This garden is so lovely and serene. The views and intentionality are amazing and the original curator of the space so friendly and inviting. We enjoyed our time there immensely.

Amazing garden with such a relaxing experience.
A very calming experience. It looks very pleasing to the eyes and the sound of nature is very relaxing. Spent quite some time with my family here. Highly recommend if you enjoy spending a relaxed morning or evening when in Jeju. The place itself was significantly less crowded allowing us to take ample photos at a very slow pace. Also got to meet the founder of the place who was very welcoming. Admission fee was 15000 KRW per adult but we got a discount as part of lotte rent a car
It was a unique and great experience. We had a chance to meet the owner and take a photo with him
Very beautiful garden. Highly recommend
Came upon the garden while passing by on the way elsewhere and decided to stop by. It was such a pleasant break from tourist crowds. It was beautiful and peaceful. Quiet and, with quotes shared throughout, contemplative. The highlight was meeting the founder, Sung Bum-Young.
Lovely garden and got to meet the founder! Very kind man
Very beautiful garden lots of bonsai
Wonderful experience and beautiful layout. We met the founder and he was incredibly friendly and kind.
Amazing and made me ponder deep philosophical life questions. Also very good photo taking spots.
The peace and tranquility pervading the garden are refreshing. The garden's founder gave us a very warm welcome. It is well worth a visit to immerse yourself in nature.
It was a beautiful garden with great weather and no people at all so it was really silent in a good way. If you have time try their vanilla latte in the watch tower, it was really delicious. 100% recommend if you need time relax and do nothing more then look and feel the garden☺️
The garden is very beautiful, and the scenery is even more so. We got to meet Sung Bum-young, who welcomed us warmly and is a very nice and interesting person. I highly recommend visiting here!
Spirited Garden is far more than just a beautiful garden — it is the story of one man’s dedication, patience, and vision. The entire garden was created and shaped by one man over the course of 40 years, which makes walking through it feel like experiencing a true living legacy. What made the visit even more special was having the opportunity to meet the man behind this incredible place — the architect and creator of the garden himself. He was incredibly humble, warm, and gracious, despite having devoted so much of his life to creating something truly extraordinary. I felt genuinely honored and privileged to meet him and hear a little about his journey. You can see his passion and dedication in every tree, stone, pond, and carefully designed corner of the garden. It’s a place that reminds you that great things take time, patience, and a lifetime of dedication. A truly unforgettable experience and, without a doubt, one of the highlights of my time in Jeju. 🇰🇷🌿 A beautiful place, but even more beautiful is the story and the man behind it.
Beautiful contemplative garden! Very peaceful and enjoyable experience. Highly recommend if coming to jeju.
Beautiful. You can see the hard work put in, and I was able to meet the founder at the watchtower!
One of the most beautiful places we have ever visited, we were blessed to meet the founder while we were there and he was so sweet with our baby boy.
Absolutely amazing garden, enables silent reflection and refocus of energy. Spent hours there, met the man whose vision it was to build this natural oasis. Left feeling rejuvated and inspired. Great to let go of negative energy and leave with new purpose.
Calm and serene, with philosophical teaching for self reflection
Our best experience in Korea. A world of its own, serene, beautiful, a profoundly soul enriching experience. We even met the wonderful man who devoted 60 years to developing this outstanding garden /land.
Visited here via a Gate1 tour. Greeted by the by master gardener Sung Bum-young, - now 80. Very peaceful. Not meant to rush through. Highly recommend.
This is a must see if you are travelling in JeJu. It is absolutely beautiful, tranquil, peaceful and an amazing example of the vision and work of one person.
Incredibly beautiful place, so peaceful
Amazing! Experience the silence and energy of such a special surrounding!
Marvellous, a must do in Jeju island 🌺
The garden is beautiful in spring and has a unique feeling of peace. The bonsai are beautiful - but so are the thoughts shared around the paths. Glad I stopped
Wonderful garden, with incredible coffee options! The garden is beautifully curated, with a great bonsai collection, and lovely staff.
So beautiful and peaceful here! The owner is so kind and lovely, please make sure you say hello to him :)
Very beautiful and tranquil. Like being in paradise. Cafe had great service and everyone was very friendly and polite
Upon entering the gardens, you are filled with a sense of peace and calm. The quiet around you touches your soul as you walk and see the sculptures and bonsai trees. We had a chance to meet Bum-Young Sung, the founder; we found him humble and totally committed to this project.
Fantastic garden! It was nice meeting Bum-Young Sung too. My friends and I had a great time exploring the legendary garden. We took about 2 hours and admission fee is 15,000 won.
Garden was beautifully laid out with lots of bonsai to look at, starting the statues, rocks, beautiful, pathways, fish, a nice place to have refreshments, with a tower that overlooked the garden so you had a really great view of the property. We met the owner of the property who, at an advanced age, was still working. It was a pleasure to see him and tell him what we thought of it; although he couldn’t understand English. I think he got the idea though. It’s well worth a visit to go to this place if you happen to be on Jeju island
This is such a beautiful garden, met the founder as well and he was so sweet!
Left with wisdom! Definitely worth the trip (entrance fee was 15k won). Will come back, bringing along my mum since she is a fan of history, philosophy and just plain good bonsais! We even managed to take a selfie with the founder, he is a very nice and kind man that approached us first asking us where we are from.
What a lovely place The bonsais were very interesting. Some in flower but most not Grounds laid out well Had the pleasure to meet the creator, Sung, Bum-Young. A fine elderly gentleman still working and caring fir the grounds and bonsai trees There’s a shop there along with a cafe. Also enhancing the visit Definitely a thing to do in Jeju island
The atmosphere was good with good and friendly owners with everyplace to sit looks like an antique wooden structure…..
We travelled throughout South Korea and Japan for one month and the Spirited Garden was the most beautiful garden we had seen. It is a medium sized garden, not large, but we allowed ourselves to slowly wander and it's beautiful focus on healing and refuge as you walk through it is felt. It's meticulously maintained, has many Jeju Island volcanic rock structures, bridges, archways, gates, world's largest dolharbang, 2 large waterfalls and large koy ponds, bronze swings, so it's also a nice place for children. The garden includes signs with a short description of the technique for growing bonsai trees and his philosophical view to everyday life. A UNESCO world heritage site. The café is a tall round 2 level Jeju volcanic rock building filled with a lot of beautifully crafted wood furniture to allow you to enjoy tea or a single hand ground dripped coffee from the world's top three locations, as well as pottery, jewellery, high quality hats made in Korea and books from the builder and farmer of this garden, Seong Beom-yeong, who was a humble older man who greeted us with the warmest smile and a warm visit. The whole experience for me was touching, and such a lovely memory that I have taken home to Canada with me. I bought my Mom his interesting book for Christmas (he wrote a note in it for her) that has been translated to English about his life story, his story of building this garden and curating bonsai trees while philosophically relating it to life. I look forward to reading the book also. This was our favourite stop on Jeju Island.🌳
Very pretty curated garden. Snowing in winter day after Christmas adds to the charm. Met the founder who still remains healthy and attentive to tourists.
beautiful bonsai plants and the whole landscape was brought together by the founder. it was calming and peaceful, which heals the soul
the place was absolutely sensational. so much knowledge was present there to lead other’s who may have a hard time finding their foot, understanding what the true meaning of life.Every signboard, there is a hidden message in the bottom that translates the growth of plants to the growth and development of not only you yourself but your family included.I found this very meaningful. and the wide variety of languages provided makes it so easy to understand. rlly recommend coming here!
Nice peaceful garden with beautiful bonsai plants, different trees and lovely ponds with fishes. My 13 yo son loves the place a lot!
Beautiful gardens with stunning bonsai and peaceful water features. It feels like a quiet escape from the busier parts of the island + we got to meet the amazing 89 years old founder Mr. Sung
My favorite place on jeju! Magical and relaxing - highly recommend for a stroll and coffee. Really cool trees and the owner is amazing
A calm and peaceful garden focussed on trees and bonsai. Nice landscaping with waterfalls and pools with lots of koi carp but not the place to visit if you're seeking planting and flowers. The bonsai in particular are impressive, especially the fruit trees. However, it's pretty small and the 15,000W entry fee high. We weren't in there much more than 30 mins.
Great meditative environment. Awesome work with bonsai trees. Worth the stop if you are in Jeju island in Korea. Plan enough time to wander through the whole park.
Cheap and a very pleasant garden, the chairman of the garden came by and spoke with us about his experiences and who has visited the garden.
A beautiful garden area which is the lovechild of the famous Bum-young Sung who was there in the information center on my visit. We were lucky enough to meet him. The garden is a blend of pond, bonsai, sculpture, tropical plants and a beautiful waterfall. The pond houses a wealth of carp which can be fed for a small fee. Books are for sale as well as souvenirs, and a cafe is near the entrance. Plenty of information about how the area has developed over the years is available as well as a stunning viewpoint to oversee the whole place Free to park but ticketed entrance. Would recommend a visit if you're passing.
Beautiful, maintained gardens. Very peaceful and lovely walks. I met the man who created this garden. Very humble and nice man.
Beautiful garden and very peaceful, clearly a lot of thought and care has gone into designing and maintaining it. We met the Chairmen, Sung Bum-Young, at the lookout tower. He is a very kind and gentle old man, who has clearly dedicated a large part of his life to the Spirited Garden. It is very sweet. I wrote this review for him.
This place was so tranquil, I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was so lovely to walk through the garden and appreciate both its beauty and the skill it takes to cultivate such a place. There’s also a cute cafe there with a great view of the garden and ponds where you can feed koi fish. 10/10 would recommend.
