I was very disappointed with my stay at the Orient Hotel. Before making the reservation, I specifically asked for a quiet room because I wanted a relaxing weekend. I was assured that the nearby construction noise was minimal and that we would be placed in a quiet room. Instead, we were given a room directly facing the construction site. The constant noise made it extremely difficult to sleep and completely ruined the experience. Room service was equally disappointing. We called to place an order and were told someone would call us back—but no one ever did. When I called again to order a hamburger for my daughter, I was told that no hamburgers were available and that the only meat option was entrecôte. We ended up ordering food through Wolt instead. What disappointed me most was the staff’s attitude. When asked at check-out how our stay had been, I explained that the construction noise had made it difficult to sleep. The response I received was simply, “It’s not the hotel’s fault.” Whether or not the construction is the hotel’s responsibility, it is certainly the hotel’s responsibility to be honest with guests, manage expectations, and avoid assigning rooms directly facing the construction after promising a quiet stay. Even the pool area was extremely noisy, making it impossible to relax anywhere on the property. Overall, this was far from the peaceful luxury experience I expected. I did not enjoy my stay and would not recommend the hotel until these issues are addressed.

This was the worst experience of any hotel I’ve ever been to. Please stay away from this place and save yourself the trouble. The noise factor in this hotel is horrific and the walls are super thin that you can hear everything around you. At around midnight we heard a lot of noise coming from the roof, steps and furniture being moved around. There was no way to sleep and I don’t understand how this hotel has no sound barriers whatsoever. The noise and steps above our heads was ridiculous. The staff doesn’t seem to care and won’t be addressing the issue so best to look for somewhere else to stay. Breakfast was good with nice choices of fruit, vegetables, bread and desserts. The staff aren’t attentive and they can’t get an order of eggs correct though. The grilled salmon which we ordered on the first floor for dinner was old, spoiled and we became sick from it. The rooms are average, the elevators are slow and the hotel isn’t kept clean. The location is on a street with heavy construction and the stay is overpriced for what you get. Stay away!
An archaeological conference hosted in the hotel. Presentation and range of breakfast foods and salads, a bank of coffee machines, fantastic snack breaks with baked goods and fruits and nuts. I did not order lunch but I am sure it was first-class. The conference room sound was clear, they set up physical displays posters and a series of screens in the rooms and hall, creating an atmosphere that bound everyone to the subject and shared the organizational message powerfully.
Our home away from home! We love coming to this place. Rooftop pool one of the most beautiful places in Jerusalem. Friendly service including the Aircon technician that came quickly to fix our unit. One tiny glitch for a five star hotel, no toast machine at breakfast! One has to find one of the chefs that is prepared to make toast in the pizza oven which is not the way to go
For anyone interested in placing an order to Orient Jerusalem. Important to think again before finalizing the order. I booked a room at a cost of about $1,000 per night, including breakfast. I received a nice room in the level of a construction site. They were not willing to move me to upper floor to the same type of room and instead transferred me to a smaller room on a different floor. The transfer took over an hour and a half, full of procedures and promises that were never fulfilled. We had to wait an hour for the head of housekeeping to confirm that the room was ready. To our surprise, even after that hour, there were still no hand towels in the bathroom. Carlos, who was supposed to bring us the keys to the new room, was nowhere to be found until the moment we left the hotel. The fruit plate that arrived in the room looked beautiful, but unfortunately the staff member dropped some of the fruit on the table and the carpet. That didn’t stop him from picking the pieces up with his hands and placing them back on the plate. Amazing. In short, I won’t continue to burden you with more details, but there is no value for the price — unprofessional service and endless excuses and evasions from the front desk staff. Think again.
