Special thanks to Mr. Jisoo Kim at the Phoenix Island Resort (Check-in) front desk. We were tourists who happened to visit Phoenix Island after exploring the Aqua Planet (Aquarium) and enjoying the beautiful scenery. When we were unable to get a taxi through K.ride due to peak-hour demand, Jisoo kindly offered to help. He made several attempts to call for a taxi and eventually managed to secure one for us. Although we were not resort guests, he was patient, friendly, and went out of his way to assist us. We truly appreciate his kindness and excellent hospitality. Thank you, Jisoo!

This hotel needs to be catered for English visitors a little more. There were no instructions around for Western visitors making it difficult have a happy stay. Maps were given in Korean, toilet usage was not written in English. We booked the ocean suite and were very disappointed. The view was lovely, but not an ocean. The room was so dated, kitchen had no cutlery, 3 small plates and small cups. It was not serviced daily so no refresh of coffee or towels. We tried to book a golf cart and were told to come in, yet when we came in, the last buggy was being hired by a big group. This hotel was so busy, the pool was chaotic and you had to 'pay' for a pool chair. I have never seen this in my life. It smelled badly of mould too. The gardens are neglected and yet I have no idea how this has happened as the place has so much potential, and you pay a fortune for nothing really, not even housekeeping.
DO NOT STAY. The facilities are literally falling apart. The place is in serious, serious disrepair. Inside and outside. The hallways feel haunted because of the tearing wall paper and stained and peeling carpet. You could tell there were a bunch of water leaks from the stains in the ceiling. Maybe even mold from the appearance. We walked into our room and they were dusty and smelled of chlorine. We asked for a different room and it wasn’t better. We asked for a refund and drove an hour and a half to a different resort that surprisingly didn’t cost that much more and was much better.
We didn’t stay here but we got lost and found our way here. We asked the reception and she very kindly arranged for a buggy to bring us back to our parking compound. The exceptional service makes me want to return to experience the full hospitality at this hotel on my next trip.
I have somewhat mixed feelings about this hotel. Pros: - amazing location, you can go for sunrise and sunset hikes with stunning views - kids club, my daughter loved it - plenty of parking space - big CU in the hotel lobby - huge rooms that could accommodate big families Cons: - the rooms are pretty outdated - hotel corridors are so run down, they look scary Overall this is a great stop over point for 1-2 nights but for the price charged I think the condition of rooms and the hotel common areas should be improved.
