Really liked it. Nice onsen. Breakfast was good but felt like the staff were always hovering and stopped replenishing at 0930h when breakfast was meant to be finished at 1000h. It's a common tactic in Japanese hotels at breakfast and it's annoying. If you say breakfast finishes at 1000h then it should be replenished up to then.
Due to unexpected and sudden medical situation I was unable to travel to the hotel. And yet, the hotel staff was very understanding and accommodating, for which I’m very grateful. If I ever again have a chance to travel to Kanazawa, I will surely choose this hotel!
We loved our room so much we extended our stay by one night because we didn't want to leave! After a week of cramped Japanese hotel rooms, this place felt like sheer old-school luxury, from the opulent lobby to the spacious, comfortable rooms (but minus 1 star for those pillows - please get softer ones!). All members of the reception staff were lovely and friendly, and spoke good English which was another pleasant surprise! They are a credit to the hotel. The onsen was ok, but one night there was a female cleaner (when there were other guests using it) which I wasn't comfortable with so I left. Location-wise you're right next to the two beautiful parks and walking distance to all the good restaurants plus the biggest chaya district, so it's pretty much perfect. Highly recommended!
I had the traditional Japanese room. I enjoyed it a lot and the service set up my futon while i was out. The Bathroom was modern and the space was large for me. Its close by all the major sites and the breakfast had a large variety.
Plus they do have a shuttle bus from kanazawa station to hotel and back.
I liked the atmosphere which was kept as retro meiji, taisho Era. So delighted every morning to choose a coffee cup and a rice bowl that are all different designs of kutani Yaki, their traditional ware in kanazawa. Onsen was relaxing and enjoyed an ice candy provided after onsen.
