We did the 3-day Murchison Falls safari with friends in September 2026 and booked direct with Travel with Llwangah. We paid $520 per person which included everything. We stayed at Bamboo Village, the place was clean and comfortable with good food. The tour was very well organized from Kampala. Our guide was professional and always on time. Game drives were amazing - we missed the lion however we saw elephants, giraffes, buffaloes and hippos. The boat cruise to the bottom of Murchison Falls was the highlight of the trip. No hidden costs, everything was transparent. Highly recommend for a group of friends looking for a budget but quality safari. Travel with Llwangah is good at what he does
I had an absolutely fantastic experience with Dark Hills Uganda. From start to finish, everything was incredibly well organised, which made the entire trip seamless and stress-free. As a solo traveller, safety was something I was quite concerned about going in—but I felt completely secure throughout, which made a huge difference to my overall experience. The trip itself exceeded all expectations—we were lucky enough to see all of the Big Five, which still feels surreal! A special shoutout to Francis, who was extremely prompt, professional, and courteous in all communication, making planning effortless. And Chris, our guide, was truly outstanding—an excellent driver, deeply knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what he does. He added so much value to the experience. Even when we faced an unforeseen issue with the car breaking down, both Francis and Chris went above and beyond to handle the situation quickly and efficiently. They ensured an alternate vehicle was arranged without delay and made sure I got back to the airport on time—something I really appreciated. I couldn’t recommend Dark Hills Uganda more highly. A truly memorable and well-managed experience from beginning to end.
This safari was an amazing experience. Our guide’s name was Nasser, super friendly and was very experienced making our stay memorable. We got to see leopards (from a distance), lions, gazelle, giraffes, rhinos (at the sanctuary) , hippos and more. Dry season from what we were told was a good time to go (great weather albeit maybe hot for some). No bugs during the day but they came out at night. Our lodge didn’t have AC and some bugs managed to get into the room so that wasn’t ideal but staff were all very friendly and lots of great food was served at the lodge for supper. Guide picked us up at our hotel in Kampala, and dropped us off at airport even bringing us to the zoo in between as we had extra time after safari and wanted to feed some animals at the zoo. Note, we also completed payment using pesapal which worked fine.
We had an unforgettable 3-day trip to Murchison Falls organized by Francis from Dark Hills. The whole team was incredibly responsive, attentive, and accommodating, especially when we needed to make last-minute adjustments for family reasons. Our private Land Cruiser was very comfortable throughout the journey from Kampala to the Murchison Falls area and back, making the long drives smooth and enjoyable. The river lodge was a real highlight: a stunning setting, beautiful bungalows, delicious food, and genuinely fantastic service. All activities exceeded our expectations, and our guide and driver, Nasser, managed everything perfectly. He looked after us so well and timed each experience flawlessly. We were also grateful to have Erik capturing the moments along the way. This trip was a joint birthday gift for my partner and me, and we absolutely loved every minute. It’s an experience we will cherish for a long, long time. Thank you to the whole team for making it so special!
The experience was wonderful. I literally thought to myself as the trek began, “even if we don’t find the gorillas, this is incredibly fun!” Donny was my driver and he was great, offering great insight into Ugandan life and culture. You should make sure not to miss this trip if you come to Uganda!
Brian was really great to meet and get to know over the past few days, and he is clearly quite comfortable with all the nuances of driving throughout the area, has good relationships with the park rangers, lodge staff, and restaurant staff, and is friendly and knowledgeable. He literally went out of his way to make sure we got to see a lion as close as possible! The tour overall is great, with so many opportunities to observe and explore wildlife and even some unexpected close encounters with elephants!😂 I highly recommend it for the value for cost as well as the time, being able to see as many different amazing animals as we did over just three days is definitely a flagship highlight of my time in Uganda.
We had a great experience! Our tours were wonderful - the Rhino Sanctuary, driving through the park, game drives, seeing the falls and the boat tour. We saw a lot of animals - rhinos, zebra, warthogs, giraffes, elephants, crocks & a couple of lions! Our guides were wonderful - informative, helping, kind and fun to travel with. The lunch spot had good food and was a nice place to relax for the afternoon. Our only disappointment was our lodging. It was very hot and not as clean as we hoped. Overall a great experience!
We had a great experience! The Rhino Sanctuary, drives through the park, game drives, hike to the falls and boat tour were all wonderful! We saw many animals - rhinos, zebra, warthogs, giraffe, elephants, crocks & a lion! Our guides did a great job! They were knowledgable, kind and fun to be with. The only disappointment was our lodging. It was extremely hot with little to no breeze and was not very clean.
This 3 day safari was an amazing and relatively affordable safari to do while in Uganda. We did our trip in early June, and the weather was perfectly okay. The highlight of our trip was walking at the Ziwa Rhino conservatory and spotting game on our drives. The boat cruise was an added bonus, but I think it could have been slightly shorter than it was. The accommodations were comfortable, the food was tasty, and the trip as a whole felt very safe. We had David as our guide and really liked his friendly personality and how knowledgeable he is. As for Murchison Falls, the park is beautiful and vast. We saw baboons, antelope, elephants, giraffes, lions, hippos, crocs, and various bird species. We didn’t get the chance to see and leopards but that’s okay since I’ve been able to see them on other safaris. It is somewhat busy with tourists which I noticed in comparison to game drives when I went in Kenyan conservatories/game reserves. Especially at the lion sighting… there were maybe 15 other vehicles parked to see a few lions with us. Nothing necessarily wrong with that, but I will say getting a more personal visit can be nice especially when the other vehicles are too loud and scaring off the game. We only experienced this at our lion sighting. Overall we had a great time and would love to come back.
Indeed a once in a lifetime experience. It was totally worth it, a real safari experience with breath taking views. It was only us, no other people, so we felt it really personal instead of impersonal mass turism. The communication was smooth. We had a wonderful driver named Brian, he solved all upcoming issues and our special requests (eating local food, organizing an extra hike to the jungle) and told us amazing stories about local life and traditions, so if you have the possibility, ask for him personally.
A mixed bag. The accommodation at tembo safari camp was amazing, could have stayed there for weeks. The cruise and murchisob falls are impressive and you get to see a lot of hippos. The safari part seemed rushed and both the guide and the ranger seemed focused on getting back as quick as possible. We only drove on one big trail and didn't really see many animals up close. Only saw elephants from very far away. No Lions or leopards either. The rhinos are great though. At the price, I would expect more effort put into the safari.
We truly had a wonderful, memorable experience. Robert was an outstanding safari guide and if all your guides are of his quality, you will be 5 star all the way. He was attentive and helped with all our questions. He got us out on the game drives early and we always saw beautiful animals. Very fulfilling experience.
I had a fantastic experience on the Murchison Falls and Rhino safari with Dark Hills Uganda. Brian, our guide, was awesome—super friendly and full of knowledge about the animals and park. We saw rhinos up close at Ziwa Sanctuary and spotted lions, buffaloes, and elephants in Murchison Falls National Park. The view of Murchison Falls was stunning, and Brian made sure we got the best photos. The accommodations were comfortable, and the food was delicious. Highly recommend this tour with Dark Hills Uganda!
I had an amazing time on the Murchison Falls Safari and Rhino trip with Dark Hills Uganda. Our guide, Brian, was excellent – friendly, knowledgeable, and great at spotting animals. We saw rhinos at Ziwa Sanctuary and the Big Five in Murchison Falls National Park, including lions and elephants. The highlight was the breathtaking Murchison Falls, and Brian took us to the perfect spot. The lodges were comfy, and the food was great. Highly recommend this trip with Brian!
My guide, Robert, helped us find all of the Big 5 plus the rarely seen hyenas and jackals! He was very knowledgeable about the animals and the parks. The food was tasty and the lodging was good. The van was a little dated, but it was comfortable and spacious. As a solo traveler, I felt safe and welcome! This tour was true to the advertisement. I highly recommend!
Francis was a great coordinator for our questions and we received all answers in advance of the trip. Robert, our guide was fantastic! He is a very experienced guide and knows the park inside and out. We have enjoyed every moment of our travel and taken a lot of photos capturing unbelievable memories, have seen the Big Five upclose and personal, with exception of a leopard which we have seen from the distance.
This safari experience was a wonderful way to end my trip to Uganda!! I felt very safe and comfortable as a solo female traveler. The accommodations and food were very nice. Seeing the top of Murchison falls in a must-do experience!! It was also amazing to see the bottom of the falls and water animals during the boat drive. My driver, Robert, was an exceptional guide and was able to navigate city traffic and park roads very well! I was unable to see the big five (missed the leopards) but not from lack of trying. Robert went above and beyond during our game drives to make sure we could see as many animals as possible!!
I had a wonderful 3 day safari with Dark Hills Uganda. I saw many different large animals and lots of species of birds as well. Enjoyed the walk to the top of the waterfall and getting soaked in the spray while listening to the roar of the water. The boat safari was my personal favourite, it was wonderful to see the hippos enjoying the cool waters of the Nile. My driver/guide Robert is clearly very experienced with many contacts in the park so we got good tips from the rangers to help track the lions. It took about 6-7 hours to reach the falls from Kampala but the journey is broken in half by the stop at Ziwa to see the rhinos, and by lunch on the way back so it didn’t feel uncomfortable. Thank you Dark Hills, I will definitely consider doing another trip with you if I am fortunate enough to return to Uganda.
Overall an awesome safari for a budget-friendly traveler. Murchison Falls blew me away and I was able to see all Big 5. My guide’s name was Robert who was very knowledgeable, well-connected in the reserve (key for alerts of where animals are), & a safe driver. Vehicle was a bit dated but very comfortable and performed well in the reserve. Accommodation was solid, no frills - but the staff were friendly (despite reviews on Google) and the food was great with healthy portions. Beautiful sunrises from the lodge were a plus. Dark Hills admin was supportive and accessible throughout the trip which was reassuring while traveling alone. I'd recommend to anyone that’s trying to see the Big 5 without breaking the bank.
The original plan was to 'just' go on a safari to Murchison Falls but because of the great driver and guide, the amazing service and helpful advise I decided to extend my trip with Dark Hills. I am so glad I did! It really felt like anything was possible. I loved the accommodations (especially the one in Entebbe!), have seen so many animals and breathtaking views and met lovely people. Thank you, Francis and team, for organizing this wonderful trip and showing me your beautiful country. Will be back!
Such an amazing experience! We visited the top of the falls and did an extended tour of 3 nights in the park. This allowed us to do 3 different game safaris and a boat safari. We saw a lions with little ones, 3 different leopards, plenty of giraffes and elephants and much more. I have been in Murchison Falls before but I would definitely recommend going with Dark Hills Uganda. Robert, our driver, was lovely, funny and knew a lot about the animals. Thanks to Francis for organizing our trip and to Robert for making this trip amazing!!
During our unforgettable journey to Murchison Falls and the rhino sanctuary with Dark Hills Uganda, we had an amazing time! We saw the powerful Murchison Falls and got up close to the rhinos at the sanctuary. Our driver, Robert, made the trip even better. He was friendly, safe, and knew all about the places we visited. We recommend Dark Hills Uganda for anyone who wants an awesome adventure in Uganda!
We had a fantastic experience with Nasser. He showed us this beautiful country and the Murchisonfalls Nationalpark. He gave us lots of helpful tips for our remaining time in Uganda. We’d definitely would recommend a trip with Nasser and Dark Hills.
Before I went to Uganda, I always drove a car by myself in different country's. I really thought that I could drive in Uganda too, but my friend who's living in Uganda did advise against. She recommended Dark Hills, so I listened to her. Couldn't be happier after all! I went with a group of friends. Our driver, Robert, also involved to our friendship. It felt like a lovely family. Everyday Robert was happy and in time (not Ugandan time). We traveled all around the country and saw the most beautiful animals. Dark Hills helped us out to plan this trip, to listen to our wishes. The traffic in Uganda is crazy! But every minute in Robert's car I felt safe. He is a really patient and well experienced driver. Couldn't do it better myself. The most wonderful thing we did was the Gorilla tracking. It was a long drive from Kampala, but totally worth it. Also on the way to Bwindi we saw a lot of beautiful things; different types of nature, the equator, impressive neighborhoods, animals and big hills with gorgeous views I can't even describe in words. That friend of mine who is living here, which I write about before, asked me for yéárs to come over to here. I wish I had done this sooner, because I really fell in love with this country too. If you ever doubt about going to Uganda: GO FOR IT! And ask Dark Hills for advise.
Me and my friends had a great trip to Murchison Falls. To see the animals in the wild was amazing. There are many possibilities to see the park and the animals (morning safari, night safari and even a boat safari). It never ceased to amaze us! Our ultimate goal was to see the big-5, and we did! The combination of murchison falls and the rhino sanctuary was great, as the only missing animals of the big-5 were the rhinos (they are not present in the Murchison Falls national park). Dark Hills created a custom-made tour for us and helped us achieving the best vacation ever. The driver was really nice and we enjoyed his company, we felt really safe while he was driving us all through Uganda. And he helped us spot all the animals (which is sometimes a lot harder than you think! Thank you Dark Hills for creating the best holiday ever, you are a big part of why we fell in love with Uganda. We will be back!
My friends and I traveled to Uganda to explore Murchison Falls. Dark Hills organized a fantastic tour for us that was within our budget. Our guide, Robert, was very knowledgeable and made the trip even more enjoyable. We loved the boat ride where we saw hippos, crocodiles, and the falls, and we were fortunate to spot the big five animals and rhinos on the first day. The hike to the top of the falls was also amazing. Overall, it was a fantastic trip, and we'd choose Dark Hills Uganda again
My friends and I visited Uganda to explore Murchison Falls. Dark Hills organized a tour tailored to our preferences and budget, which turned out amazing. Robert, our guide, was experienced and enjoyable to be around. We highly recommend the night safari in Murchison Falls, where we had close encounters with lions, as well as the boat ride to see hippos, crocodiles, and the magnificent Murchison Falls. Witnessing the big five animals on the first day was a dream come true. Overall, it was an incredible trip, and we'd absolutely choose Dark Hills Uganda again - definitely going to miss them!
I had a really great time! Robert was very flexible and made sure I made the most of my time. We saw all the big 5 plus plenty of other animals. It was truly great. For the fellow travellers, I advise to ask booking a lodge inside the park to be able to book night drives! The best time to see lions is obviously in the early morning and night, but then even after 9am you can still see a lot of other animals so a drive in the park is still very worth it.
Such a lovely place! Stayed for 4 days and because of Dark Hills we have seen everything without rushing. Very pleasant ride and company!
My friends and I came to Uganda to visit Murchison Falls, Jinja & do gorilla trekking. Dark Hills custom-made a tour for us, exactly how we wished it to be and within our budget. We had an amazing time. Robert is really experienced and seems to know all the corners in Uganda. Besides that, he is the best company to have and is jolly! I highly recommend a night safari in Murchison Falls as an additional activity, where we were able to see lions from up close during their hunt for their dinner. The boat ride in Murchison was also great and got us very close to big schools of hippoes, Nile crocodiles and the massive Murchison Falls itself. It was our dream to see the big five and we spotted all of them on the first day, so amazing! All by all we had the best trip ever and would definitely book with Dark Hills Uganda again. Gonna miss you guys!
The 3 days Murchison Falls National Park and Rhinos Safari was an unforgettable adventure. We encountered breathtaking wildlife, with the help of our exceptional guide Robert. the company's communication was prompt and efficient.
We went on a safari to Murchison Falls National Park with Dark Hills Uganda and had an amazing time. We saw a herd of black rhinos, hiked to the top of the falls, and went on a game safari. We would highly recommend this park to anyone looking for an amazing wildlife experience.
My 3-day expedition in Murchison Falls National Park with guide Robert from Dark Hills Uganda was an absolute thrill. Tracking rhinos, game safaris, and boat adventures exceeded expectations. Robert's expertise and passion for wildlife made every moment exceptional. From encountering majestic rhinos up close to spotting elephants, giraffes, and lions, the experience was just amazing. The boat safaris along the Nile River provided a unique perspective. I highly recommend this adventure with guide Robert for an unforgettable wildlife encounter in Uganda through Dark Hills Uganda.
I can't begin to express how incredible my 3-day Murchison Falls & Rhinos Safari was, and it was all thanks to the amazing guide, Robert. Seriously, this guy knows his stuff! His passion for wildlife is contagious, and he made the entire adventure even more special. We witnessed the sheer beauty of Murchison Falls, and I was left speechless by the rare encounter with the endangered rhinos. The itinerary was perfectly planned, allowing us to soak in the breathtaking landscapes, get up close to fascinating animals, and learn about conservation efforts in the area. Our accommodations were cozy, and the whole trip was flawlessly organized. If you're looking for a life-changing experience in the heart of nature, this safari is a must-do, and having Robert as your guide will make it an absolute blast. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!
I was at Sambiya River Lodge and they had excellent Customer service with magnificent outdoor soft adventure activities like Zip lining and canopy walls I also love the early morning game drive through several tracks in the Park
It was all smoothly organised via watts App the communication was great. Robert our driver, guide was very easy and open to our needs and wants Thank you
It was really a nice trip, we went with my friends with Dark Hills Uganda, they organized everything for us, Francis was always answering our emails quickly, Robert who was our guide was really great. Murchison Falls National Park has a lot of wildlife, we also did a hike to the top of the falls. It was really fun. Thanks Francis and Robert. I completely recommend Dark Hills Uganda!
The Safari was my highlight for the year. The scenery is refreshing, people are amazing, the food at Murchison River Lodge was to die for. The Safari mates made the whole experience fun and memorable.
Every good turn deserves another. This is what I think about when my mind is jotted in the Murchison Falls adventure. The freshwaters, air, views, landscapes, wild animals and not to mention the falls. Sister gal... like a person I know would say, PLEASE take me back. If you are searching for a lifetime trip, get yourself at Murchison. If you want to explore the most exciting parts of this large park, I can hook you up with Nature Boy who will make you wish you met him a decade ago. Kanve ne wano before I start booking for another trip in December.
Everything was great right from the car hire service provider (Dark Hills Uganda), to the Lodging facilities at Murchison River Lodge, meals and tour guides.
The trip was very well organised and a memorable experience, undoubtedly I'll travel with nature boy again simply because Shaban paid attention to detail and was diligent in ensuring that all of us a home away from home vibe so please maintain the same standard of customer care.
The game drive was fun! Being my first time visiting a national park, it was an exciting experience seeing the animals at such proximity! My wife and I had a quality time. Thanks to @travelwithnatureboy and @darkhills uganda
The trip provided knowledge about conservation of wild life and preservation of the same, using eco safaris cars in game reserves. I also got the chance to watch a short movie - Sides of a Horn which triggered the need to campaign against poaching. This was no ordinary Safari. We did not just get to see the wild animals. We learnt how we can preserve them for future generations as well.
I really enjoyed the hippos, crocodiles the way they hide under the waters OMG it was awesome and also the pressure of the falls gave me a second thought of revisiting Murchison again and again, cant wait to take back my friends so that they can also share the same experience.
Loved the hike at the top of the falls. The game drive was good, hope to see cats on my next trip. The transport to and from the park can be improved.
The team was very organised and kept every bit of their word, very professional and experienced. I will definitely do more trips with them.
I had an excellent time in Murchison Falls with #TravelWithNatureBoy and moving with Dark Hills Uganda! Drivers were great, very reliable and enjoyed learning from them and connecting. Definitely will travel with Dark Hills again in the future, hopefully with one of their biking trips!
Thanks to Robert my journey was worth it... The trip was super comfortable plus the accommodation and meals were an offer to go for... Looking forward to working with dark hills Uganda again
