Hi, I went on your Cheetah Tour. I would like to put out the biggest ever thank you to John Black, my guide, driver and all round fantastic saviour. He went heaps and bounds over his job description to help me in a situation that was none of his concern. I would like to give him the biggest award in the history of tourism and thank him for his incredible assistance. Whilst on the tour to the Cheetah Centre he found out that my luggage had not arrived with me the previous night. At the end of the tour after he dropped the others back at their hotels, he took me to a shopping centre where I could purchase replacement clothes etc as I was due to head out on a 6 week tour at 6.30 the next morning. After several hours shopping he came back and picked me up, then we found out my bag had arrived at the airport after all. So he agreed to take me to the airport and collect it. by this time it was nearly 7.00 pm. We got there and it took almost 2 hours to actually locate it within the airport complex, walking from one office to the next and often back again. He got me, and my bag, safely back to my hotel. I left him with all my purchases for earlier that day, clothes, vanity items, duffle bag, all new, as well as a large tip, as a thank you for his extraordinary help. I hope he got home okay and managed to get some sleep before his early start the next morning. Well done John Black, I will never forget your incredible help and have told many many people about my bad but wonderful first day in South Africa.

What a wonderful facility! The staff and the center itself are amazing. You can see how much they truly care for the animals and love their jobs. John was my driver/guide and he was a delight; he’s a great conversationalist and a pleasure to be around.
Nice opportunity to see Cheetahs and other wildlife up close. Friendly and knowledgeable guide. Recommended.
Collins was an excellent guide strongly recommend doing this tour. Seeing cheetahs up close was the highlight
The tour operator accepted our booking and payment months ago. Then the day before told us they didn’t do that tour on a Monday morning. Left us high and dry after doing nothing the day before. We had a late flight on the Monday and could not do the tour at a later date
Great experience. We got to see wild dogs , cheetahs, hyenas and zebras and wilderbiest up close. Our driver picked us up from Johannesburg and provided great information about history of South Africa during our trip (about an hour each way). We also had a great guid at the preserve. We really appreciate the hard work that goes on in there.
Being up close to the Cheetahs was a fantastic experience! Capturing their speed on a Cheetah Run was also a bucket list item! The safari was great to see Wild Dogs and Cheetahs in the open - without the cages, and Sam and George provided great commentary and helping us to see the animals up close. The trip was super easy to organise, Collins was a great guide providing a detailed history of Johannesburg on the way. Have a day to spare in Jo'burg - this would be a great choice and a great company to organise it through.
This was a really fun and unique experience if you only have a few hours to explore. They changed the time for pick up a few times, but hopefully they figure out the schedule and won't do that in the future. Collins was great! He gave us a nice history of South Africa while he drove us to the cheetahs. We then got a guide from the center and went on a game drive where we got to see many animals including cheetahs. It was a great day! Highly recommend!
Very interesting, well experienced ranger and well kept animals. Great experience . No crowds so a bit of an intimate time
Had a fantastic time, getting up close to wild dogs and cheetahs
The way to see cheetah up close and learn about the cheetah conservation center and how amazing they have preserved cheetah population from endangered. I was picked up from the hotel and was taken to the center and vice versa with no issue at all. I highly recommend this activity with this tour operator.
Unexpected surprises in that we saw more types of animals than expected. Cheetahs were amazing as were staff.
I had so much fun on this tour, I highly recommend it ! Collins drove me to the centre and was really nice, and then Sam did my amazing Cheetah tour and run.
Amazing experience. Knowing these cats are very shy in the wild, it might be our only chance to see them. If you have the time, you will not be disappointed. Also, our driver, Mo, was a wealth of information, whether it be the history of South Africa/Joberg or trying to teach us basic phrases in Zulu. So worth the time and money.
After two weeks in Africa, I saw most of what I had hoped to see on safari- but not Cheetahs or African Wild Dogs. Because they're endangered, they're a rare sight on safari, so coming here to learn about why and see them up close was great way to end my trip. Stephenson Adventures and my guide, Mammy, made everything so easy- they answered my messages and questions quickly, picked me up from the airport and dropped me back off on time, made sure I had enough water, helped take photos etc. I couldn't have asked for more! Thank you.
Unbelievable experience, our guide, Sam, was funny, extremely knowledgeable and his passion and love for the animals really shone through! The wild dogs were a real experience too!
We loved every minute of this tour. Our guide, Steve, was exceptional, telling us all about Sth Africa on the drive to the Centre. The Centre itself was great. You can get within metres of the cheetahs and wild dogs. Watching them being fed was very interesting.
This experience is packed with information from both the tour driver and tour guide in the centre. Our driver, Collins, was on time, cheerful and super informative about his beloved country. Our tour guide, Sam, told us about the animals we saw plus birds and plants.
Knowledgeable guides at the site (Sam & Wilson) and our local guy who transported us from Johannesburg (Collin) was a pleasure, very intelligent and well informed.
Collins our driver, was polite, friendly and a safe driver. Shared all his knowledge on the trip to Cheetah centre about the history of South Africa, how it came about and pointed out places of intrest. The Ann Van Dyk Cheetah Centre, was very personal and restrictions in number and tours each day. Made for an excellent experience. The work they are doing is first class to protect the species in there care. The guide gave complete information on all of animal/birds we saw. Felt complete safe on on the tour around sanctuary, getting up close to all the animals. Tour was in an open sided safari vechile. On our trip there was only two people sat in each row of seats, so great for viewing. Seeing the Cheetahs and wild dogs roaming free was was what had wanted to witness. In all an excellent trip, with very knowledge driver and guides made for a great experience. I would definitely recommend thus tour.

The center of cheetas was super as our driver very well prepared on all the experience and giving us facts about sud Africa We racomanded him Collins and Stephenson adventures Super service for timing car and Collins
Our driver from Stephenson's Adventures was excellent (Banele), he gave us lots of good information on the drive to the centre. The car was quite new and immaculately clean. On arrival at the Cheetah Centre he escorted us to the Museum down the back to read the information there as we had time before the tour started. The tour itself was good, and we viewed lots of animals with information supplied about the animals, but I had expected more information would be provided about the origins of the animals, the breeding program and how they are returned to the bush. Most of the information on this was in the Museum, but I don't believe the other people on the tour even got time in the Museum, so we were very thankful that Banele took us there. Even so, if you have time it's an interesting place to visit and I highly recommend Stephenson's tours to take you.
The animals were amazing, from the cheetahs and the cheetah run, to the king cheetah, the wild dogs and spotted hyena. Banele was punctual, knowledgeable and very professional.
This was a full 6 hour excursion, even though it was technically only a half day. The drive to the cheetah center is 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on traffic. We had some very nice employees show us through the animal pens and provide very interesting details on each animal viewed. The cheetahs are the stars of the show and we got to observe George interact with them and feed them. Equally intriguing, though, was the visit to the African Wild dog enclosure. Fascinating! If you don't have your own rental car, this excursion is perfect to visit this very interesting site.
Did a tour of the Ann van Dyk Cheetah Center AND Lesedi Cultural Experience today with Mo at Stephenson Tours. Mo was fabulous, telling me of the history of South Africa as he drove tot he Cheetah Center. The entire day was fabulous. Thanks!
We booked a tour to the Ann Van Dyk Cheetah Centre through Stephenson Adventures. I was concerned because they were cheaper than all of the other companies. By a lot! But the whole experience was first class all the way. Our driver Ali was amazing and so informative. The Cheetah Centre was fantastic! A must do activity when in Johannesburg.
What an amazing place this is. This is a centre for breeding captive cheetahs on a sustainable basis The centre’s goal is to keep a viable genetic pool of cheetahs and African wild dogs for release back into their natural habitat. We saw beautiful cheetahs up close including the very regal King cheetahs. We also went on a "safari " around the property seeing lots more animals including the wild dogs and lions. We were able to see these animals being fed which was an eye opening experience. A very worthwhile tour.
The main mission of the Foundation is helping to improve chance for both cheetahs and African wild dogs to avoid extinction. The tour is very educational but not “glitzy”. The tour was an excellent value for the cost.
We wanted to visit the Ann van Dyk Cheetah Centre because I know how elusive Cheetahs can be on a typical safari. This was the perfect opportunity to have a guaranteed sighting of these beautiful cats in their natural surroundings. Fortunately, we also got to enjoy an exciting cheetah run while we were there. Banele, our guide with Stephenson Adventures was friendly, on time, and extremely knowledgeable. It was obvious from the beginning of our tour that his primary goal was to make sure that we had a great experience. So far, I’ve taken two tours with Stephenson Adventures and I highly recommend the company to anybody visiting the Johannesburg area.
I had an amazing time as a solo female traveler... felt safe and everything was awesome back in Jan 2023 so much so I have encouraged others to reach out and use this tour service.
Very nice tour. Banele the tour guide gave a good chat about what to do in Johannesburg. Totally recommended based on the experience they have
Steve was a terrific tour guide with lots of great history and insights to share. The reserve was a great place to visit and I especially enjoyed the cheetahs and wild dogs; but truly all of it was special.
Seeing the cheetahs in an environment where you would think you were in the bush. Everything is done really well and Samuel our guide made it fun and he was very knowing. Thanks to George for interacting with the animals.
Communication was great. Benale showed up excited for the day. He knew a lot about the cities and townships and once we arrived he was a great companion. It is clear that the center cares deeply for the animals and is really trying to improve the loss of cheetahs as well as wild dogs. This was a great day.
The cheetah park was amazing and we had two excellent hours of truck back tour. We saw around 10 cheetahs and they are literally right in front of you. They mieo mieo instead of roar which made you feel so cute. It was absolutely worthwhile the trip. Our guide with nickname Mo is such a gentlemen. He is more than professional in tourist but also warmhearted in supporting the local charity and children welfare. He himself is a great example of learning and working hard to achieve better life. Wish him even better in the future. Definitely recommended.
Seeing a King Cheeta A very rare phenomenon. Love the way the animals and birds are cared. Enjoyed the visit
They are doing good work here saving wildlife. However, they say they have 80 cheetah and they showed us only 4 ( among other animals). Somewhat disappointing
It was a very quick tour of less than an hour compared to the 4 hours mentioned on the website. The price I find is exaggerated for the service provided (ultimately more expensive for a "zoo").
Loved this sanctuary. Love that they don't sell to private buyers. All the animals looked really healthy. The guide and his assistant were phenomenal. I watched the cheetah run as well as to the tour. The drive over with Steven was comfy, convenient and as a solo traveler, I felt safe.
Richard was fantastic - such a friendly person and wealth of information. I highly recommend using his tour company for anything in SA. The Cheetah Centre is terrific too - they are doing such an important job helping to save cheetahs and return them to the wild. They are magnificent. I totally loved the centre. As a bonus, with some time to spare, Richard took us to the Montecasino Bird gardens which was also amazing - so many bird and other wildlife in excellent conditions and spacious enclosures and aviaries - also highly recommended. I thoughroughly enjoy the day.
