We stayed here a few weeks back and while there are some good points, for us there were too many negatives to give a higher score. Firstly, I know that a lot of Turkish hotels do this, but it wouldn't be classed a 4* hotel in Europe, the finishing touches are below par and in our opinion, it's not worth the hefty price you pay - although that's kalkan for you. Cons: - The hotel sits on a busy road with restaurants etc on. This means that no matter what room you're in, there is always loud music or noisy cars/dogs etc until at least 2/3am. I found it hard to sleep even with ear plugs. - The choice of linen is really odd, sort of like a towel fabric and too small for a king size bed. Very small pillows with cushions added on top to add depth, but basicslly very cheap furnishings - The furniture follows the same pattern, odd room decor with IKEA-esque frames. Our bed kept breaking and we weren't doing anything exciting! - Our bathroom was scuffed but the shower was big - The balcony could be nice but you essentially just get a view of a busy street, no matter what room you're in, so feels quite pointless - In our opinion, this hotel is overpriced considering the quality of the rooms and the lack of sleep - The location isn't bad, next to Kalamar bay, but very steep hills so it depends what type of walker you are. It's not in the center if that's what your after - WiFi is slow Pros - The staff are friendly. In other hotels across the area the staff can come across as too intense, the young staff here are very relaxed - The breakfast is decent, better than breakfast we've had at other hotels - They provide some nice activities, which are all organised via their sister hotel true blue - The partnership with Kalamar beach club was helpful

This is one of my favourite hotels in Kalkan, and I’ve now returned for a second year in a row, which says everything! The rooms are always spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated with a cosy, home-like feel, and have everything you could need, from full air conditioning to luxurious bathrooms and incredibly comfortable beds. The staff are so accommodating and genuinely care about making every guest feel welcome. The breakfasts are fresh, healthy, and offer a great variety, and the dinner options are just as impressive. My mum and I especially loved the service from Pelin Kipcak. We were so happy to see her again this year! Her warmth, kindness, and generosity never went unnoticed, and she made us feel so comfortable throughout our stay with her welcoming presence and exceptional service. I will always come back to Payava, not only because of the comfort and beautiful hotel itself, but because of the amazing people who do such an excellent job running it. Without a doubt, it’s one of the best boutique hotels I’ve ever stayed in, and I couldn’t recommend it more highly!!
We had a really lovely week at The Payava Hotel 21/5 - 28/5. Excellent reception staff who were always so helpful, kind and charming. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was very good with plenty of choice and the restaurant staff were efficient, polite and friendly. Our room was spacious, very comfortable and always clean. The pool was lovely and warm with the bonus of pool towels. Taxis were always available within minutes for a journey to the centre of Kalkan. There is really nothing that could have been better, so top marks to Payava. Thank you for a super week, you deserve the recognition..
The hotel is great. The staff is even better. If you are a couple trying to enjoy the area, don't think about it to much. The rooms are ample, clean and very comfortable. Specially ocean view ones. The breakfast options are amazing and delicious, the rest of food at other meal times is very good per value, specially if you don't want to go out. The location is a bit far from the beach, but is worth it for the quite around. If you have a car won't be a problem. And the location is good to drive to Kas or fethye
Perfect short stay at a perfect location with superb and friendly staff. Breakfast is gorgeous with fresh produce, homemade jams and even cake. Heated pool to swim in and everywhere spotlessly clean. Staff are wonderful and always smiling. I would definitely recommend. Special thanks to Neymar who was there when I checked in and to all the other staff whose names I can't remember.
