I had the absolute pleasure of having Timothy from Native Adventures as my guide for three days, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. He is incredibly respectful, fun, friendly, and so easy to talk to. Spending three days with him felt less like being guided by a tour guide and more like travelling with a good friend. One thing that truly stood out was his talent for photography. As a solo traveler, he went out of his way to ensure I captured all the beautiful moments and unforgettable scenery during our drive to Uganda. He genuinely cared about making sure I had wonderful memories to take home. His professionalism is equally impressive. Timothy was always punctual, he arrived early every single day! His driving skills are excellent, and I always felt safe, comfortable, and in good hands throughout the journey. If you’re booking with Native Adventures, do yourself a favour and request Timothy. He will make your experience truly special!

Day 1
1
Welcome to the Pearl of Africa! A great reception by our company representative on your arrival at the airport. Thereafter you will hit the road for an 8-9 hours’ amazing drive to the heart of one of the oldest jungles in the continent of Africa. You will enjoy not only the snacks and stories from your driver; but also a lunch stopover at the famed Igongo country hotel, variety of vegetation cover, sights of the residents, dotted homesteads and busy towns. You will arrive and check in to your lodge late in the evening for dinner and overnight.
Day 2
2
Wake up to an energizing cup of Coffee; go to the park headquarters for registration and pre trekking briefing by experienced park rangers. The ranger guides will narrate to you about the life of these gorillas and then assign a maximum of eight people to a gorilla group for tracking. The trekking exercise is done on foot deep in the jungle, as the ranger guide follows where the apes were last seen the previous day and then through the hilly terrain and lush plants. The search exposes one to a variety of plants, birds, and primates. Depending on how far the apes have moved and your pace; tracking the gorillas may last for over 1-7 hours, plus an additional hour of photography, making inquiries and watching poses of the gentle silverback. Thereafter have a Lunch Break; followed by a visit to Batwa pygmies; one of the shortest people in the world and former hunters and gatherers in the Bwindi jungle.
Day 3
3
At sunrise, greet your intestines with a yummy breakfast meal at the lodge and then checkout for a 7-8 hour drive to Entebbe international airport for your flight. There will be a stopover for lunch and photography at the Equator.

Overall, I would highly recommend Native Africa Tours to anyone. Everything was perfect - from the booking experience and communication to the amazing experience we had throughout the tour with Timothy. Booking: From the moment I first made an enquiry, Chris reached out over whatsapp very quickly and worked hard to understand our budget and preferences for the trip. He was amazing at answering any questions we had and tailored the package to our needs and budget. We did some shopping around and found Native Africa Tours overall price to be incredibly fair - you could honestly pay double without getting anything extra with other companies. I also found the enquiry process with Chris to be a lot smoother than with similar travel companies charging more. The trip: Everything is planned for you - the pickup from Entebbe, the small flight towards Bwindi, lodge accommodation and travel to and from the trekking. You don’t need to plan anything. Chris checked in with us during our trip to ensure the pickups and travel were all on time and going to plan, which they always were. When we arrived in Kisoro, our tour guide, Timothy, was there to pick us up. Timothy stayed at the lodge and was with us throughout the three nights, looking after us, and was honestly amazing. He was great fun to be around, answered all our questions and made us feel like he would help us with anything. For example, on the last day I wanted to watch the football, so Timothy called around to find a suitable local bar and then joined us to watch the game. It was great fun and felt like we were there with a friend. The gorilla trekking itself is incredible and something we’ll never forget! You’re in a small group, get incredibly close views of the gorillas while still feeling safe, and even the trek through the forest is really cool. Finally, we stayed at Kaara Lodge, which was brilliant. The rooms are a good size, really clean and modern, with spectacular views over the forest. The staff were so attentive and really looked after us. I would really like to thank Chris and Timothy for helping to give us such an unforgettable experience.
We had an outstanding experience. From communication before our trip, organization, pick up time, drive to Bwindi and of course the experience of the Gorilla Trek itself have been all perfect. Thanks you for this amazing experience.
I really couldn't have been happier with Native Africa Tours. I had some flight trouble on the way to Uganda, and Moses helped me every step of the way. I was picked up by Denis at the airport, and if I ever move to Uganda, I'd think we'd be best friends. I learned a lot about the country and the culture over the 3 days we spent together. Very professional, considerate, and made sure the trip went perfectly smooth. I couldn't recommend this company and crew enough. Thank you gentlemen for the BEST time!!
My experience with Native Tours was exceptional from start to finish with airport pick up all the way through drop off - Moses and Chris were exceptional guides—knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely passionate about what they do. They made the entire journey smooth and unforgettable . Their insight into the forest and the gorillas added so much depth to the experience. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park with Native Tours was nothing short of unforgettable! Highly recommended!
This was an impactful experience. Coming from the US, I flew into Kigali, Rwanda, was picked up and driven to Uganda. As a solo woman traveler, I felt incredibly safe. George was great company. Communication was easy. I chose Uganda over Rwanda because pricing was better. Be sure to get your East Africa Tourist Visa from the Ugandan government website only. I recommend the 4 hour habituation permit. The trekking uphill was difficult as an inexperienced hiker. Staff was incredibly patient and kind. Our guide was educational. There is great work being done here for conservation. Highly recommend. It will stay with you for life.
Best africa tour agency! Moses helped us planning everything, from giving advices for hotels, over plan the routes to booking the gorilla trekking. Chris guided us through the Queen Elizbaeth Nationalpark. We saw a lot of amazing animals, he knows very good places. Afterwards we went all together for a drink, very nice guys. Can only recommend.
My guide Mustafa was amazing! As a solo female traveler I felt safe and taken care of. The accommodations for this journey were GREAT and relaxing. Which was much needed after long drives and treks. I highly recommend this once in a life time experience for anyone and definitely recommend booking with Native Travelers. Make sure to ask for Mustafa as your guide.
I went for 5 day Trip with Native Africa Tours from 08-Sep to 12-Sep starting from Entebbe Airport covering Equator, Lake Mburo National Park, Bwindi Gorilla 🦍 Trek, Lake Bunyoni and Kazinga Channel before dropping us back in Entebbe Airport. Our Guide Brian was very helpful in every stage. Chris owner of the company is prompt in response despite being sick 🤢. They arranged stay in Mpogo Lodge near Mbarara for 2 days, Gorilla 🦍 Havens Lodge in Bwindi and Rock Resort in Lake Bunyoni. Mpogo lodge and Rock Resport are perfect mid range choices. Gorilla 🦍 Havens seems to be between Budget and Mid Range - It seems they renovated a budget lodge, but still room size and features are far below mid range. When I had water issues with Mpogo Lodge on day 1, I informed our guide Brian who arranged for better alternate room on same lodge for day 4 stay. Food 🥘 is very good in all places. Brian stopped on many places so that I can click beautiful photos. We applied for Gorilla 🦍 trekking permit in Rushaga sector, but got the same in Nkuringo sector. Trek was good with medium challenging level. Brian helped to arrange for better Gorilla 🦍 group. In Kazinga Channel I went for public shared boating 🛶 I feel they covered very limited area during those 2 hours. This is one aspect I think improvement is required as they deliberately drive slowly in last few minutes. I highly recommend Native Africa Tours specially inform Chris to allot Brian as Guide for your memorable experience.
I had a truly unforgettable experience with Native African Tours, and I can’t recommend them enough. From the very beginning, it was clear that this is a locally based company that genuinely cares about their clients. Their professionalism, attention to detail, and constant communication made me feel confident and supported throughout the entire process. Despite giving them very short notice, they went above and beyond to arrange a wonderful trekking excursion to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. Getting gorilla permits on such short notice is no small feat, but they made it happen—and the result was a trip I’ll never forget. Moses deserves special recognition—he managed all the logistics seamlessly and kept in close contact with me every step of the way, always making sure everything was in place and adapting to my needs with genuine care. And Chris, my guide, was simply outstanding. Warm, knowledgeable, and full of good energy—he made the trek not just smooth, but truly special. The lodges we stayed throughout the trip exceeded everything I had in mind: incredible views and the nicest and warmest service. If you're planning a visit to Uganda, you can trust Native African Tours to arrange the best trip you can have. They’re passionate, reliable, and deeply committed to sharing the beauty of their country in the most authentic and meaningful way. And you will be supporting local businesses. Thank you, Moses and Chris, for showing me a side of Uganda I’ll always carry with me.
An experience you won't forget - driving to Bwindi, taking in its breathtaking nature at Rushaga Gorilla Haven's Lodge (offering tasty local food and dawa tea), before trekking through Bwindi Impenetrable forest, encountering a family of wild mountain Gorillas 🦍 up-close and in a small group of trekkers (pictures attached). Lake Bunyonyi is equally worth visiting and Native Africa Tours knows where the best spots and lodges are located (Lake Bunyonyi Rock Resort is a gem!) I'd definitely book with them again 👍👌
My trip to see the Gorillas was amazing. Thank you to the Native Africa team and especially Chriss for making this a very memorable experience. I went for the tour alone and felt safe and cared for at all moments, would highly recommend.
This was an amazing experience: first and foremost the mountain gorillas, but also the landscapes and scenery, lake Bunyonyi, and the visit to the Batwa community were excellent. The lodges were good and the food mostly very tasty and good.
It was the most incredible experience of my life. Being so close to the gorillas, seeing how they live, is indescribable. My guides: Mustafa and Ashraf, were amazing, very attentive, we had a lot of fun (very important since the trip to Bwindi from Entebbe takes 11 hours)
WOW! What an amazing experience we have had with Native Africa tours. We knew they would be amazing as we have used them before for other trips. Our guides, Chris and Deus, are full of knowledge, put our priorities first, and communicate clearly about the itinerary. On the way to Bwindi, we had many stops and got to see some wildlife on the way. This made the drive from Kampala to Bwindi not feel long at all. The lodge near Bwindi had a fantastic view, one that you can only dream of, overlooking Bwindi forest and got us all excited for the trekking the next day. During dinner we got all information and tips for the trekking and to prepare us for the early morning the next day. The trekking definitely was the best thing we’ve ever done. Seeing the Gorillas up close is just unreal. When we came back, the guides were waiting for us in order to go to the next activity. I cannot recommend this organisation enough. They’ve always made sure that we get the absolute best experience possible and that’s exactly what we got!
The experience was amazing. Our drivers were extremely knowledgeable and caring. We were able to take incredible photos and enjoy being out in beautiful nature of Uganda.
Very professional and important suggestions when planning our highly customized double gorilla trekking experience. Chris is a very kind and experienced guide, always on time, with helpful tips and made our trip to once in a lifetime experience.
We had a wonderful time exploring the beautiful Uganda with our guide Chris. He picked us up from the airport on time and gave us a nice introduction to Uganda. We were with Chris for 6 days and we can't tell where the time went! We did a community walk one of the mornings which was wonderful to explore a local community in Kibale. We then went Chimpanzee trekking and this was a remarkable experience - the rangers were very experienced and looked after us well. We went to Queen Elizabeth national park and this was stunning - Chris pointed out all the animals to us and took us to where the action was at so we got an opportunity to see a huge variety of animals. Our boat safari in Kazhinga Channel was excellent too, we got very close to lots of elephants. We went Gorilla Trekking and this was a fantastic experience - the rangers and guides here were very experienced and knowledgeable, and we got to see gorillas closely after a great trek through the forest. The lodges we stayed at were superb, had wonderful service and lovely welcoming staff. They also had stunning views. Chris looked after us very well, he was an excellent driver and gave us a lot of information about the country and culture and the wildlife. He carefully planned the trip so we got to see the most amount of things while we were here, and took into considerations our needs too. The tour was organised in the best way to support the local communities, and I felt this gave us an authentic welcoming lovely experience. He even managed to get us some jackfruit to try on our last day! He was extremely resourceful and well connected and knew the roads, the community and people extremely well and it was wonderful to have him as our guide. I would highly recommend Native Africa Tours. Thank you for an incredible adventure 🙏🏽
I and my wife Charlotte conducted a 5 Days Uganda and Rwanda Gorilla Trekking Safari with Native Africa Tours. Chris is absolutely amazing. He fully customized our trip with spacious lodges and an excellent 4WD safari van. Our Guide Victor picked us from Kigali international Airport and took us through the entire Trip. Victor was soo accommodating and Friendly. Native Africa Tours and their team ensured security and safety during our stay on the trip. We highly recommend NATIVE AFRICA TOURS 100%. You will surely have an amazing experience with them
I went on a 3-days trip to visit the gorillas in Bwindi from Kigali. The communication with Chris upfront was very good, he always responded quickly. My driver Victor was an excellent driver. He stopped at interesting places where I could enjoy the view and helped me with the formalities at the border between Rwanda and Uganda. Victor informed me well about the gorilla trekking, what to wear and bring and the options for different lengths of the walk. He arranged everything for me The accommodation near Bwindi was beautiful, the staff was very helpful and the bungalows had an amazing view. I Highly recommend this trip with Native Africa Tours
This was a super trip in Uganda with Great Adventures Uganda! Everything ran smoothly and I totally recommend this trip to everyone who would like to track the Gorillas or visit Uganda. GAU gained my trust (not an easy thing!) to book a trip with them. I was picked up and dropped off at the location that I wanted. My driver was always on time and very reliable. I would have liked him to be a bit more talkative during our trip, so that I would have had the opportunity to learn more about Uganda. He was nevertheless kind and I liked him a lot as a person :)
Loved my experience with Native African tours and can say I would honestly book with them again. We completed the six day gorilla trekking tour that included game drives, chimpanzee trek, boating and heaps of additional fun along the way. Native African tours was very professional and went above and beyond to make our experience in Uganda great. The accomodation was breathtaking, the pictures do not do them justice. Chris was fantastic, he had great communication and quick replies with my 101 questions. Chris and Native African tours were so accommodating even when I asked add additional members to our group after the original booking.I felt there was nothing they wouldn’t do to make our experience. Our guide Racheal was absolutely amazing, so friendly, professional and knowledgeable. I loved the small group size, it was just us group of girls and it definitely felt like a family. I highly recommended!
A few days packed with gorilla trekking, chimpanzee trek, game drives, boating and lots of fun! Native African tours was very professional and went above and beyond to make our experience truly special. Chris was easy to communicate and Responded very quickly to all questions/ queries. Our guide Rachel was amazing! Felt like a girls/friends trip with her. Very professional yet felt very much like a friend. I highly recommend Rachel and native Africa tours if you are planning an Ugandan adventure.
I booked a week tour with Native Africa just 3 weeks before I headed to Uganda. This was a solo trip so I was a little apprehensive but this was the best decision and it really was one of the best holidays of my entire life. Wow Uganda is an absolutely beautiful country. Within a week we saw gorillas, chimpanzees, lions (killing and eating a buffalo), hippos, elephants and more. And this coupled with a friendly tour guide, fun (long) car journeys and excellent food. There are lots of long drives but the scenery is so beautiful and constantly changing and you take in the local way of life so I never felt bored. As a solo female traveller I was instantly put at ease and I can honestly say I didn’t feel in danger or at risk once during my trip. My tour guide was Johnson was excellent, he is kind, calm, fun and informative. Being just one person with one tour guide could have been awkward but he is good at figuring out the level of interaction you want for different types of people. He shared the local music with me for the car journeys and we had a lot of fun during the weeks tour. The booking process was also very smooth and friendly. I reached out to enquire with my dates and some small preferences of what I was looking to do and very quickly the owner Chris came back with a proposed itinerary. He answered any questions I had quickly and put me at ease and we changed some of the plans together through simple discussion. For example of the accommodation looked a bit too budget for me so I suggested we upgrade slightly and this was also quick simple and easy. We also changed the order of the itinerary as the gorillas I had heard to be strenuous and I didn’t want to do that straight away after a long haul flight. He also guided me through the visa process and what I needed to take with me for the trekking. Everything we did was incredible but the gorilla trek was a real highlight. 9 hours trekking through the forest and seeing the gorillas roaming the mountains in action is something I will never forget. Be prepared this gets precarious at times!!!
Wonderful trip: the gorilla trekking was magnificent, good food and amazing views! We really enjoyed it.
I had the best time on the 3 day Gorilla trekking with Native Africa Tours. Chris was so helpful and organised. The accommodation both nights was absolutely stunning and the company showed great professionalism throughout. Chris even allowed me to pay on the day of the tour as I had problems with my bank back in the U.K. Thanks Native Africa Tours!

The 3 Days Gorilla Experience was really an amazing experience. Chris organized it down to the last detail, Charles our Guide was super and Knowledgeable. We visited the Mount Gorillas in Bwindi impenetrable National Park and encountered the Bitakuri Gorilla Family. Accommodation was superb and Served with Delicious Food. We Highly recommend NATIVE AFRICA TOURS and Charles
I had the most remarkable tour with Chris Sanyu and Native Africa tours! Not only was everything perfect, but I felt, in every instance, that Chris truly cared about the whole process and did his best to make this trip memorable. For a well-traveled individual, this definitely has become the most eye-opening, adventurous, and stunning journey of my life - something I will remember, draw upon, and cherish for many years to come. Chris was pre-emptive and always went the extra mile to make sure every aspect of the trip was memorable. He even altered the initial paid for plan and included side trips (bearing in mind he had to get me to the airport on time). You fee truly safe with his company and the food quality, hygiene is very good. The hotels organised were amazing. I would highly recommend contacting Native Africa tours in the first instance as you will not be disappointed! 5 stars and keep up the amazing work Chris! Cant wait to come back with the family and finish touring the rest if your amazing country! Thank you once again!

We did safari trip to Bwindi for three days and we wish it would last longer. It was like a dream come true. We had the company chosen by a home travelling company but we couldn't have chosen better. Our guide Chris was a real friend to us ;) Not only has a great knowledge about the Country but also he offered us local snacks and made a beautiful honeymoons' photos! :) It was like a lifetime experience with indivual approach for us. We can strongly recommend Chris as a best safari guide you can imagine!
My wife and I just returned from an 11 days trip around Uganda and honestly I wish we had stayed much longer. The whole country, people and food are just amazing. What made our trip more enjoyable was our Guide Chris from Native Africa Tours. He is so Knowledgeable, accomodating and with a great personality! Since this was our first Trip in Africa, we had to rely on Chris' expertise. Generally it was an enriching experience which would have not been possible if we didn't our excellence guide Chris. We were also pleased with the reservations Team who assisted us with the planning of the safari. Our goal was to see so many things as possible in the limited amount of time. Chris was able to create for us a package that suited exactly what we wanted. Gorilla trekking was the main highlight of this trip as we had to see them in their natural environment. We are very happy and would definitely recommend Native Africa Tours to everyone who plans to visit Uganda.
Amazing experience. Native Africa Tours were fantastic. Chris and Choice did a great job. I would highly recommend.
If you are looking for a reliable, transparent and a very safe tourist company to trust for your tour, this is it. Native Africa Tours has been good for all our entire trip around Uganda. We did a 12 days Gorilla Safari and here is our feedback: Prior to the Safari: We were attracted by their reviews and their prompt as well as their professionalism in their replies. During the Trip: I dont have enough words to describe how amazing our Guide Chris was. Normally, many people think that only animals make the best experience. This was not the case Chris was just incredible and he has now become a close friend. We left the safari feeling like a family. He made sure that we see every animal we wanted to see more so up close and personal. Chris made sure we were full and comfortable with everything. The Lodges: Native Africa tours made a good job in selecting amazing lodges and at a fair price. They were so relaxing and so exclusive. All the lodges had wifi and with Great food We cant wait to come back and visit Uganda again with Native Africa Tours. 100% recommended
All I could say this was an amazing experience cleared off my bucket list by Native Africa Tours and Chris my number one Guide. I was collected from entebbe off to bwindi for an almost 8 hours journey. Chris is just amazing as he kept me safe with his unending beautiful stories about Uganda. He even managed to get me an easier gorilla trek that lasted just 3 hours with no much hassle. I can 10/10 recommend this experience with Native Africa Tours and Chris as your guide. You are in the right hands!
Moses and Chris (the business owner) we’re incredible in their knowledge, their quality of service and their solution focussed approach. They always went the extra mile. Even when their were unforeseen hiccups along the way, Chris made sure he took the time to fix the situation and show up at the location to assure me of the solutions in place. They are such a wonderful tour company and i couldn’t recommend them highly enough. The Gorilla trekking experience was out of this world, they sorted every detail. The knowledge and the care from the guides and rangers was just amazing. This was a life affirming experience and thanks to Native tours (Chris & Moses) this was brought to life.
I just came back from an excellent safari organized by Native Africa Tours. They are very responsible, trusted and service oriented. Lodges they have selected for my 4 night safari were very good. Their guide Stanly is an excellent guide and a friend who always had a smile on his face! I recommend Native Africa. Chris is the man running the show.
I wanted to book my gorilla trekking permit early enough and most of the agencies offered me alternative dates. The Native Africa Tours Team guaranteed me that I would track Gorillas on the Date I wanted. And yes she got me the permit on the Exact date I wanted. Communication was swift and she responded to all my thousands of emails. The Safari itself was way beyond what I expected. Chris the Driver and Guide was so Knowledgeable, accommodating, patient and so friendly with everyone along the road, in park and lodges. As a female solo traveller this is what I always wished for on this trip. The lodges were amazing, great food, sparkling clean and with a beautiful setting. The Gorilla Trekking was was great as we saw them with 2 big silverbacks after a 1 hour hike. I would definitely recommend this Travel agency.
I could not recommend this company enough. Chris went above and beyond in helping us prepare, always replying straight away and accommodating our many changes (and was so helpful in figuring out all the covid restrictions for all the countries we wanted to go to). Chris still, our guide, was lovely from the moment he picked us up. He was knowledgeable about everything we asked him, and made sure we left not only having seen the gorillas, but also understanding the culture and country more. Trip of a life time, and you are in good hands with this group! We usually don't use tour companies as we prefer to book everything ourselves, but for a trip like this you have to rely on experts - which these guys were!
I traveled to Uganda for my Gorilla trek with Native Africa Tours at the start of the February Month. My Driver Safari Guide Chris was a great driver and gave us a lot of information on our 8 hour long drive to Bwindi. We learnt, enjoyed a lot and the Gorilla encounter is a one in a lifetime experience that you don’t need to miss out. I strongly recommend Native Africa Tours for your Gorilla Safari in Uganda. Make sure you bring all the requirements for Gorilla Trekking.
I found out Native Africa Tours online as I searched for a gorilla trip to Uganda and this was the beginning of a new Ugandan Love story. Maureen was so responsive to all my unending Questions plus all the changes I made for this trip. She truly listened to all my special interests. Chris My Safari Guide was a Marvel, so knowledgeable and Passionate of his Country Uganda. I love Birds and on this Trip, I nearly spotted hundreds of birds with the help of Chris. He managed to spot 4 Leopards (4 physical leopards) Each lodge we stayed in was unique and wonderful with amazing staff and food. At the end of our Safari (Maureen) was out in Entebbe to meet us before my testing and flight just to know about the Trip and any related concerns . Hello out there, if you are reading this and planning a trip to Uganda, I highly recommend you to try out Native Africa Tours, Chris as your Guide and Thank me later.
