We splurged on the hotel to celebrate the lady's 50th birthday and it was well worth it! Levels of service never before experienced and such a beautiful hotel. Everything was in such good taste. We enjoyed it so much.

Courtyard restaurant was amazing! The chef created dishes which were a pure delight Must order The appetisers: both fried cauliflower and jerusalem philo dough were perfect!! The halomi was less than average But then The st honore dessert was a creation worthy of the Louvre!! Service might be slow around 5-7 pm But beautiful surroundings and worth every bite
The food was absolutely amazing with a wide variety of fresh, delicious options. Everything was really enjoyable and well presented. The staff were generally very accommodating, and Pessel especially stood out—she was incredibly kind and attentive, checking in every few minutes to make sure everything was taken care of. The rooms are gorgeous, beautifully designed and very comfortable. Slippers were provided, along with soft, fluffy bath towels, which added a lovely touch. The interior throughout the hotel is elegant and very well maintained. The location is truly superb—just a short walk to the Kotel through Mamilla, which makes it perfect and extremely convenient for getting around the Old City area. There were a few small downsides worth noting: there is no playroom, games area, or library, which may be something to consider for families. There was also a slight issue of mold on the ceiling in one area and a bath that was dripping a bit. Staff also didn’t assist with carrying the stroller, which was a bit inconvenient. On Shabbos, the coffee was quite disappointing as it had no foam and wasn’t very enjoyable. In general, cocktails on Shabbos are not shaken, so I would suggest avoiding ordering them then. Overall, it was a very enjoyable stay with excellent food, a beautiful atmosphere, and a perfect location. With a few small improvements, it would be exceptional—and I would be very happy to return again.
The Waldorf Astoria in Jerusalem Israel on Gershon Argon street is a beautiful hotel. The rooms are magnificent with great views and very clean. The bathroom is next level as it has an amazing stand alone bathtub and an amazing shower. this hotel is also super high tech as there is a TV built into the mirror. The service at the hotel was phenomenal as check In was super quick and the people at the check in counter were super friendly and helpful. For shabbat purposes they administer physical keys for the room and there is a great minyan at day and night. In addition before shabbat started they went to every room and handed the people mini chocolates. The food served at this hotel was super good as the breakfast was an amazing spread ranging from amazing baked goods to shakshuka. The location of this hotel is also very good. The hotel is located right across from mamilla and a 10 minute walk to the kotel via the Arab shuk. If you walk the other way you are in shaarei chessed within 15 minutes. overall I highly recommend staying at this hotel as it is the perfect experience.
I recently stayed at the Waldorf Astoria for 5 nights, and I have to say that I am bit disappointed by the overall experience considering that this is supposed to be one of the best and most luxurious hotels in Israel. While the hotel and property is undeniably beautiful and historical, and our room was nice, the service was very poor and the hotel is not very well managed. There is clearly miscommunication between the front desk and housekeeping staff. The breakfast at the hotel had very lousy waiters that never checked on our table and it would take us a long time to get their attention just to bring us a bottle of water. During one of our breakfasts, we had to ask a waiter for water 3 times before he remembered to bring it. This unfortunately was not an isolated incident throughout our 6 day stay. The staff are not very well trained, and when they are not waiting on tables they group together and just talk, at times loudly, which doesn't look very professional. There was no indication or signs as to in which dining area the breakfast was taking place which shows lack of consideration for guests, and not all the food at the breakfast buffet was labeled. Also, some of the staff are not very well dressed. Some had wrinkled uniforms, or shirts that were partially tucked in. Not all the napkins at the tables were neatly folded. It looked sloppy. The whole vibe felt unfinished, rushed, and not reflective of what a 5-star, luxurious Waldorf Astoria Hotel should feel like. Another incident that happened multiple times, was that when I was coming back to the hotel, where would be at least 2 staff members at the entrance, and no one ever offered to open the heavy door for me. Again, unprofessional and sloppy for a 5 star hotel.... Another disappointment was the lack of amenities. I have had the privilege to stay at many 5 star hotels, and I was quite shocked that the only bathroom amenities provided were the standard/basic vanity kit and shower cap. Overall, the hotel room was nice, and the hotel was beautiful, but the hotel is poorly managed despite its prestigious reputation, and the staff require much more training. I truly hope that things improve and that the hotel manager changes. I am happy to set up a meeting with the hotel management staff if they would like to hear how they can make necessary changes.
