Communication is good and guide on time. My guide was Irvan. I am a 64yo woman and unused to private tours. From the start, I was made comfortable and safe. The walking portions were hot but so worth it to experience this massive city and I would definitely feel comfortable on the public transport. I had the best time, lots of things to look at, some snacks and he even carried my backpack after I bought some crackers in the markets (heavy). Thank you so much for a wonderful introduction to Jakarta . If I had time, I would take another tour with this company. Very highly recommended.
Really great experience walking and busing through Jakarta with my guide. A wonderful, highly recommended experience where you see a few highlights of the city, learn about Java and interact directly with locals. Do note that the walking tour itself is about 4 hours in total, outside of any transportation time. Because it's Jakarta and because I was coming from the airport area, it took me about 2hours to get to the starting point and 2 hours to get back to my hotel in the airport area. I was picked up and dropped off, which was nice.
We had a terrific day with Ivan showing us Jakarta on a full day walking tour. China Town and Batavia by bus and then into the city by train. The only way to get around this massive and congested city is by public transport and Ivan was a wiz at getting us on and off the transport network. As we had already been to some sites the day before Ivan adjusted the itinerary to help give us the most from this day trip. Thoroughly recommend
An interesting and relaxed day with Ivan as a guide. His English was excellent and he helped me with my bahasa. It was informative with lots of interesting anecdotes. He was good company, polite and helpful. Sharon. 🙂
This guided tour allowed us to discover Jakarta's most iconic and historically significant locations using public transportation very efficiently. Ivan is a very pleasant and attentive guide. I recommend this tour as a first introduction to Jakarta.
Great tour that covered all the important sights of Jakarta. Everything was well organized and the route was very interesting, especially using public transportation like a local. The tour guide Ivan did an amazing job – very knowledgeable, friendly, and flexible. He also took my individual needs into account and made sure I got back on time. Highly recommended!
Came off a cruise ship looking for a more personal experience for our day in Jakarta. We were met by our guide at the port and he steered us onto buses, trains and , as needed, Grab cars to move around. Because of the time taken to travel between stops, and the crowds, the time at stops often felt rushed and we missed a few things that might have been nice to see. There was no time for a break for coffee/ toilets, which surprised us. Highlights were the puppet making workshop and the huge Mosque. We did get an up close and personal experience! Our guide Ivan answered our various questions, as best he could and was very respectful of our desire to get back by a specific time. An excellent way to see a busy and sometimes chaotic city.
I didn't expect much through this walking tour, but it turned out great. The guide was so good at choosing the public transportation, so we can get from one place to the others in a very efficient way. Istiqlal Mosque and Cathedral are definitely stunning, the connection between Chinatown and Batavia and the quick historical background is definitely more than enough for tourists. That way, I can enjoy Jakarta in a different and more respectful ways. Tuk tuk (Bajaj) ride was fun, Transjakarta is perfectly integrated, the commuter train is always on time. What more do you want?
I had a tour with Ivan, and it was a great introduction to Jakarta. We touched all the important landmarks, especially Chinatown and the Old Town (Kota Tua), he was a great conversation partner and was happy to go along in trying some coffee with me!
I had a one on one tour to visit Kota Tua and Taman Fatahillah, Makutharama Puppet Studio with a bonus puppet show, Chinatown where we had a nice lunch, then over to the National Monument and Istiqlal Mosque. My guide Ivan was friendly and excellent at navigating us around with public transport. He was highly knowledgeable with the history of these places and open to whatever questions I had. Overall it was a fun and enjoyable tour--thanks Ivan!
This was the best day. Highly recommend if you want to see Jarkata from a local perspective. The public transport, visits to many places and the chance to see things that an ordinary tour would not provide. Be prepared for walking and steps and have a sense of adventure and you’ll love it. I did!
The tour of Jakarta was full of local sites and historic information Hanny, our guide was friendly, knowledgeable and flexible with what we wanted to see It was great to experience Jakarta from more of a local perspective, trains, buses and tuk tuk. Local food and culture, everything was great 👍✅🏆❤️ Well done to Ferdy and Hanny for good organisation and a fun and safe tour. Don and Kathy Australia
If possible, I like to use public transport when I travel to a new city as it makes it much more real. This trip did not disappoint: we travelled on Miktotrans Microbuses, TransJakarta buses, trains and Bajaj (tuk tuks). Ivan was really knowledgeable and answered any and all questions about Jakarta and Indonesia and I don’t think I would have had the confidence to attempt to use the transport system by myself. Ivan adapted the tour, as my hotel was not very central. We didn’t exactly follow the itinerary and it is more about visiting sites rather than going into sites, (although we did go into a puppet studio), but if you don’t have much time, it’s a good way to see a lot of Jakarta, not just the tourist sites. This tour is much better value if more than one of you take it. For me it was good value as I was the only one on the tour and Ivan is really personable and easy to get on with.
Enjoyed a great day getting around the busy city of Jakarta. I had a great guide Ivan who was friendly, knowledgeable and made the day work well. We travelled around by various buses, trains even a rickshaw. We saw the main sights and it felt a good way to get a feel for the city in one day. I would recommend this tour.
Agung is a very knowledgeable and courteous guide. He understands the history of Indonesia very well and his English language is exceptional. We visited important areas and he explained each area very well. The walking gave us opportunity to get closer to the local people and using public transportation was a fun experience. I highly recommend using this service for those with limited time in Jakarta.
For those who want to discover Jakarta I can only recommend really nice trip. You’ll take taxi, private chauffeur and train. All with your guide. Mine was ANJUNG. So kind and really helpful. You can ask all the questions you want about Jakarta. He has the answers. TIP TOP!
My guide Haider was impressively knowledgeable about the history of Indonesia and Jakarta and the love for his city and people shines through. I really enjoyed the walking tour and taking the various modes of transport was a great introduction to using the public transport system. Haider was warm, open and generous with his insights and I would highly recommend this tour.
It was a fun, educational hike. Our guide (Gibran) was able to tell specific details about the sights. Also a big compliment for our guide on this tour and not to forget our driver Mr. Khalim.
My daughter and I took the tour with Hanny. She was lovely. She came to pick us up at the hotel and accompanied us all morning to see the most significant parts of the city. She handles public transport wonderfully: train, bus, tuk-tuk, minibus. She also had a lot of patience since my English is quite poor, but we managed to understand each other very well. We hadn't planned on stopping in Jakarta and the gift was meeting Hanny and the city with her. If you go to Jakarta, I recommend that you go with her to take a tour. You won't regret it.
A whole day by public transport and walking and seen the main sights of Jakarta. Gibran took a long time and had an answer to all my questions. Very nice and informative day and because you are in public transport you feel just a little less of a tourist.
We had a wonderful day tour in Jakarta and loved it! Our guide was excellent – very friendly, competent and with great knowledge of the city. Thanks to him, we have gained exciting insights into large and multifaceted Jakarta. The tour was well organized, varied and very informative. We particularly liked the mixture of historical sights, cultural highlights and vibrant city life. Overall a great experience that we can absolutely recommend! Thank you for this great tour!
