First day of check-in, and already facing three issues at once: • The coffee machine water container had visible white residues and a strong unpleasant smell. • The room telephone was not functioning. • The weighing scale was dead. This level of room preparation is honestly surprising for a hotel carrying a 5-star standard. Seriously, this is supposed to be a 5-star hotel?
Stayed at Wyndham Palembang from March 20–23 March 2026 The experience was disappointing. The first room (1001) had a musty, humid smell. After moving to room 709, the issues got worse. The key card didn’t work, and I had to go up and down to the reception three times (around 30 minutes, slow elevator, with a fussy child) before they finally sent a technician — only to find out the door lock battery was dead. Room maintenance was clearly lacking: - Sink drain not functioning - Refrigerator not cold (drinks went bad) The receptionist was not helpful, showed no urgency, and lacked basic hospitality. Only positive note: the bellboy and houskeppingwas helpful during the room transfer. Overall, poor maintenance and poor service handling. Definitely not the standard expected.
One sentence: I’m not intending to go back here. DOESN’T SEEM LIKE A FIVE STAR HOTEL. Look, the prices aren’t cheap, so I expected better service. I have some bones to pick with this place: 1. I stayed with my family of four and booked WELL IN ADVANCE. We requested a connecting room; my younger sibling is disabled and we really needed to work altogether to take care of him. But to our shock, they placed us in two different rooms that were far from each other, albeit the same floor, imagine that we had to go back and forth to one another’s room to take care of him properly. 2. There were so many miscommunications amongst the staff that made me feel crazy and questioned my sanity if we have been hearing or saying things wrong. For example, we asked during check in whether we got free breakfast or not. The receptionist said we do get free breakfast although we didn’t book for it. I thought they were making up for how they couldn’t get us a connecting room or what not. But during breakfast, they said that wasn’t the case. So the receptionist that checked us in didn’t tell us the correct information. There were other cases similar to this that made me question whether this is a five star hotel or not. Let’s get to some good things about the hotel: 1. The furnishing of the room is nice, the rooms are clean too. But for a five star hotel, why are the towels so thin and small? 2. Breakfast resto is pretty spacey. The food is OK, a good amount of variety, with ok taste; could be better but not bad. 3. It is connected to a mall and is nearby some entertainment places like a waterpark and a bird park. All in all, the staff is just not up to par with what a five star hotel should be.
Room is built with good design and material yet there are lots of improvement needed. Calling front desk (0#) is a very very long response. They simply do not pick up. Asking for trolley is not a different. Never come. And finally i just bring my bags one by one to lobby. One size. White Towel is old and yellow-ish. Cheap small plastic bottle soap and shampoo
