie for your wonderful tour, we had a magical time in Kanazawa and hope to return again someday.

The Foodie Tour was a perfect way to experience small business contributions to the Kanazawa community. Katie was a very knowledgeable guide and made the night even more special. The first restaurant we visited had delicious small gourmet dishes that were mouthwatering. The brewery was small, lively and with great pub fare! Lastly the 8 seat Sake bar, with matcha sweets, and Sake sommelier was amazing! This tour with the help of our excellent guide could be your best experience in Kanazawa.

Amazing food and drink at small independent restaurants and bars.

Jakes was a wonderful hostess , We walked through the samurai district to our first stop at a family run restaurant and it was incredible We then walked thru the narrow winding streets to our next stop with a plethora of food and sake! We then were back on the Main Street going up a hidden elevator to a 8 stool sake bar. The host was gracious and accommodating to our lack of language and constant questions He showed us how to make matcha and even let me do my own! It’s harder than it looks Overall a most fulfilling evening. I give Katie a 10! It was a Magical Night

Had a great night tasting the food and flavours of Kanazawa. Explored different areas of the city while enjoying delicious food. Samurai district, Japanese comfort food and a tiny sake bar! Would highly recommend this tour.

We did a night foodie tour with Katie and loved it. We had so much food and drink, almost too much!! Katie is knowledgeable and fun, we had a great time learning and chatting with her - it’s a great way to see the city. Would definitely reccomend!

Such a great experience from beginning to end. Great local multi course meal, stop at a lively Isakawa and perfect end at a Sake bar.

Excellent food and very knowledgeable guide. Would go again. Tour was about 3.5 hours and both of us loved it. Great to see the samurai district at night in the wintertime.

We had a wonderful evening learning about Kanazawa and the regional food. Our guide was knowledgeable and accommodating. Highly recommend spending the evening experiencing the city from a local! It makes the city come alive in a new way and helps you appreciate what makes Japan so special. We went to local spots we may have missed.

This was an excellent tour with highly a knowledgeable guide (Tetsuya) and several interesting stops for some excellent local food and drink options. Our group were not big drinkers but there were non-alcoholic choices too. Definitely a tour for those who like exploring Japanese good food and drink - and some interesting small bars.

Wonderful tour around Kanazawa with various delicious foods and drinks to try! Hikonyan-san guided us through numerous beautiful locations and restaurants and shared interesting details about the food. We had an incredible time and got to explore locations we would have not otherwise known about. It was great to have the expertise of Hikonyan-san to learn more about Kanazawa's cuisine.

I ended up being the only guest, but Hikonyan made it an awesome experience. We had a ton of great food and drinks, explored the samurai district, and he had so much knowledge to share. Super friendly, laid-back, and gave great suggestions for what to check out after. Felt like hanging out with a local friend—highly recommend!

Tetsuya led a very interesting and informative night through Kanazawa. We had a great evening and the final stop at the sake bar was a lot of fun. Highly recommended.

Ich hatte eine private Tour, da sonst niemand gebucht hatte. Man geht in 2 Restaurants, beide sehr authentisch. Im ersten gibt es ein Menü mit gegrilltem Fisch, Sashimi, cool Soba, Tempura……2 drinks included. Second Restaurant offers the specialty of Knazawa „Odon“ a broth with different ingredients, again 2 drinks. At the end we went to a Sale bar and you can choose from a sake flight with 3 and one with 5 different Sake plus some sweets. We walked through the Samurai district which was nice. My Guide Tetsuya was the best. Extremely enthusiastic about Kanazawa his history and his food. I had great conversations with him. Afteralll I think the price is a little high but I enjoyed my evening!

I had an amazing evening with Rai and Genki. The day started chilly and rainy, and the oden along with the warm conversations were a perfect way to end the day. I wish I stayed in Kanazawa longer and had the opportunity to explore more restaurants with Rai and Genki. I highly recommend!

This foodie tour was truly an amazing experience. Rai was clearly very passionate and extremely knowledgeable about Japanese food culture and history. It was evident to me that he had carefully chosen the restaurants and sake bars we visited. Given the fact that Rai had established personal relationships with the owners, I wouldn’t have been able to gain access to the restaurants on my own. Not only did I enjoy his company, he also gave me a unique and an unforgettable food experience. I can highly recommend this tour.
