Mitsui Garden Hotel Kanazawa

The hotel has a great location to explore the city. 👍 And the rooms are nice. Unfortunately the hotel and the staff are not utterly interested to make the guest feel welcome. Something that we have not experienced before in Japan in this way. 😕 Other persons were very happy about the short city tours by the staff…, this is something that seems not to exist anymore. There was no information found on that in the hotel! Furthermore the advertise the possibility to wash clothes…, this is actually a joke and not a service you can rely on! They gave 2 machines (!) what is already a problem for such a large hotel…, but additionally one is marked as out of order…, but in fact it is used by the hotel staff for their own purposes… 😕 Then they forbid to wait outside the laundry room - in order to get the next slot for washing… - and make that clear in a very unfriendly and hostile way. Something I have never experienced before in any hotel on this globe! The next point is that the hotel is rather inconvenient when arriving with your own car and you have to unload a lot of luggage, since the hotel has no legal possibility for short term loading related parking. - They claim that there is a possibility on the backside but do not provide helpful information nor support 😕 They do not care at all about their guests and how to make things easier for them, something very exceptional and strange in the hospitality industry…

We had a wonderful stay at Mitsui Garden Hotel Kanazawa. The hotel staff were exceptionally helpful, friendly, and attentive throughout our visit. They also kindly assisted us with several restaurant reservations, which made our trip even more enjoyable. The room was spacious and sparkling clean, and both the bedroom and bathroom were very comfortable. The public bath was also relaxing and well maintained. On our first night, we experienced some noise from the air-conditioning, but the staff responded immediately and arranged a room change for us very quickly and smoothly. We truly appreciated how efficiently and professionally they handled the situation. The pre-check-in option also made the arrival process easy and convenient. The location was excellent as well, very close to Omicho Market, with several lovely coffee shops nearby. Overall, we were very impressed by the service, cleanliness, comfort, and location of the hotel. We would definitely stay here again when visiting Kanazawa.

We had a wonderful stay at Mitsui Garden Hotel Kanazawa. The service was outstanding, especially Ai at the front desk. She was incredibly kind, professional, and genuinely caring. One experience that truly stood out was when our laundry didn’t dry completely in the hotel machine. Ai kindly offered to finish drying it herself so our clothes would be ready the next morning before we sent our luggage. We were so grateful for her thoughtfulness and willingness to go above and beyond. The hotel is clean, modern, and in a great location, making it easy to explore Kanazawa. We highly recommend staying here and would happily come back on our next visit. Thank you, Ai, for making our stay so memorable!

The hotel’s location is awesome and the rooftop bath is such a nice touch — it’s super easy to walk to all the main attractions and shops, and overall we had a really solid stay. That said, there are a few small things that could be better. The front desk staff felt noticeably colder to us at check-in compared to how they treated other international guests, which left a bit of a sour first impression. The hotel is also right by a busy road, so traffic noise is pretty loud at night; it’d be great if they could proactively offer quieter higher-floor rooms to light sleepers when people check in. And on days we opted out of housekeeping, they didn’t restock bottled water or toiletries unless we asked specifically — a quick routine check would go a long way. We hope they can iron out these little details, because we’d definitely love to come back for an even smoother experience next time.
