From the stalls of Omicho Market to tucked-away snack counters and lively izakaya streets, you’ll explore the neighborhoods where locals actually eat. Expect to uncover hidden gems, hear the stories behind the dishes, and enjoy spontaneous moments that go beyond what’s listed on any menu.
After booking, you’ll receive a short questionnaire to tell us about your tastes and preferences. Based on your responses, we’ll match you with a like-minded host who will reach out to co-create your ideal food adventure. You’ll have the freedom to adapt the route as you go—because in Kanazawa, the best meals are often found where you least expect them.

- This is a walking tour. Your host will meet you at your selected hotel, and the tour will begin on foot. If you’d prefer to meet at a central location instead, please choose the meeting point option.
If your hotel isn’t on the list, simply select the central landmark option. This is a private walking experience.

Katie was absolutely amazing. She made the itinerary specific to us was very kind and sweet and was able to take us to all the great places and show us different types of food. She also took time out to take us to geisha District so that we can taste ice cream with gold leaf.

She took the time to get to know us beforehand and chose the best restaurant to share local foods. Spending time with Natsuko was a joy - she felt like an old friend! 10/4/2026 my husband and I visited Kanazawa and had a night food tour with our guide Akari. The experience was perfect, she took us to a traditional style Japanese restaurant where the food and and staff was 10/10. Afterwards we finished the night with local beer tasting. My husband and I was so happy with our tour with Akari and requested her for the next day to do a walking tour of Kanazawa. All in all our night food tour was 10/10 and we would recommend it to anyone

What an amazing experience! My wife and I had the pleasure of having Iku guide us around Kanazawa and gave us an incredible introduction to the city. We got to taste some delicious Kanazawa tea and Wagashi before continuing our walking tour of Kanazawa. The highlight of our evening was an incredible dinner at an intimate restaurant. Iku went above and beyond to not only accommodate my wife's and my dietary restrictions, but also making sure we didn't see parts of Kanazawa we were going to see on another tour. The entire time we felt like we had a friend walking through the city with us. Iku was more than a tour guide!

She had prepared everything ahead of time, so there were no problems throughout the evening, and she had managed to include a special “night time illumination” event held in the famous Kenrokuen Garden - it was fabulous! Akari was knowledgeable, personable, and made the whole trip to Kanazawa worthwhile!

We greatly enjoyed our food tour in Kanazawa with Iku. She communicated with us frequently prior to the tour, and went above & beyond with extras like printing our hotels shuttle schedule for the train station. She is a Kanazawa native and was able to share extensive cultural and historical insights about Kanazawa. We had specific requests for areas we wanted to explore and she made sure we got to those areas. The food selections weren’t always to our liking, but that is to be expected. At each stop we had choices about what to try and some were tastier than others. She also took many pictures of us which she shared via What’s App and we really appreciated.

She was in touch after making the booking and worked with me to tailor the experience to what I was looking for, in this case local sushi and the seasonal delicacy Crab. She managed to get a booking at a sort out place with little notice. Would highly recommend.

Met Jorge in the hotel lobby. Kanazawa has great food and we started with sushi at a restaurant in the train station. In fact, we could have spent the evening there since the sashimi was so good but we then moved to dining on grilled meats at a Korean barbecue. Finally ended up at a restaurant that serves tempura skewers. Jorge was very entertaining and gave us a good perspective of an expatriate working in Japan. Nice tour for a survey of Kanazawa cuisine.
