It was lovely to explore the far side of lake Victoria. We caught the boat from divine resort with a local boatman. The cycling was undulating as you’d expect, mainly off road. The guide was helpful and knowledgeable.

If you ever wish to escape the busy city life for a day and experience something really exciting, then this package is just the thing for you. It lets you explore the Lake Victoria Peninsular, learn about the lives of the people living there, enjoy the lush green views, and feel the refreshing breezes from the lake, all while riding your bike in comfort. Our adventure begins at 8:00 am from the Beach House Gardens in Ggaba (close to Kampala University). We’ll cross the lake on a local boat to reach the Buule landing site. The truly exciting part starts here, where, for the next 3-4 hours, we’ll cover about 20-25 kilometers, following narrow dirt roads, and discovering the stunning beauty of the Lake Victoria Peninsular. There will be plenty of chances along the way to rest, have a snack, or take a selfie – all while enjoying the amazing views of the lake.

Beautiful nature, nice people and great guides🔥
The tour was so nice! We asked for a tailored experience because my friend wanted to learn to ride a bike and they organized it for us. The price was fair and we got everything that they promised. The length of the activity was good and they also kept time. Our guide, Ronald, was so nice and patient. He accommodated to our needs. The route was safe, not crowded and beautiful. Really recommend it!
Rented a bike from these guys and it didn't disappoint at all as I did a solo mountain bike ride which was amazing. The bike was good with hydraulic brakes as well as a 1x11 speed gear which helped me go over many hills. Cheers
Amazing experience I had cycling through the quiet villages with views of the magnificent lake Victoria. This 3 hour bike ride is for the taking and I recommend everyone with knowledge of bikes to book.
I really enjoyed my bike ride! It was great that Mandela could tailor the route to go easy on me as I didnt mind a long distance but I didnt want too many hills after a long work week...his knowledge to give me the best possible experience according to my preferences I really appreciated. Also, I must admit that before it ever started, I actually slept in that morning and was over an hour late which I felt absolutely terrible about. However they were very calm and understanding. Mandela waited so patiently for me to arrive and he was very pleasant and friendly throughout the day. Thank you Mandela, again sorry!! I would highly recommend this tour and would happily book from them again when I come back.
It was my first time doing this kind of activity. It was a good experience. Sometimes they would give us advice or take photos for us. The photos were also shared with us immediately after the trip.
Absolutely lovely experience. The guide was great and friendly and cycled at our pace. Money well spent! Mari and Eugenie.
The 3-hr bike tour was a highlight of our trip to Uganda. Our guide Michael was excellent, and the terrain, views, and communities we saw were captivating. The boat commute across the lake was a perfect way to start and finish the ride. Loved stopping for a Rolex to interact with the locals. The bikes were functional with minor maintenance items (mine had a cracked/wobby pedal and the handlebar grips were loose). Highly recommended as a way to get some physical activity while engaging with the people and environment.
The bike ride was amazing! Nice to leave the busy Kampala and get some exercise in the nature. The distance of the ride was just perfect. The boat ride was nice and chill. Really recommend this trip!
On my last day after a very long hectic schedule of work in Kampala, I decided to book this tour to try and go out doors. Starting with the boat cruise on lake Victoria to our starting point, we rode through single tracks with amazing views and scenic landscapes. Beautiful area with lots of happy and endless smiles. Totally recommend....
Just as we expected our family tour to be like, we had great time with Zaga as he led us well through some of the best cycling trails. We enjoyed every single bit and we can't wait to book a longer one after our children are learned more of mtb handling.
Rented a bike from these guys and went on a solo bike ride on one of the islands. The bike was in very good condition and actually served me well. I can recommend to anyone who would like to rent bikes from these guys.
I joined a fundraising bike ride organized by Cycle tours Uganda across lake Victoria to raise some funds for a baby diagnosed with a liver problem and needed a transplant. The ride was such a beauty and energized by all members that joined. Looking forward to a longer tour since they also organize them. Totally recommend this to all categories of bike lovers.
Excellent Guiding and Very Good Customer care. The trails and roads are all very nice.. We went to Banga Bay resort on the fringes of Lake Victoria which is in Mukono District. A very refreshing place!
Nice experience and above all the initiative to support Baby Ifrah’s liver transplant, may everyone that attended and contributed towards this cause be blessed
Very lovely cycling adventure across Lake Victoria to the countryside. Loveable roads, communities and above all, great, knowledgeable guide that kept telling me about the place and Uganda as a country. I recommend this to one who is Kampala for atheist a day.
Amazing bike ride! I went alone, hoping to make new friends and it was great. The boat ride to the peninsula is a good way to start the day and the ride had a good variety of difficult and easy bits. We had some rain in the morning but that was actually refreshing. Don’t forget to bring sunglasses for the flies!
Great trip! Fun trails and v.good guiding, knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. Nice rest stop and clear directions. Will be back!
Awesome Bike Trip through beautiful scenery with knowledgeable, friendly guide. Michael was great in sharing his knowledge about local plants and the culture and adapted flexibly to my pace. We went about 25 km and I found it easy. Loved it!
A great way to escape the rush of downtown Kampala by mountain biking on the dirt roads and single tracks in the countryside across the Murchison bay. Zaga and Mandela are great guides that adapt the duration and difficulty to everyone's experience level; just let them know in advance and they will schedule in your perfect route. The mountain bikes are well maintained and adjusted in advance to your body height. Highly recommended in the Kampala region 👍
Absolutely amazing experience cycling across Lake Victoria. Our guides Zagga and Mandela were extremely knowledgeable and caring. They were able to answer all my questions and create a fun ride despite me being a new cyclist. The lovely boat trip across to our start point was another highlight- I would thoroughly recommend this experience to anyone visiting or living in Kampala.
Great experience, not to be missed when in Kampala. The island, actually a pninsula that is surrounded by lake Victoria, is such a great place to see and be part of the Ugandan rural scenery and life. The ride is designed to take you through main dirt roads, narrow paths and even single track paths deep into the vegetation. Professional guide, great communication, deep knowledge of the route, secure and safe cycling. AFIVE STAR experience overall, thank you Zaga, thank you Cycle Tours Uganda
An amazing experience, crossing the Lake Victoria on a boat and a 3-hr bike ride through a rural area bordering the lake. Ronald was a great guide, he is very accommodating and fun!
I came to Kampala for a work trip and had only one day free to explore around. I am glad I went for this bike tour! The boat ride is beautiful, so is the the trekking path. Great way to get moving and get immersed into rural life… just outside Kampala!
Fantastic tour! Gives you an insight into people's life outside of Kampala. Easy to get to and a great activity to get moving. The bikes were good, especially for bumpy roads. Riding up and down a few hills and racing boda-bodas was a lot of fun. We also enjoyed the views from the boat and a nice breeze on the lake. Overall, great experience! Highly recommended.
This was a great experience for me and my friends. We had James as our guide and he did a great job of showing us stuff and taking the time to ride at our pace. Was a great time and now am wanting to do the 7 hour ride.
Cycle Tours offers the top tier cycling trails and routes, suitable for all levels, from beginner trails to advanced technical trails. I have been on two rides with them, and i hope to have more. Whoever has love for cycling, mtb challenges, should really try their services. Totally worth it
Excellent. Good understanding of all the trails. There is something for everyone one at all skill levels. It was worth while experience and everyone should try it to experience true mountain biking in uganda. Good hills and rides through the bushes
The ride was so amazing single trails. the environment was also amazing the the full view for the lake and the air from Forest.🥰🥰😍😍
Amazing tour and reliable guys. The chain broke during the journey, but they intervened promptly. The places are wonderful, sometimes the journey can be tiring even for an athlete but is totally worth the effort.
Had a great time with Uganda cycle tours. The guides were very nice, I’m not an expert biker but the guides made sure I was comfortable on the ride by going at a good pace. The group was split so that faster bikers could go with a guide she there was a guide for leisure riders. The Rolex snack was delicious. I would highly recommend.
I joined a social ride on Sunday morning with cycle tours Uganda. Really great trip and the guides were fantastic. The boat over was also enjoyable. Though I’ve cycled a lot, I’m pretty new to mountain biking over dirt tracks, but absolutely loved it! They had two groups one for slightly faster riders and the other for those wanting to go a little more leisurely. Really interesting ride, good views and with both challenging and leisurely parts. If you like cycling and being active, I would highly recommend Uganda Cycle Tours. Affordable and friendly group to ride with. I rented a bike and helmet too and it was good.
Great and unique way to explore the country through cycling. The back roads are so amazing but one has to be a cyclist.
Last ride of the year organized by Cycle Tours Uganda and guess what? It all went as planned and expected. I enjoyed this and I do recommend to anyone that loves biking and wanna go out for a few hours.
I enjoyed my self to the max, the guides are friendly and the routes are epic. Thanks Cycle Tours Uganda.
Cycling in and appreciating the beauty of our country Uganda courtesy of cycle tours uganda Where I got a chance of discovery the greenery and fresh atmosphere out of Kampala is a great experience all together
Cycling in the beautiful green hills just across the murchison bay is a great experience. The route is easy mostly single track with some steep trails in it.
Great bike trip ! Despite very muddy conditions, our guide, James , took us on a fantastic ride. He let us be in the lead, so we could go at our own pace and stop For pictures. The terrain was challenging, rocky and slippery, but the bikes could handle it. Lots is great scenery and local color along the way. Highly recommend!
We really have a great cycling trip. Our guide very well adjusts selection of the paths to our cycling condition. It was surprisingly for us that with only a feu minutes floating with a boat from lively Kampala we come to calm rural environments. It was nice to see a way how people live there, nice views to the lake and forest... We also see some monkeys 😊.
Highly recommend! Unique activity to get outside, get some exercise, and not travel too far from Kampala (30 min drive outside the city). The bike ride itself was intense! (speaking as a first time mountain biker) I would not say this is suited for children, and definitely must be relatively fit as there are a great deal of hills on the ride. However it is a super fun workout and such a high! The views are beautiful, the team was great, and they made the most of the rain we experienced along the way. You absolutely will get muddy — so plan accordingly!
Booking o the last minute and these guys had no problem organizing for us everything. The first boat ride to Bule landing site then biking around the lake is amazing. Our trip was spiced with a local snack called the Rolex. Great snack and above all, great qualities possessed by the guide who managed to keep everyone together. kudos!!
After going on a 7 hour bike ride to Sezibwa falls in August, I decided this time around to do a simple 3 hour bike ride across the lake filled with very many amazing and beautiful loops. Not far away from Bule landing site where we start from but with the loops, you will actually think you have gone very far. For people who do not want to stay on the saddle long, this is just what you might need.
I had a great trip, the route is amazing and had great views. The guide was very nice and made sure we had breaks were needed. Overall a great experience.
It was a Fun, exciting, adventurous 35km bike ride around lake Victoria peninsula, A Good workout, I will definitely do it again and again and again…….
13 th August was a nature and fun filled ride where cycle tours Uganda took us on a 30 kilometre ride across the lake single trails interacting with the community which was so welcoming and sharing historical stories of how villages were named and why they were named. Generally a guided tour with a passionate crew is worth a try and time #cycle tours Uganda Embracing the pearl of Africa Uganda through a bicycle as a means of tourism .....
Very fun bike ride, great guide! lovely scenery too. The bikes we used were also excellent quality. Highly recommend.
Beautiful day! Very good guiding from Zaga and awesome country side. A few minutes from Kampala but totally different environments. I recommend to anyone wanting to go out and have a great day.
A nice ride on the peninsula across from Kampala -- enough hills to keep things interesting, but not extremely steep. Some sections of the roads and trails are quite rough and technical (juat like everywhere in Africa), so you need to be comfortable with that. My guide Zaga was fun and very knowledgeable about plants and animals.
Great outdoors activity close to Kampala! Ronald is a great guide. Really enjoyed it. Fun for people looking to relax and exercise a bit
