An amazing 3-day gorilla trekking experience with Dav Safaris! Everything was well organised, and the tour guide, Job was professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and very patient. He even made quick stops along the way so I could take photos of the crested crane and shoebill we came across, which was a lovely bonus for a wildlife lover! Seeing the mountain gorillas in their natural habitat was truly unforgettable. I highly recommend Job to anyone planning this experience in Uganda!

An unforgettable Rwanda & Uganda adventure with Dav Safaris! Our guide Charles was always there for us, drove us everywhere and helped enormously with border crossings. We’ve visited 40+ countries, but the procedures here were unfamiliar and often unclear. Without him, it would have been a real struggle. From golden monkeys to mountain gorillas, we made incredible memories. Thank you, Charles, for your patience, humour and support. Highly recommended!
This was my first trip to East Africa, and Dav made it very easy, at a reasonable price. My guide Isaac was prompt and courteous at every step, did a great job driving safely some crazy roads, finding good places to stop for photos, and helping me find great local restaurants for authentic African food—places that you wouldn’t be able to pick out on Yelp or Google. He also seemed to know everyone in Rwanda and Uganda, which made it easy to deal with customs when we had to cross the border or find an ATM. Communication was prompt and clear while booming my tour, and they were able to tailor a package to my interests.
This was an amazing experience would definitely recommend. Our guide was super friendly and always had historical information to share about wherever we were which was good to get to know the country more! (Shoutout to Solomon truly went above and beyond to make sure we had the best time and had everything we needed). The gorillas was just incredible and amazing to see truly a once in a lifetime thing. Both accommodations for the nights was also lovely staff was amazing and rooms were great.
We did a 10 days Safari in Uganda with Julius guide and was the best experience. He cared about everything everyday and gave us a lot of tips. He was friendly and easy going, punctual and responsible. If we come again to Uganda we will hire him again for sure!
We had a great experience with them, very friendly and professional. All the organization was really good.We enjoyed a lot.It met our expectations
We had an amazing 14-day safari in Uganda with Job as our guide. Job was incredibly friendly, kind and helpful throughout the entire trip. He was very knowledgeable about Uganda and the wildlife, and always went the extra mile to make sure we had a great experience. We really enjoyed our time with Job and would highly recommend him to anyone planning a safari in Uganda. Thanks for an unforgettable trip, Job!
I had an amazing time in Volcanoes National park. Dav Safaris helped me make a custom trip in Rwanda. Charles was my personal guide through out the 3 days. He helped me find and get to the Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund and an amazing art Gallery by the local youth. The drive to and from the park fro Kigali went smooth. The Gorilla trek itself was amazing. We had people from all ages and it was a fairly easy hike as the gorillas ended up coming to is. I personally had an encounter with a smaller gorilla and the guides helped walk through the situation. All in all an experience of a life time. I highly recommend it.
I had an amazing experience with Dav Safaris on my gorilla trekking trip in Uganda. Everything was very well organized, and the whole journey felt smooth and stress-free. A special thank you to my guide, Collins, who was incredibly attentive, friendly, and helpful throughout the trip. He always made sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed, and he genuinely made the whole experience even more enjoyable. I really appreciated his kindness, professionalism, and positive attitude. The accommodations were also really nice — comfortable, welcoming, and with great food, which was especially appreciated after a long day of traveling and trekking. And of course, the gorilla trek itself was absolutely unforgettable. Seeing the gorillas so close in their natural habitat was truly magical and easily one of the highlights of my travels in Africa. Thank you to Dav Safaris and especially Collins for such a wonderful experience. I would happily recommend them to anyone planning a gorilla trekking adventure in Uganda!
WOW, my 5-day tour with Dav Safari to some of Uganda’s greatest treasures was a trip of a lifetime! As an experienced traveler I can honestly say this was one of the best tours I’ve ever been on. My tour guide Adison was the ultimate partner and friend on this unforgettable adventure through the Pearl of Africa. From pickup to drop-off Adison went above and beyond for me every single day to ensure I was happy, comfortable, and having the time of my life. And I was! A HUGE thank you to Dav Safari and Adison for giving me such an incredible experience that I feel inspired to tell everyone to visit Uganda with them.
We had a great experience with Dav Safaris with our guide Eric and Isaac. They took great care of us throughout our journey. The airlines moved our flights around and required the Dav Safari team to help swap around our accommodations and they were able to do it and they were extremely quick to assist. Their guides are also very knowledgeable about the history and the animals we’ve seen. Thank you all for making such a great experience!
14 - Days Uganda Gorillas, Chimpanzee, Wildlife Safari in Kenya and Tanzania As a solo traveler, I had an incredible two-week safari with DAV Safaris through Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania. The chimpanzee and gorilla trekking in Uganda were unforgettable and the perfect start to the trip. From my first inquiry, Ibrahim was responsive, organized, and helpful. The itinerary and accommodations were seamless. Adison, my guide in Uganda, was exceptional. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and really made the Ugandan part of the journey the highlight of my trip. I was especially impressed when a personal item I accidentally left behind at a hotel was tracked down, passed through several hands, and returned to me two days later with no stress at all. That level of care really stood out, he was brilliant . In Tanzania, Ben was equally fantastic, friendly and informative. In Kenya, one guide seemed distracted and less engaging. But overall, I saw every animal listed on the itinerary and even witnessed the great migration crossing the Mara River. I highly recommend DAV Safaris to solo travelers for a personal touch, even checking to see I’d arrived home safely. Also great for couples and families. For a well-organized, unforgettable adventure in East Africa, it’s an excellent choice.
I went with Dav Safaris and it was beyond what I would‘ve imagined. My Guide, Isaac, was super nice and always looks out for me. The Lodges were stunning and jusg the overall experience was 100% worth it.
We had a 10 day safari with Dav Safaris, including gorilla trekking and chimpanzee trekking. Our guide for the entire trip was Joyous and we had such a good time! Joyous went above and beyond to ensure our experience would be unforgettable with the maximum amount of wildlife. Also all of the local guides who were with us during the daily activities were lovely. There never were any big crowds, it felt like few tourists were there, which really made it feel like an African experience with European comfort and amenities. Highly recommend.
We had such a wonderful experience with Dav Safari for total 4 days, and the whole trip exceeded our expectations! Of course seeing silverback gorilla was an unforgettable experience, and we also got to experience so much of Uganda’s beautiful nature, culture, and local life along the way. Uganda is truly an amazing and beautiful country, specially the lake Bunyonyi and Itambira island. Our guide, Job, was fantastic!! He was warm, responsible, and very attentive throughout the trip. He shared lots of interesting information with us along the way, planned everything carefully, and made the whole journey feel smooth and well organized. He is also an excellent driver! We always felt very safe on the road. My husband and I really enjoyed every part of this trip and came home with so many great memories. We’re very grateful to Job and Dav Safari for making our time in Uganda so special. Highly recommended! Definitely will come back;))
My wife and I recently completed a 10-day Ugandan safari with Dav Safaris. The itinerary was packed with incredible daily activities. While the clear highlights were the gorilla and chimpanzee trekking, the surrounding experiences made the trip truly special. We enjoyed amazing wildlife sightings on both land and boat safaris in Murchison Falls and Queen Elizabeth National Parks, marveled at Murchison Falls itself, and loved the cultural visits. Dav Safaris designs its programmes to maximize every day while still leaving plenty of time to relax and unwind. Our guide and driver, Josh, made it all possible. His professionalism and punctuality ensured we made every activity without ever feeling rushed. He drove safely on challenging roads, keeping the atmosphere relaxed. Josh also went above and beyond for my wife, who is vegetarian, ensuring she was well-catered for and even switching restaurants when necessary. The accommodation and food were excellent throughout. I highly recommend this trip to anyone with a sense of adventure.
This has been the best experience of my whole life and Dav Safaris made it possible... we received a last minute cancellation from another company (Gorilla Tribes) and they solved everything in less than 10 minutes! And our Guide Eddie.... wow! What a kind person always available for anything that we needed. I YOU are looking for a company for your gorilla trekking... your search has over. This is an amazing company.
I had the most amazing experience in East Africa imaginable. My itinerary was individually designed with the highest quality of inside information and was crafted for my individual interests. It would take too much time outline the entire itinerary, but in 12 days I had a phenomenal time in Ethiopia. I saw over 50 lions in the Serengeti along with the big five and four hours and the most beautiful leopard while leaving the park as the sun was coming up, standing majestically, almost waiting to say goodbye and then onto to Zanzibar. And of course, one of the highlights was the gorilla trek in Uganda? I cannot recommend this company highly enough. They were absolutely consummate professionals and overall every single detail. They are a major player in the value space and I hope you get to experience this once in a lifetime East African adventure with them.
We highly recommend this company. Our trip was truly one of the best experiences of our lives, and everything was perfectly organised from beginning to end. Seeing the mountain gorillas, especially the magnificent silverback, was an unforgettable experience. We also had the chance to see chimpanzees in their natural habitat. At one point they were high up in the trees, but our guide, Godwin, patiently waited until they came down so we could enjoy an even better view. That moment made the experience even more special. A special thank you to our guide, Godwin, who was absolutely fantastic. He was kind, professional, knowledgeable, and always attentive to our needs. Since we had travelled such a long way, he made sure we were comfortable at all times and was always checking that everything was going well. His knowledge of the wildlife and the local area was excellent, and he was always happy to answer our questions. His patience, dedication, and genuine care made this trip unforgettable. The hotels were excellent, with wonderful service and delicious, high-quality food. Everything the company promised was delivered, and in many ways the experience exceeded our expectations. We would definitely travel with this company again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for an unforgettable gorilla and chimpanzee trekking experience in Uganda.
I had the most incredible 3-day experience with Dav Safaris, and I can't recommend them highly enough. From the moment I was picked up, everything was seamless and perfectly organised. As a solo female traveller, I felt completely safe and well looked after throughout the entire trip, which made the experience even more enjoyable. A huge part of what made this trip so special was my guide, Godwin. He was warm, positive, knowledgeable, and an absolute pleasure to spend time with. We had long conversations during the drives, and he shared so much about Uganda—from its landscapes, birdlife, and local food to its history and culture. I learned so much along the way. Godwin was also incredibly attentive and responsive to my needs throughout the trip. As I had been travelling non-stop before arriving, I was starting to feel quite tired and hoped for a shorter gorilla trek if possible. He made sure my request was clearly communicated during the briefing, and I was placed in a group with a shorter, easier trek. I really appreciated the extra effort he made to ensure I had the best possible experience. The itinerary itself was fantastic. Trekking to see both the chimpanzees and the gorillas was, of course, the highlight of the trip, and it truly exceeded all my expectations. It was one of the most unforgettable experiences of my life. Uganda is an absolutely beautiful country, and this safari made me fall in love with it even more. Thank you to Dav Safaris, and especially to Godwin, for making this such a memorable adventure. I wouldn't hesitate to book with them again!
I can absolutely admit that we passed 7 fantastic days in a wonderful country with a specialised guide and driver called Richard. This man became a friend for us and helped us for everything we need or ask. Gorillas tracking-trekking was incredible and unbelievebly affordable also for my 68y father. We met many gorillas: silverback, mama and baby, teenagers. We saw other animals in QENP and in Murchison falls. Amazing the boat trip! Thank you Dav Safaris
By DAV safari payments are save, everything agreed on in your (customized Yes or no) program is carried out. Save drivers, reliable vehicle, good lodges with a variety of food, often a la carte. Choose what you want, it's included in the all-in price. They take care all necessary permits are secured on time.
Absolutely fantastic 3 days on a wonderfully organized trip. Everything ran smoothly and on time. The vehicle was great, clean and comfortable with good air con and plenty of drinking water provided. All the accommodation was lovely, very clean and well managed with excellent food and service. We were so lucky to have Isaac for our guide on this trip and can't thank him enough for everything he did to make sure we had a wonderful experience. Nothing was too much trouble for him from getting us through customs, stopping for photos, explaining what we were seeing along the way, answering our many questions with obvious knowledge and passion for his country and even fitting our gaitors! The gorilla experience itself was magic ... the hour goes past very quickly once you locate your family! We really enjoyed Uganda but absolutely loved Rwanda and would like to return to see more. We'll be using Dav Safaris again and asking for Isaac to be our guide!
Yellow monkey tour in Rwanda, gorilla trek in Uganda. Beautiful stays in between.
We had a wonderful time visiting Kibale, Bwindi and Lake Bunyonyi. It was primate galore! Our driver Addison was always punctual and his jovial nature helps to take the edge off the long hours on the road. We had a great time chatting and I would totally recommend anyone planning on a similar tour! The accommodation arranged turned out to be much better than I had expected especially at Bwindi ! It was later when I found that the Dav Safaris operate across 10 African nations. So if you want a single operator to organise things for you across the nations, it is possible. If there is one thing to improve, it would be the communication from the operator e.g information about the pick up time can be proactively sent earlier. I was only told of the pick up time after I sent the enquiry on the evening I arrived and that is for the tour the next day. I was a little concerned whether I will get a response in time so that I can inform the hotel of the breakfast timing. Thankfully the response came in despite being in the evening. It wasn’t a big issue for us. But I can imagine others being more paranoid!
Massive shoutout to Ibrahim who's communication style kept us completely at ease, regular updates/check ins and made the process so easy and simple. Also to note our guide/driver Benjamin had a beautiful presence, a friendly smile and a wealth of knowledge about Uganda. He made the trip unforgettable! We will be sharing Dav's Safari with all our friends and family and wish they have the same experience we had.
Excellent tour, my guide Solomon was the best, he was very friendly and knowledgeable, he made sure I had a great time and helped me with all my needs.
We had a wonderful experience with Dav Safaris and especially our guide Job Francis. All accomodations/tours were arranged very well and we got what we paid for. Job was always in for a smile and we could feel that he was as passionate about the wildlife as we were, which makes the experience great! He liked going on his little side quests like seeing coffee/tea plantations.
From the beginning, Ibrahim from Dav Safaris was incredibly communicative and helpful answering my questions about my tour and making sure I chose the right itinerary for me for gorilla tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Booking the tour was seamless and Ibrahim put me in touch with my guide Isaac, a couple days before my tour was scheduled to start. Isaac was the best guide and I would highly recommend him to anyone! He was professional, communicative, friendly, and fun and I felt very well taken care of especially as a solo female traveler. My trip went flawlessly huge thanks to him and I will definitely ask for Isaac as my guide again if/when I come back! Thank you again for everything Isaac!
As first-time visitors to Africa, we honestly didn’t know what to expect. From the moment we were picked up by our guide Addison, we felt comfortable, safe, and genuinely cared for. Every detail was taken care of so seamlessly that we were able to fully relax and enjoy every second of the experience without worrying about a thing. He was incredibly knowledgeable about Uganda itself, and shared so much about his culture, community, and country in a way that made the experience feel deeply personal. Any question we could think of he had an answer for, and shared local knowledge throughout the trip. It’s crazy that in just a short 3 days it felt like at the end we were saying goodbye to a new friend who we genuinely miss. The gorilla trek itself was beyond anything we could have imagined - absolutely unforgettable. The accommodations were better than we could have imagined, and the food was excellent at every meal. We truly cannot say enough positive things about this experience and would recommend this tour, and especially Addison at Dav Safari to absolutely everyone. We already cannot wait to come back someday!
What an experience. We stayed overnight at the Bweza Lodge adjacent to the Brindi National Park. The lodge, its staff and location are great. The following day our guide Benjamin took us to the national park where we did a gorilla trek. WHAT AN EXPERIENCE. We hred a porter, George, who carried our pack and luckily for me was my saviour in helping me weave my way through the muddy trail of the jungle. When we arrived at the location where the gorillas were, we were then guided further in to the jungle by other guides to where the gorillas were. We spent an hour with the gorillas and were then guided back through the jungle. We can't thank our driver/guide Benjamin enough for his great service, expert knowlwdge and a sheer pleasure to be with. Benjamin also took us to a village to meet the Batwa people. That day was a never to forget experience. Meeting those humble, friendly people as well a paying a visit to the school and meeting the great kids, was sheer enjoyment. Again our thanks to Dav Safaris and Benjamin for an unforgetable time.
Joyous was our guide / driver and he made our experience unforgettable. He was fun, engaging in all conversations, and we learned a lot about Uganda from our time together. Little things that we loved was picking up finger bananas on our trip, they were delicious, on game drives Joyous would communicate with the other drivers to find where the most unique animal locations were, and finally we became great friends with Joyous which amplified our experience and our time traveling Uganda.
Our aim was to see the Golden Monkeys and Gorrilas and stay over at Lake Bonyonyi. Every thing went as planned. Nothing was a problem for our guide Isaac. Our arrival changed last minute due to flight changes to avoid the middle east conflict but theyhad no hassels with adjusting - Isaac also helped us change an ongoing flight during our trip (he went above and beyond). The Golden Monkeys were fun and a fairly easy walk (some light rain at end and a bit muddy) got some amazing pictures and the Gorillas were simply amazing. Isaac and Davs Safari organised everything, we saw an entire family (all 15?) with a silver back gorilla (he seemed happy just sitting and wanting our attention - actually moved the family along a little so we started and finished with him in different poses - I would swear he wanted us to take good photos of him and made eye contact with us) and the rest of the family including mothers and their babies all interacting together. They moved up & down trees, changed places and ate a bit as well. Can not thank Isaac enough - he was punctual, knowledgable and simply amazing at his job. This tour was all about the animals when we booked it and it became that perfect trip of a lifetime we will remember forever. Oh nearly forget we canoed around an entire island.
Issac is a very responsible person. He always treats us as the priority. Always make sure we are ok. Sometimes the road is tough and he would drive very carefully. He explains us about the history and the facts of many view points. Also always on time on early morning so our schedules were on time. He manages well about all the activities we have joined. He is willing to wake up early in the morning in order to catch up all the activities as planned. We really appreciate how Issac treated us
11 day safari visiting 5 National Parks with Adison, the best driver/guide in Uganda! He drove us safely through a land slide. We had great accommodations and a wonderful variety of tasty food. We saw a large variety of animals, plants, and birds. Adison was quite knowledgeable in all areas. One hour spent with Gorillas was a highlight. Our time on the chimpanzee walk was superb with guide Bosco. He was a very knowledgeable and entertaining guide. The whole trip was educational and the Ugandan people were so friendly and welcoming. We would highly recommend visiting Uganda, using Dav Safari Tours and asking for Adison as your driver/guide.
My experience was excellent. Right from the airport Addison was attentive , knowledgeable and friendly. I felt the cost was fine considering the superior guiding, trekking and auxiliary staff that supported my safari. I’m afraid the length of the visit was not long enough but this was my first visit. I’m pleased with the quality and quantity of wildlife, driving experiences and our accommodations. There were only 6 on our safari; all friends so this was a perfect number. The atmosphere was relaxed but full of great times. My trip was best for those who have the ability to walk at least 2 hours, enjoy the outdoors and relate to other cultures and people. The driving was an adventure due to busy roads, lots of people walking and chaotic traffic. Adison is a good, safe driver so we all agreed he made us feel safe. He had some wet slippery roads to manage and did this well.
We did a 10 day safari trip! It was a trip of a lifetime! So many exciting days watching the wildlife! We even went to see the Mountain gorillas! Adison was our guide and he was great!!
The tour was exactly as described. We have loved it. Our driver/guide, Salomon, was the best. Very helpful.
Our experience with Dav Safaris in Uganda was absolutely incredible from start to finish. Uganda itself is one of the most beautiful and diverse countries I’ve ever visited, but what truly made the trip unforgettable was our guide, Job, and the exceptional service from the Dav Safaris team. Job went above and beyond every single day to make sure our experience was perfect. His knowledge of Uganda’s wildlife, culture, and landscapes was outstanding, and he always took the time to explain what we were seeing and answer our questions. Whether it was finding the best wildlife viewing spots, adjusting the schedule so we could maximize our time, or making sure we were comfortable during long travel days, he handled everything with professionalism and genuine care. I’ve traveled quite a bit, and I can honestly say Job was the best tour guide I’ve ever had. What started as a guide-client relationship quickly turned into something more personal, and by the end of the trip I truly felt like I had left Uganda with a new friend. What really stood out was how personally invested he was in making sure we had the best possible experience. Job anticipated things before we even had to ask, helped us spot incredible wildlife, and shared stories and insights that made us appreciate Uganda even more. The gorilla trekking, the national parks, the scenery, and the people made this trip truly special, but having such a dedicated guide elevated the entire experience to another level. If you’re considering a safari in Uganda, I cannot recommend Dav Safaris enough, and if you’re lucky enough to have Job as your guide, you’re in excellent hands. This was truly a once-in-a-lifetime trip and they made sure every moment counted.
Great experience. Everything went as planned and we got to see gorillas. Our guide Solomon was very nice. Super attentive to detail and always hopeful. Highly recommended.
We had an amazing experience thanks to the agency but especially thanks to our guide Hudson. Amazing service, he listened to our special requests (like “we want to eat pineapple now hehe), he knows a lot about Uganda, helped us with visiting the most beautiful places and managed that we saw so many different animals.
Our Uganda and Rwanda trip was truly one of the best experiences of our lives. From start to finish, we felt safe, cared for, and genuinely special. A huge part of that was because of our tour guide, Tonny. He is simply the best guide, in every way that matters. Tonny is knowledgeable, thoughtful, and incredibly kind. Along the way, we had meaningful conversations and learned so much about the culture, the people, and the wildlife. He knows the roads perfectly, connects easily with everyone, and somehow makes you feel like you’re traveling with a trusted friend. After two weeks together, saying goodbye was genuinely hard. What touched us even more was that he checked in on us after we arrived back in Los Angeles. That says everything about the kind of person he is. We are also deeply grateful for the warmth and hospitality of the Bigodi community, the banana man, and the porters who helped us throughout the journey. Their kindness made the experience even more special. Gorilla trekking was something I was honestly scared about. I didn’t think I was physically fit enough to do it. The rangers and porters were incredibly patient, encouraging, and supportive every step of the way. Because of them, I was able to see the gorillas up close. That moment is something I will never forget. The rhino sanctuary was another highlight. The rangers made it easy to see the rhinos up close while still feeling safe and respectful of the animals. This trip was emotional, meaningful, and unforgettable. Uganda and Rwanda are breathtaking, and the people made it extraordinary. If you’re considering this journey, do it. You will come home changed, grateful, and full of stories you’ll carry forever.
We did a 3-day Gorilla Trekking Tour with Dav Safaris and the whole experience was fantastic from beginning to end. Everything was very well organised, so even with the short timeframe and long travel times, we were able to make the most of it. The gorilla trekking itself was absolutely unforgettable and worth every bit of effort to get there. Both accommodations during the trip were very well chosen - in a beautiful area, very comfortable and the food was delicious. Our guide, Solomon, was professional, kind and very knowledgeable. He always made sure that we had the best experience and truly made the trip stand out. I would definitely recommend Dav Safaris, especially if you’re short on time but still want a great adventure. We‘ll remember this great experience for a very long time.
Benja! Following recommendations from several friends, we chose this tour operator, and they did not disappoint. Our guide was Benja, who was incredibly patient and an exceptionally skilled driver. I hadn't realized how challenging the road conditions would be on the way to Jinja and to see the mountain gorillas, but Benja navigated them masterfully. He has a great instinct for choosing the best paths, and my family repeatedly commented on his confident yet cautious driving. Beyond his driving, he took the initiative to point out landmarks along the way. He was also thoughtful, finding safe spots for us to briefly stop and photograph the beautiful scenery and animals we encountered. This really showed his patience and attention to detail. As our English isn't the strongest, we were especially touched when, during the guide allocation before the gorilla trek, Benja stayed with us to ensure we kept up and were assigned correctly. It was an unexpected and truly heartwarming gesture. Our trip to Uganda was fantastic, but reflecting on it, a skilled and punctual guide is absolutely essential for such an experience; they truly elevate the entire journey. We feel so fortunate to have had Benja. We are genuinely grateful to him and highly recommend both this tour operator and Benja to anyone planning a trip to Uganda.
Had a great time! Thanks to my guide Solomon who was fab! Thanks to Reagan who arranged the itinerary so the gorilla trek fell on my birthday.
After searching for tours on the internet, I booked the tour which is actually spread over 4 days inc travelling with Davs Safari from the UK before coming to Uganda. Communicating by whatsap and email. I was met by my Guide (Julias) in Jinja and set off on a 4 day tour. Due to my location the transfer on the 1st day was very long, this wasn’t a problem as I was able to take in so much of the local community and experience real local life. Julia’s pointed out a fare bit of knowledgeable attractions and assisted with any of my requests. Be prepared for a bumpy ride at times (Ugandan massage) id suggest that older or more disabled travellers request comfortable transport whilst booking your trip as some roads are not as smooth as others, don’t feel intimidated not to ask the guide to slow down or speed up. Meal plans throughout were catered for and were of good standard and variety, all I had to pay for were my drinks, after reading the contract back I should have only had to pay for alcoholic drinks so make sure you confirm this from the start. I was impressed by all the lodges booked bar one which didn’t seem to have a lot on the menu for breakfast and dinner. All staff were friendly and helpful no matter where I went, there’s a lot of security around so safety wasn’t an issue. Be sure to understand the currency and best to use local shillings UGX or Visa pay (we know it as contactless or card payment) I wasn’t hassled to tip staff at locations, I used discretion and gave as necessary which was really appreciated by the staff. Pack light get all the equipment you need for hiking and get yourself fit for an enjoyable experience. From nature walks, bird spotting, local charitable events, coffee making and banana beer and Gin experience to the highlight of going hiking to see the Gorillas, all was enjoyable. Those with disabilities can hike on certain tours as the local staff will arrange for assistance at a cost. The tours were impressive and I got what I paid for, my only disappointment was that I didn’t get to see a full grown silver back Gorilla like I wanted too, however I didn’t get to see and get close to a family of Gorillas and take some memorable photos. If at all your itinerary has to change in any way discuss this with your guide and then his/hers supervisor, something is always workable. I must again say that my guide was superb all the way, honest reliable and willing to address any issue. The tour itself was good value for money and definitely worth the money I spent.
From start to finish, our experience with Dav Safaris in Uganda was nothing short of incredible. A huge part of that is because of our amazing driver and guide, Jeck. He is not only knowledgeable and professional, but genuinely funny, kind, and made us feel completely safe every single mile of the journey we called Organized Chaos. His sense of humor kept us laughing, and his calm confidence made even the longest drives feel easy and enjoyable. Every accommodation Dav Safaris arranged offered something special and unique—each stay felt like its own adventure rather than just a place to sleep. From peaceful lodges to unforgettable locations, we were constantly surprised by how thoughtfully everything was planned. Seeing the Mountain Gorillas up close was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that left us in awe and deeply grateful. We also had the thrill of zip lining over Lake Bunyonyi, the second deepest lake in the world, which was both breathtaking and exhilarating. Taking a boat ride out to a bungalow felt surreal and peaceful, like stepping into a postcard. On top of all that, getting to try so many different African cuisines was a delicious adventure in itself—every meal added to the richness of the experience. This trip was perfectly balanced with adventure, culture, comfort, and care. Dav Safaris and Jeck didn’t just plan a trip—they created memories we’ll cherish forever. Highly, highly recommend.
Isaac was the best guide, request him! Young couple we got picked up at the airport driven to the mountains. Saw the gorillas the next day then driven back to the city It was so easy, no stress, all our requests were handled no problem.
Well organized and all in time
A magical experience, made even more special thanks to our guide, Benjamin. Uganda exceeded all our expectations with its breathtaking landscapes, incredible wildlife, unforgettable encounters with chimpanzees and gorillas, and, above all, the warmth and hospitality of its people. The entire trip was flawlessly organized, so we didn’t have to worry about a thing and could simply enjoy every moment.
