Amazing location, nearby nagoya hill and other malls and cafes. Very near harbour bay too.
Spacious rooms and comfy, clean beds.
Only gripe is that the sinks and bathtub drained slowly so I had to wait a bit or it'll flood. Otherwise very nice.
Have not tried the jacuzzi and pool and massage services, but the breakfast was decent and many options provided. The in house kitchen is quite pricey considering the surrounding.
Receptionist and all staff were very friendly. Good hospitality. Nice ambience. Good choices in breakfast. Only bad thing is Aircon is central. Could not turn off. Got headache
Room is big but dated. Free coffee, tea and water everyday. Housekeeping is good, fresh towels everyday. Strange that it gives only 1 hand towel? Otherwise bathroom amenities all good. Breakfast was good, variety daily. We were usually there at after 9am and most food weren't replaced. So if you want more choices go earlier.
Stayed 4 nights here. I have been staying at various hotels around batam. First time trying out planetholiday. Even though it is rated as a 4-star hotel, it is far from a standard 4-star hotel in terms of its facilities, cleanliness, service and most importantly its location.
It is not near any massage or beauty care outlets, foodcourts and/or popular cafe/night life clubs. Going anywhere requires prearranged transport and if it is raining, taxis/grabcar/gocar may not be available.
The whole hotel is very old (more than 20 years) and poorly maintained. Some lifts are not working. Lobby toilets have no handsoap. Room showers are the unmovable old type, tab water is dirty, after shower, the whole toilet floor is wet. Requests for additional floor towels are met with “need to pay extra”.
My worst nightmare was my breakfast on my last day there. There was an old chinese man who is sitting in the dining room with both his legs up on the chair while people were eating next to him. When i reported this to the working staff, they did not do anything but told me that the old man was “their boss”. As a 4-star hotel, they have to meet certain professional criteria from PHRI Jakarta. I am sure sitting with your legs up in the dining room even if it is from the boss himself, is not one of them. This simply shows the lack of professionalism in the service staff and hotel service culture. Would you want to stay in an old dilapidated hotel like this ?
Our room was quite large with a comfortable bed and pillows. The shower was hot and the pressure good, albeit the glass doors were a bit cronky. The breakfasts were varied and plentiful and the staff helpful and friendly. We walked to several nearby cafes for our coffee fix, but you need to be aware of the open manholes on some footpaths.
