Gold Reef City Theme Park Hotel

Amazing Hotel. Its had an upgrade since we visited years ago. Good value for money. Staying in the park is a huge advantage as you get free day access to the park included and no travel needed. The breakfasts have a good variety as well. Staff are friendly and free shuttles available to the casino area.

I stayed at the Gold Reef City Theme Park Hotel while travelling for work. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable, and the staff service was satisfactory. The hotel’s old-world character suits its historical theme, but some aspects—particularly the telephones and check-in process—feel outdated. The technology could certainly be modernised without losing the hotel’s charm. My only other concern was the breakfast arrangement. As I only wanted coffee and a slice of toast, the fixed breakfast charge of approximately R230 seemed excessive. After I raised this, I was eventually charged only for what I had. The theme park was very quiet during my midweek winter stay, but I enjoyed walking around the attractive surroundings. Overall, it was a comfortable and convenient stay for my work trip.

There are places you visit for entertainment and then there are places where you find yourself laughing, screaming, exploring and creating memories that your family will talk about for years to come. Gold Reef City is definitely one of those places. From the moment we arrived, there was such an incredible energy. Whether you're brave enough for the adrenaline-filled rides, enjoying the attractions with the kids, or simply soaking up the atmosphere, there really is something for everyone. What makes Gold Reef City especially unique is that it isn't only about the rides. I love how the experience brings together fun, family and the fascinating history of Johannesburg's City of Gold. It gives you a little piece of our South African story while still delivering an amazing day of entertainment. But my favourite part wasn't any particular ride or attraction, it was experiencing it together as a family ❤️ The laughter. The screaming. The teasing each other about who was brave enough to go on which ride. The photographs. The excitement on the kids' faces. Those spontaneous little moments that become some of your favourite memories. As life gets busier and our children get older, I've realised just how precious days like these really are. Experiences come and go, but the memories we create with the people we love stay with us. Gold Reef City gave us exactly that, a beautiful day of adventure, laughter, connection and memories. If you're looking for a proper family day out in Johannesburg, whether you're a local or visiting our beautiful country, Gold Reef City is absolutely worth experiencing. 10/10 for the memories. 🎢✨ We arrived looking for a fun day out and left with something far more valuable, another chapter added to our family's memory book❤️🇿🇦

There are water restrictions that applicable. They dont tell you this when you make a booking. There is a notice in the room when you get in but its too late then because you've already made the booking. It is very deceitful. No hot water in the morning. They should at least tell you the times so you can plan your showers. VERY DECEITFUL
