Katie provided a good overview tour of Kanazawa during our port stop. I recommend this tour when you visit Kanazawa

Itinerary
Begin your private walking experience with a local host who knows the city intimately. Designed for first-time visitors, this flexible and personalized tour introduces you to Kanazawa’s nature, history, and cultural traditions. Here's how your day might unfold:
Stroll through the forested slopes of Utatsuyama Park, known for its tranquil walking paths and over 100 species of native wildflowers. A serene start to your exploration of the city’s green spaces.
Enjoy sweeping views of the city from Bokodai Observatory. Your host will share how this hillside area plays a vital role in supporting local craftspeople and preserving Kanazawa’s artisan heritage.
Cross one of Kanazawa’s most iconic bridges. With picturesque views of the Asano River and surrounding architecture, this scenic spot offers a perfect photo opportunity and a glimpse into local life.
Explore one of Kanazawa’s historic geisha districts. This small but rich museum offers insights into the training, lifestyle, and performance traditions of geisha and maiko (apprentices), both past and present.
Conclude your experience in this beautifully preserved teahouse district along the Asano River. Narrow alleyways, wood-built architecture, and a peaceful atmosphere reflect the elegant blend of traditional and modern Japan.

The experience was advertised to be a personalized tour, and I was really looking forward to exploring particular areas. The guide was very pushy about not going to those areas, and while he was well informed on the spots we went to, it did not feel like the experience that was advertised. Unfortunately my partner and I also felt like he was not respectful of our culture (we are American) he made a lot of comments and jokes that were not relevant to the tour. I was really looking forward to the tour so it was disappointing to have this experience, especially since the company had reached out to me to ask what we were specifically interested in.
Excellent walking tour, with some hidden gems off the beaten path. Geisha and samurai districts were good sights.
Katie was an amazing tour guide! She gave lots of great information that we would’ve otherwise missed on our own. Very knowledgeable about the gardens and the different districts! Highly recommend!!
Our guide, Katie was kind, adaptable and patient with all of our questions and the two paces set by our party. We explored the samurai district, Ken-Roken garden and Omochi market. She gave great tips of places to explore outside of our tour and introduced us to some yummy seafood treats. 10/10 recommend.
We had a wonderful evening stroll through the historic areas with Yuzuki. We found him very knowledgeable about the history of the area. Really enjoyed the back streets in the evening light and loved that we were able to enter the temples after dark, an unexpected experience. Ended the evening in an Izakaya, so fun!!! Thank you!
Akari was very friendly and knowledgeable. It was a good walking pace. She also had great recommendations for cafes and bakeries! Would love to come back to Kanazawa and learn more
Fun time. Little over 3 hours Host is very friendly. The park had an extra cost. Chilly day, but still very beautiful. Not crowded at all.
We had a really wonderful time with Akari, knowledgeable and engaging. She matched her pace to our group, and took time to answer our questions
The four hours were super nice and Megumi knew a lot about Kanazawa her hometown. She speaks englisch very well and if I would stay longer I would book her again. A Solo tour is alsqays super nice as very persona questions and time schedule - she helped me order my first sushi at the Omicho Fischmarket 😊 delicious
I didn’t know where to start with Kanazawa with such a short time frame. We were put in touch with Katie, where we did a survey to see what activities would be suitable for our preferences and then chose from there. With some scheduling issues (on our end with transport) she was very accommodating and changed meeting times and also met us at our hotel. She is kind, full of knowledge of the Kanazawa history, area and best food spots! Once our tour with Katie was over she was very helpful with giving us information on the buses and transport around town. I would recommend this tour and hopefully you are us lucky us to get Katie for a guide.
Iku was a fabulous guide. She curated my tour based on my interests and was extremely knowledgeable about my niche interests.
We had such a wonderful experience with our guide, Akari. We loved being able to shape our tour around our preferred interests, and we had so much FUN! Akari was knowledgeable, enthusiastic and a delight to spend time with. Her willingness to share insights and answer our questions truly deepened our understanding of the culture and sights. Having that context made everything more meaningful. We highly recommend this tour with Akari to anyone visiting Kanazawa!
Nice tour with an interesting and friendly guide. Beautiful park with some delicious shaved ice together.
Not boring at all! Very interesting. The explanation is very usefull and compact. The hidden jems were wonderfull
Wonderful! The guide was lively, informative and interesting. I would highly recommend this tour!!!!
We wanted to see a lot in Kanazawa. So we hired a private guide for 3 hours to help us navigate all the logistics. Yukari proved invaluable in doing that. Yukari helped to get us to the more off beat places so we could see the more usual tourist places by ourselves. We got day passes for transportation on the loop bus. She pre booked us an appointment at the Myoryu-ji Ninja Temple at our request, and afterwards, we walked around a small Geisha district, ate delicious chili tofu (not hot chili) and tofu ice cream. We went to the Kimono Cente, and Yukari helped us purchase matcha mochi on our way to the park. We communicated well even if we had to clarify Yukari's English sometimes. Yukari went over and beyond to help us experience Kanazawa. It was very pleasant and memorable. We would definitely use Yukari again.
Criselda is a great communicator and proactive in making suggestions as to what might be of interest to. She is very engaging and knowledgeable. We had a lovely afternoon with her exploring beautiful Kanazawa.
This was such a great experience. Our guide, Megumi, was amazing. She was kind, funny, and knowledgeable. After filling out the questionnaire, we decided to visit the geisha area, Kenrokuen garden and Kanazawa Castle. She walked us through the fish market on the way back, pointed out local delicacies and helped us place our order. She sent us links to other area attractions and called to make reservations for us at the Ninja temple and a gold leaf class for the following days. Would 100% recommend Megumi to anyone considering booking a tour.
Fumie was a great guide, she showed us the city from a different angle - less touristic, more local flavor which wax exactly what we were looking for.
A nice Afternoon strahl with Meguri at the gems of Kanazawa. And a nice foto ops opportunities to get .
Akari was a treat to have as my guide for this tour. She was exceptionally knowledgeable about the history behind the sites she showed me. The extra bit of history about how a particular stone pagoda in the castle garden was related to the Imjin War was exceptionally surprising since that war is effectively unknown in the West.
Our guide Mo spoke excellent English and was very polite and helpful. He knew some great places to visit and it was so relaxing having a local guide us around. We especially loved visiting the Samurai house, Zen gardens, Kenroku-en gardens and Kanazawa pottery shops.
Our guide AKari was the best. She was friendly, knowledgeable, understanding to our pace and most of all we enjoyed being with her. We would recommend her highly. Such a beautiful personality. We felt so lucky to have met her.
Best tour ever! Early evening into night time tour. The city is so beautiful and quiet at night. It was a full Flower Moon and the city could not have been more beautiful. My guide Mouri was kind, respectful and knowledgeable of all the hidden gems of Kanazawa. Evening tour was quiet, with few tourists out. Photo opportunities were every where. Thank you Mouri for taking me along to your special places!!
Very informative, pleasant tour. The guide was very friendly and had a great deal of knowledge that was passed on to us. Thus a top tour, which I very gladly recommend.
Very pleasant tour with Mouri, who guided me through the main attractions of Kanazawa, but also hidden corners and fascinating local stories
