Johannesburg: Wine Tasting And Cableway Half Day Tour

We had one day in Johannesburg as we had a late flight. What a great way to spend a few hours before leaving town. This is a smaller family run operation that takes a lot of pride in showing you a good time. The owner's son, Cole, picked us up at the hotel and made great conversation. He was polite, professional, and informative. The view from the top of the Cableway was incredible. The wine tasting room was very nice and very pleasant. They showcase wines from a specific winery and change each month so the wines you get today may not be the winery you get the next time. The wines we tasted were mixed but my wife really enjoyed one and we bought a bottle to take home. The price was extremely inexpensive, which I think all of the wines are very reasonably priced. My wife and I give this tour our stamp of approval and would recommend highly.

It was a nice drive out of Johannesburg to the cableway and interesting to read about the places of historical significance at the top.

I will discuss our stops, but for me, the guide made this a trip I will never forget. Stuart, the proprietor, kept us informed even before we left the US. Upon our arrival, he made sure to let us know who our guide would be and what time he would meet us. Cole was our guide. He was very personable and friendly. On the drive to the cable car and to the wine tasting, Cole asked us about our travels, etc. By the time we finished, we felt as if we had a new friend. I will review the two stops in detail separately but know they were very good. The cableway was really nice and provided great views of the area. The wine tasting was excellent. The person that told us about the wines was knowledgeable. A good experience at both stops. I give this tour operator my HIGHEST recommendation and am sure you will find them to very good.

We have a fantastic time!! A great way to spend a day in South Africa! We even saw a monkey.

Had a fabulous day out with Cole as our driver and guide. Enjoyed the drive through the countryside and finding out about history as we drove. The cable car ride was excellent with spectacular views.Our final stop was the wine tasting and a perfect way to end our day. We highly recommend this tour.

What a memorable day. The cable car ride up the mountain set the tone with incredible scenery, followed by a delicious breakfast overlooking views you could stare at for hours. Our guides were excellent — organised, engaging, and genuinely passionate. Ending the tour with wine tasting in Johannesburg was the perfect touch. A truly well‑rounded experience.

My wife and I had an amazing time on this tour. The views at the top of Hartbeespoort made us truly feel like we were on top of the world! This is great for couples or families, kid friendly! We then went to a wine tasting where we tried numerous Darling Cellar wines with some charcuterie. Fun for couples a big group! But what made this experience truly special was our kind and knowledgeable tour guide, Stuart. He was extremely accommodating, flexible and great with communication. Our flight was delayed a day late and Stuart took the extra effort to pick us up directly from the airport with all of our bags. He helped us feel safe and secure throughout the day and even made us a fun filled same day video of our entire experience. Truly a gem of a person! If I could give more stars, I would! Thank you, Stuart, for making our visit in Johannesburg memorable!

Experience I had was amazing top of the world. Enjoyed every bit of the trip with all my heart. The amount I've spent was worth it and given time again I would do it again

Professionalism overload👌🏽From picking us up from the hotel to going to the Harties for the cableway and going for the wine tasting, Stuart was absolutely amazing. So professional and friendly. He made our journey super fun. From singing along to Amapiano and Umbhaqanfa to playing taxi driver😆Oh man this is one experience you have to try for yourself. Overall we’re absolutely enjoyed our time with the Tourist❤️It’s a 10/10 from us.

This was the first activity my husband and I planned for our time in SA and it was perfect. Our tour guide, Stuart, was awesome. We were picked up from our hotel and the drive to the Cableway was comfortable and scenic. Stuart provided history about the area on our way there and took photos and videos for us as we boarded the cableway as well as at the wine tasting. Lovely experience! Highly recommend💓

This was the perfect luxurious and relaxing activity for our final day in Joburg after weeks on safari. The view from the stop of the cable car was stunning, the wine tasting was delicious, and our guide Cole was great. I’d book this tour again in a heartbeat.

Really loved the experience and the guides were great! my mum and I were picked on time and we enjoyed the cable tour - more time is needed there as there are many restaurants, would be great to have a small lunch up the mountains, overall enjoyed the experience! Stuart even took pictures of us, such a bonus! Would definitely do it again

This was such a wonderful, smooth, and fun experience. Stewart made our day truly special. He taught us so much about the history of South Africa while transporting us to the cable way experience. One of the best highlight on our holiday, beautiful experience and we were well looked after, cableway and wine tasting was beautiful.

We took the cable car to the top of the mountain with a beautiful scenic overlook and sat outside and enjoyed a beer before going to the wine tasting. Cole was a delight to show us around, We also enjoyed meeting Stuart and hearing how they started their company. The wine venue was pretty and great wines..

First of all we were welcomed by Stuart with a nice bubbly sparkling wine. And then he took us to the cable cars were we had an amazing time, with girlfriend kept talking about it, after that Stuart took us for wine tasting accompanied by a cheese platter; we enjoyed every last bit. We even bought our favourite bottle of wine. It's worth every penny.

This was a wonder tour, and we really enjoyed our time with Stuart, who is a fantastic guide. The activities were well selected; it was fun and adventurous, but a nice pace. The views from the top of the mountain were amazing, and it was a great way to get a taste of ‘Cape Town’ without the need to travel too far. We definitely recommend this for a couple or adults-only trip.

Had a wonderful experience. First we visited Hartbeespoort and viewed the beautiful scenery from atop the mountain (we used the cableway to the summit). Then we had a relaxing & splendid wine tasting experience. Our 'tour guide' Stuart Crous was very pleasant and fun to be around.

We so enjoyed the wine tasting and hearing all about the wines in South Africa. The story telling and humor was on point. I would have loved this experience better if we went to the cable car first and then stopped somewhere else for lunch (food at the cable car experience wasn’t great). Then hit the wine tasting after lunch. Seeing the sites around JoBerg helped us as tourist understand the area better.

What an amazing experience this was! My fiancé and I love going on unique dates and this was definitely our cup of tea (or should I say, “our glass of wine”). Stuart picked us up from our home in such a neat vehicle with complimentary water and great conversation. We were taken to the cable way where he made sure we had our wrist bands and stayed with us until we were on our way up. We were met at the top with spectacular views, delicious food and ice cold drinks which is exactly what you need on a hot day. Once we were finished, Stuart met us at the bottom with an airconditioned car, waiting to take us to the wine tasting, where he organized everything, all we had to do was sit back and enjoy, in fact, we enjoyed it so much that we bought 3 wines to enjoy at home and reminisce on such a wonderful experience. There was nothing better than going on a date without having the hassle of all of the admin. If you are looking for a romantic, stress free date, this is the one to book! 5/5 would recommend!
