Athena Hotel Kampala

We had a wonderful birthday wine tasting experience here, even though it was our first visit and we arrived late. Shantal at reception welcomed us so warmly and made us feel right at home. Simon, our sommelier, struck the perfect balance between expertise and ease knowledgeable, engaging without over performing. Each wine felt thoughtfully chosen, and his guidance made the tasting feel both elevated and relaxed, even for those of us not fluent in wine language. The food prepared by Chef David was excellent and paired beautifully with the wines. Thank you as well to Mwesigwa for kindly helping us pack our food. Overall, a memorable experience and a place we’d happily return to.

Had a lovely experience at Athena, I stayed for almost two weeks. The staff were lovely, very friendly and welcoming, always willing to assist and go above and beyond. The rooms were clean, tidy and safe and I would definitely use Athena on my next visit to Kampala. I genuinely have no complaints, barring perhaps getting heavier weights in the gym - but that’s personal preference. Thank you once again!

Beautiful hotel, so pristine, the rooms are so so clean and the hotel is still new and very well maintained. The location is amazing in the amazing town of Bugolobi close to all major things you would want to do depending on your lifestyle, if you are a night person, "Bandali rise" with all the upscale clubs is just a few meters walk away and if you are like me, churches are just about the corner, food areas are a stone throw away, Village Mall is just around the corner and the hotel is just a few kilometers to the city center (so, location is perfect for everything, not so much in the CBD but also not far way to miss anything a city has to offer!) The staff are very good; they welcomed me so well from the security guard to the reception personnel all the way to the gentleman who took by luggage to my room who helped me settle in and showed me everything in the room. There is even a welcome note with your name at the elevator area, I found that really unique! Breakfast was definitely good (the fresh Ugandan fruits) and meals were all well done in addition to courtesy of the staff in the restaurant I definitely have made this one of my favorites places to stay every time I travel back home and absolutely recommend it

We stayed at the Athena Hotel during our stay in Uganda Africa. Excellent hotel. Food was great. Staff was excellent. Very friendly and very clean. I would recommend it if you are looking for a great hotel!
