Exclusive Safari Flight

We had a wonderful balloon flight. Celebrating a special moment we decided for a unique flight, only us and the pilot. All was arranged well. We were picked up very early, but on our way to the starting point it was quite misty. At first it was not sure whether we could go up, but when the mist started to dissapear it turned out to be a bonus. What a beautiful morning with just veils of mist in the background and the sun coming out. See the picture of the other balloon following us. The pilot told about the environment and he pointed us at animals roaming below. It was a great experience saluted with a glass of bubbles.

This morning we had a hot air balloon ride. What an incredible life experience. The team were knowledgeable, making us both feel relaxed before the experience. We have come from the Uk to celebrate my 50 th birthday, just this experience was worth our trip. Kind, considerate, making us aware of the history of the area, finding all the wildlife, to make the experience a life event. An amazing start to our holiday and my 50 th year of life. The entire experience was amazing. The pilot made a point of making us feel exclusive and special. He was so attend to our every want (the experience was not about 'needs') and he went out of his way to accommodate us and make us feel at ease. The ground crew (though I am ashamed to admit that I do not recall their names) were just as amazing.. Following our flight with precision, eager to help us in and out of the basket, taking pictures for us, answering any questions we had, friendly, beyond helpful, knowledgeable in every aspect of the balloons. I truly believe that the trip would not be possible without the combined efforts of the ground and flight crews.

Best Birthday treat ever! Best Piot, best balloon, best experience. We practiced the landing position (we all got it right🤗), navigation was expert, Jaapie showed why he is chief pilot, knew so many of our local friends and neighbours (we live nearby). We'll give him a big cup of coffee if he lands on our farm!

What an experience! Unforgettable from the moment we arrived at the spa pickup point to the breakfast afterwards. The whole morning was fantastic, safe and amazing views over the lion park and cradle of humankind. Thanks to Harold and his 2 colleagues who were funny, friendly and most of all, kept us safe. Our instructor, Marius, was incredibly welcoming, and his hospitality immediately put us at ease, making us forget any doubts or nervousness we had. Andries, our pilot, took us on a breathtaking journey that helped us overcome our fears of leaving the safety of the earth. He truly made it an unforgettable experience, guiding us to a destination that was entirely unknown, just as he promised. Once we landed, Marius took us on a fascinating journey back in time, telling us where the first hot air balloons were tried and tested. We celebrated our adventure with a remarkable glass of French Champagne, toasting to our incredible achievements. At the lodge, we were warmly welcomed by the breakfast team, who prepared a magnificent buffet feast, making us feel like royalty. Absolutely amazing experience! One of the first activities I booked for our SA trip (hi from SA by the way as we are still here) and an absolutely must do activity even if you’re afraid of heights like me. The staff and pilot were super reassuring, the sights were incredible and the breakfast afterward was absolutely scrumptious and plentiful (major kudos for the omelette guy!). Such great hospitality overall- totally worth the cost and they do offer a group flight for a little less. But if you’re coming to the Johannesburg area, by all means give this one a shot - you will not regret it. Wish I could post pics!

This was absolutely amazing... I have no words to describe what an incredible experience this was! The crew was friendly and very professional. Great knowledge shared over a bottle of Champagne afterwards at 08h00. I was amazed to hear that ballooning had been done for three centuries, more so discovering that the maiden flight was done by a 'sheep'... thank you Harry and Mark...

Was one of the most amazing experiences ever, definitely a bucket list item ticked off for most of us and no regrets. Our best company year end function yet. Then thanks to Marc and his crew, absolutely insane effort from preparation to getting us off the ground to the most insane flight over Cradle Moon and then landing right onto the trailer. Crew very helpful and as excited as we where for our first hot air balloon adventure. Thanks guys we will get your adventure out there for others to enjoy and experience.

This was such an unforgettable experience. From start to finish, everything about this tour was incredible. We arrived to a beautiful lodge and were treated to coffee and tea - we even got to see the beginnings of a beautiful sunset. We were transported to the balloon launch sight where we got to see the balloons being inflated, and started our flight shortly after. During the flight, our pilot Harold pointed out several areas of the Cradle of Humankind, and we got to see rhinos, zebras, wildebeests, impala, and even an emu! The views were breathtaking. Following the flight, we toasted with champagne and orange juice and headed back to the lodge for quite the breakfast buffet! It was a delicious spread. From start to finish, the experience felt like a dream and I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Great experience for the couple looking to have a romantic flight on their own. Organisation and communication of arrangements was efficient, with all the staff, especially the pilot, being friendly and courteous. Good value for money if looking for a more personal experience.

The company arranged everything last minute, very professional. The guide was on time and friendly, albeit nervous and not a timeous communicator at that time of the morning when you require some direction. Also the company requested us to be there too early on threat of cancellation, only went up about an hour later. Greeting was average on arrival in the dark, everything organized but refreshments could have been better for the price. No snacks as advertised, only basic coffee and tea in basic crockery. The ride itself was lovely, three sightings - few gemsbok, two rhino, and some bushbuck. But doesn't seem like a widely stocked reserve so not really worth taking this option. Very small basket, kind of cramped, doesn't go very high, and the view is pretty average in the area. Not much going on. Over before you know it.

The exclusive safari flight is a lot pricier than the group trip but it proved to be well worth the investment as the experience was out of this world. The trip was a special birthday treat for my husband and he couldn't have been more thrilled with his experience. My interaction with the company both before the trip and on the day was always professional, helpful and friendly. Booking was an easy and efficient process on their website, and the follow-up interactions were no less efficient. The trip on the day was peaceful and beautiful with a unique viewing perspective from the sky. We saw a fair number of animals, as well as a scenic gorge and rivers. I would definitely recommend the experience as a gift for someone who might have everything. AirVentures is definitely the company to do it with and the sparkling wine and breakfast after the flight was just the magical touch one needed to conclude a surreal morning experience.
