African Pride Melrose Arch Hotel, Autograph Collection

From the moment I walked in I was amazed and treated with world class service, greeting, help with luggage, platinum status recognition, complimentary wine and gifts and a hand written personalized not by the guest relations manager! Every single aspect of this stay was amazing. I received an upgrade due to my status but all of the rooms are amazing and beautiful. I was even offered a shuttle service for a fee to all of my destinations. The food was 10/10, the place was clean, immaculate attention to detail, so good, I was compelled to tip the cleaning staff each day as they got down on their hands and knees to check areas and clean everything. I was blown away. However above all was the service received by Atlehang Mofokeng, this gentleman walked me through two room types and explained detail and history of the hotel, the art and the secret areas/compartments within each upgraded room (typically not advertised). He gave me local advice of the surrounding areas and was very attentive to each need throughout the stay. The deputy manager Zinny Mangcotywa runs an extremely tight ship and is a master of her craft at the hotel. She anticipated needs large and small when I had guests visiting the hotel and even helped me to arrange a dinner after hours at one of their signature restaurants at the property. The leadership team at both of the high end restaurants are top notch. Zinny should be promoted and moved to the corner office! If anyone reading this has doubts about staying here. DONT have them, and BOOK IT!. On this trip I also stayed at the Marriott (top notch) and the Protea Fire and Ice, both Amazing choices. Here in Melrose Arc however, the winner is African Pride!

So… as you would expect the hotel is superb. But most of all, the all team is very nice. Special shoutout to Prince at the restaurant, and to the hotel manager (did not catch her name), both exceptional hosts.

Best hotel of a 15-day, six-country Africa trip. African Pride Melrose Arch was exceptional from start to finish: an amazing room, outstanding breakfast, very good dinner, and truly remarkable service. The staff made the experience memorable across the board, and it was clear that hospitality here is more than just good training—it feels like part of the culture. Special thanks to both Princes—the bellhop and our dinner server—as well as Lizwi at breakfast (apologies if I have the spelling slightly wrong), Nathaniel, and especially Zinny at the front desk. Zinny was next-level: incredibly warm, capable, and attentive. She alone would be a reason to return, but the reality is that every part of this hotel was excellent. This was not only the best hotel of our trip, but one of the best hotel stays I can remember in years.

We stayed here after a long travel day - to rest and prepare for our upcoming safari trip. The upgraded room was really unique…the bed was very comfortable. We even had a little view outside into a courtyard area with trees. The drinks were yummy and the area felt very safe, walkable, and upscale. Great shopping and restaurant experiences all around. But the real reason I wanted to leave a review was to thank the staff for such incredible service and attentiveness. I had an unfortunate medical emergency just before I was supposed to get on another flight. We had to miss the flight. But because of this hotel staff, we did not miss a single moment of our once-in-a-lifetime African safari trip. This hotel staff treated our 911 needs with such incredible immediacy and high-functioning communications, I was literally blown away. I cried out of sheer gratitude for how they handled everything for us with such urgency and care. Unbelievable.
