Discover the origins of humankind on this approximately 6-hour tour to the Cradle of Humankind, one of South Africa’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites and home to some of the world’s most significant paleoanthropological discoveries. Visit the Maropeng Museum, meaning “returning to the place of origin,” to explore human evolution, extinct species and the impact of human activity on the planet. Continue to the Sterkfontein Caves, subject to availability, one of the world’s richest paleoanthropological sites and the location of remarkable discoveries including Mrs. Ples and “Little Foot,” a 4.17-million-year-old near-complete Australopithecus skeleton.
The tour includes return transfers from Sandton hotels and entrance fees to Maropeng and the Sterkfontein Caves. If the Sterkfontein Caves are closed due to rain or flooding, the Malapa Museum will be visited instead. Lunch is not included.
