It’s a huge ship. And staying in it really felt like an experience of staying in a ship. The staff are all dressed as if they are working in a ship. The design and the signages too. Rooms are big, and the massage parlour was an interesting experience. The breakfast menu is very elaborate. But the food could have been better given the price point. But it’s a good stay for us overall
The property is located at a central location, everything is nearby. Rooms require renovation at some parts. Overall nice place to stay
Stay in this elegant hotel and the room is clean and spacious, morning buffet with varieties of dishes and quite nice. There is a Spa at level 3 and swimming pool with gym as well. Nice facilities. The only disappointed thing is the location is too far away from city area for shopping and dinning. So need to book Grab every time. Unlike some hotel whereby they are located just beside walking distance for shopping mall like BCS, Grand Batam mall etc etc...
That's maybe the reason why the hotel provide shuttle service to those places but useless to me as it has timing and not as and when you wanted to go can go.
Unfortunately many issues happened during my 1 night stay.
1. Booked an executive suite and requested for a non-smoking room. At time of check in, was informed that all non-smoking rooms were full, and had to take a smoking room. Disappointing, since I’ve never encountered another hotel that regarded smoking preferences so casually.
2. I requested to take a downgraded non-smoking family room, forgoing the difference in fees paid. I didn’t request for any refund or perks. However, the front desk offered to give me 1 extra free breakfast. We came as a couple and had no use for the 1 free breakfast. Disappointing since the front desk somehow thought she did us a great service to offer us something we didn’t need.
3. In the room, electricity tripped immediately when we adjusted the aircon temp. Technician managed to resuscitate it. But after 1 hour of trying to cool the room, the thermo gun read 28 degrees from the cooling vents for the temp set at 10 degrees. Aircon wasn’t working. Disappointing.
4. Initiated to change the room at the front desk. Had to explain the entire situation in order not to sound like a difficult customer. Managed to change to another room. Disappointing that nobody was tracking our situation the entire time.
5. Aircon in new room worked. Cockroaches and insect remnants found in room and in ceiling. Disappointing with the cleanliness.
6. What was supposed to be a non-smoking room could somehow smell the stench of cigarette smoke throughout the night. Disappointing.
7. Breakfast held so much promising. But food was bland, looked unappealing and was generally cold. Disappointing end to this stay.
Wish I could rate this place higher given the unique architecture. But it’s painfully obvious how neglectful the hotel was. Would not recommend at all.
If there is one hotel to stay, you must check out Pacific Palace Hotel. The ambience, the service, the lobby bar, the restaurants was absolutely awesome! A big shout-out to Pak Ridho (reception) & Ms. Adena (Athena's coffee shop). You both made our stay here so wonderful! Banyak terimah kasih! 💘 from 🇸🇬.
