Half Day Lion Park Tour From Johannesburg Or Pretoria

This was a last minute idea and it was perfect. The shuttle to and from our hotel and to the park was perfect. The driver was very knowledgeable about the history and and South African culture. The tour guide at the park was very nice and she was a great photographer as well. Would definitely recommend this to someone who wants to do just enough looking at animals and it not taking up your whole day.

Lebo was fantastic. Very knowledgeable and gave us heaps of interesting information on the way to the park. The guide at the park was brilliant. Saw all the animals and they were looking healthy and happy

This was a fantastic opportunity to get up close to lions in their natural habitat. There were several prides of lions to visit, and the secure vehicle lets you get right up next to them as they go about their day. In addition, there were opportunities to see lion feeding, cheetah feeding and wild dog feeding. This is a tour not to be missed!

The experience exceeded expectations. Our driver Pollen was excellent and added many cultural and local perspectives. The park itself had numerous opportunities to see various animals close up in natural type habitat. Dana, our park guide and driver had vast animal knowledge and added considerable value.

We had a wonderful time! From the start where we were picked up right on time at our hotel with our driver Lebo. Then an exciting 2 hour safari ride in which we experienced up close lions cheetahs African wild dogs, hyenas giraffes impalas warthogs and more, relaxed with a little shopping and then a peaceful ride back to our hotel in Johannesburg .All we needed to do was call their number and they did the rest! Had a great trip to the lion park. Also saw white lions, black and spotted leopards, giraffes, hyenas etc. Our driver was very knowledgeable.

Nicolas the driver was friendly, punctual and helpful. Sadly my final day in Johannesburg was messed up as I booked this tour due to the timings ( which were confirmed) and I was told pick up would be 8.00. The day before I was told due to a large group we would now be moved to 10.00. We did not get back to joberg until 15.30 as hit rush hour traffic giving me no time to do my planned afternoon. Lion park itself was wrll organised, clean amd a fun way ro see lots of lions amd other animals. It was great that the humans travelled by cage while the lions had lota of space despite being in enclosures. What felt less good was the 2 leopards that appeared to be in a very small enclosure and more like a zoo. Overall this isn't an authentic gamedrive but worth a visit if short on time and want to see lions up close.

An enjoyable way to spend half a day or so. We were picked up from our Johannesburg hotel and driven to the park where we had a short wait before the tour itself started. Our driver/guide was very knowledgeable and the park is set out to allow very close access to most of the animals.

We went on our first safari last week but only saw 2 of the Big 5. Our tour guide did not disappoint us at this venue, Lion and Safari Park was the perfect way to close out our week in Johannesburg. Watching the lions feed from the safety of the vehicle had all of us leaning forward. We also passed wild dogs, hyenas, giraffes, wildebeest, and zebras throughout the park, with plenty of good light for photos and staff happy to talk conservation. Evie made sure this last day landed the way the whole week had; it was enjoyable, well-run, and safe. A strong finish to a week we won’t forget.

I had a great experience at the Lion & Safari Park. It was the perfect half-day trip from Johannesburg and a great way to experience South Africa’s wildlife. The park is well organized, the facilities are clean, and everything ran smoothly. We saw lions, cheetahs, wild dogs, zebras, and several other animals, and our guide shared interesting information throughout the drive. A special thank you to the driver, Lebo, who was incredibly kind, professional, and welcoming. He made the experience even more enjoyable with his positive attitude and excellent service. Great day …had a 2 hour truck ride around the park . Saw prides of lions, including white lions. Saw zebras, wild dogs, hienas,and fed the giraffe.

Lovely experience, enjoyed seeing all the animals and amazing staff.

My adventure began when Nicholas picked me up at my hotel. He was so kind and had a great sense of humors, putting me at easy right away as a solo traveler. When we got to the park he took us to the ticket booth and helped us get acclimated with directions. The tour itself was unreal. Being so close to lions was an experience I never thought I’d have. Our guide Masan, was full of interesting facts, funny anecdotes and gave each of us the very best experience. He took pictures for me and helped create memories I’ll have for ever. I loved this experience and wish everyone had the opportunity to go.

Highly recommend this tour! The transfer service was easy and the guide was very knowledgeable. The park was beautiful, and had a coffee shop, connivence store and restaurant. We were able to see so many animals during our drive. Def worth the trip if you are staying in Johannesburg.

This was a Very Informative and Educational experience. One gets to see the animals at a relatively close distance. Dusty, the tour guide, had many things that she had learned over 11 to 12 years of working there.

I travelled from Canada for work with one free day. I chose this tour because I wanted to see some scenery and experience a safari. It was great. The driver who picked me up from the hotel was very knoknowlwdgable and I learnt some history about the region. The safari tour was great as well. We went right into the enclosures. Saw the wild dogs and cheers get fed. . If you don’t have alit if time, I recommend this for a half day excursion .

The Lion Park was worth every penny! If you’re able to go on a feeding day it makes the trip that more spectacular and exciting. I got to witness 3 feedings (Lions, Cheetahs and African Dogs), other encounters included black leopard, Ostrich, Giraffes (which I got to feed), lots of other animals.

It was a perfect balance of excitement and safety. Good for taking closeup pictures.

We appreciated the easy pick-up to ensure we made it on time to our safari. It was such a great experience with loads of up-close encounters with lions!

This was a fantastic experience in every way! Our driver from MoAfrika, Lebo, was amazing. He arrived precisely on time and he gave us some helpful background on South African history on the way to the Lion Park. And the safari at the Lion Park was incredible! We saw lions, leopards, giraffes, hyenas, zebras, impalas, and more. And we saw them up close. The entire trip was amazing and I would highly recommend it.

wonderful experience to see the wild animals as they are being fed, and they are able to roam around. The most exciting was when we stopped at the hyena enclave and giraffes were roaming around, and we could stand among them.

Quite poor! Given that the cost was nearly 5K rands, it was a disappointment that there were no many animals as we expected. I believe Pretoria Zoo was a better experience and the cost is less than 10%... However, staff were very friendly and welcoming.

Mash from Moafrika was an amazingly friendly and approachable guy so glad it was him that took me for the tour . The Lion park was great we got to pay Zoe the friendly giraffe saw heaps of lions zebras bucks and lots more . Was a brilliant end to my African holiday . An amazing tour well worth the time . We were up close to the animals in their normal habitat. How well cared for these animals are make this a very special place for the animals and for us to be able to see them.

I did the Lion and Safari Park tour. It was amazing. Everything was great from the start. The driver who picked me up at the hotel was amazing. I learned so much about South African culture on the ride to and from the Safari. He was very knowledgeable,friendly and professional. The safari itself was awesome. Saw so many animals. I was amazed. I would def recommend Mo’Afrika Tours to anyone who’s looking for this experience. It’s well worth it.

This was a great excursion. It needed a slightly earlier departure than planned as the outbound journey was hampered by road closures linked to the G20 conference which was being held close to our Johannesburg hotel. The extended journey time did not impact us as we arrived in time for our booked time. It was fascinating to see the animals at close quarters, especially the white lions. We felt safe in the vehicles and our guide was a mine of information to enhance our understanding of the animals.

I recently spent time in both Johannesburg and Cape Town, and the trip was an unforgettable experience with a mix of excitement, culture, and breathtaking scenery. Joburg surprised me with its energy and history. I enjoyed exploring key spots like Sandton, Rosebank and the vibrant local markets. Cape Town was the highlight of the trip. From Table Mountain to the beaches and the Cape Peninsula, every day felt like a postcard. I loved the tours, the ocean views, and the food scene. My transfers and tours were smooth and well-organised, and the guides were friendly and knowledgeable. Cape Town felt safer and more relaxed, and I genuinely enjoyed every moment here.

This was an amazing 2 hour lion park tour. The guide gave us a little history on our way to the park as we went by various places. The tour guide at the Lion park was very funny and knowledgable, making it easier to remember facts about the animals. Great experience!

This was excellent - way more up close than I thought we'd get to the lions! Very reasonable (<1 hour) drive to the park, and then lots of animals. The giraffes walk right up to you. Would definitely recommend!

The tour was really nice. The park is great and you can see predators that you don't get them often in the wild. You also step out of the vehicle and can have contact with some animals

Loved this tour! We were picked up 2pm at our hotel and then went to the Lion Safari park for a two hour tour on the jeep; and then back at 6pm. Everything went very smooth

We booked the service with Fefe on Thursday to the Lion Park Safari from Rosebank. And we’re collected from our hotel promptly. Fefe our driver, is and was the most wonderful guide and companion for our journey. He made us all feel comfortable and confident with our trip. He was very hospitable and friendly! A kind man with great knowledge! My friend also adds he was lovely, a safe driver and easy to talk to. Additionally, the Lion Park Safari was amazing! We got to see all the animals they have. And our guide on the truck was also amazing! So much knowledge! Great sense of humour and friendly! Answered all the questions and gave us a great tour!! Thank you for the experience! L
