The King David carries the weight of Jerusalem history from the moment you enter. Global leaders and dignitaries have stayed there for decades, and the building’s reputation is present in every grand public space. The property seems designed for statecraft, business, and negotiation. This is fundamentally a hotel for serious work, with leisure operating around the edges. Our room sat on a middle floor and opened through beautiful French doors. From there, we could see the pool, tennis court, and walls of the Old City within the same remarkable frame. The next morning began with an enormous breakfast spread that we took very seriously. The sheer variety made it one of the most memorable meals of the stay. Beyond the grounds, the location made Jerusalem unusually accessible. Major historic sites and the Old City were close, and our tour guide selected an excellent restaurant, Satya, nearby, which became another highlight. The hotel gave us a practical base for engaging with a city whose scale and history can otherwise feel overwhelming. Perhaps the most impressive operation was the security. It felt like a system designed for visiting dignitaries running in rehearsal mode, fully alert even on an ordinary day. The team was discreet and calm, creating a strong sense of safety within a welcoming atmosphere. Staying at The King David felt like entering a place permanently prepared for history to arrive.

A grand hotel that is in desperate need of a refurbishment in the best location in Jerusalem. I knew this to be true so when I checked in I asked the front desk even though I was in a group booking with many colleagues and I specified for a room that was renovated they said shrugging their shoulders with a very poor sense of customer service “ sorry you are in a group nothing we can do“. I explained that I was a member of the leading hotels in the world and then I stayed at the hotel a few times but the woman at the front desk just shrugged her shoulders. The next day it was greeted by a lovely staff member who’s one of the front desk persons with blonde hair and I explained how I was a bit disappointed about the rooms but everything else was top notch and she said she will find something to do and left at that. Didn’t hear back from her but it was still a nice gesture regardless
We went to the King David tennis court and had a really lovely experience. The court is beautiful and well maintained, and the atmosphere feels very relaxed and enjoyable for an evening game. The price was around 200 shekel, which felt very reasonable for the location and quality. They also provided free bottled water, which was a nice touch. Andrew from the staff was especially great—friendly, easy-going, and made everything smooth and pleasant. After the game, we had supper by the pool, which was a really nice way to end the evening. We ordered schnitzel and fries, which were simple but tasty and satisfying. Overall, a great spot for a relaxed evening tennis game followed by a casual meal in a beautiful setting.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The King David Hotel is one of my favorite places in Jerusalem. After a long and intense day of work, I love coming here to unwind with a good glass of wine. The atmosphere is simply perfect — elegant, peaceful, and full of history. The service is always exceptional. The bartenders and waitstaff are genuinely kind, attentive, and make you feel truly welcome. It’s a place where you can sit quietly with a book, enjoying the calm and the view… or engage in wonderful conversations with people from all around the world. There’s something timeless about the King David — it’s not just a hotel, it’s an experience of Jerusalem itself: serene, inspiring, and full of soul. 🍷✨
