I spent two wonderful weeks at Prayas Yoga Retreat, where I had the opportunity to volunteer, practice Seva, teach yoga and Yoga Nidra. From the very beginning, I felt so welcome, comfortable, and at home. The accommodation was lovely, with a huge, beautiful room, and the food was absolutely delicious, healthy, and prepared with so much care. What made this experience especially special was the opportunity to connect more deeply with the local culture and experience an authentic side of life and yoga here. I felt very free, supported, and trusted throughout my stay, which allowed me to share my own knowledge, contribute through Seva, and grow both personally and spiritually. The therapeutic yoga offered here is truly something special and unique. The quality of the sessions is outstanding, and it is amazing how quickly you can notice positive changes in your body. Within just a few days, I could already feel a significant improvement in my flexibility, mobility, and overall body awareness. I am leaving with a heart full of gratitude, beautiful memories, new experiences, and so much inspiration. I can wholeheartedly recommend Prayas Yoga Retreat – whether you are looking to volunteer and experience Seva, deepen your yoga practice, explore therapeutic yoga, or simply enjoy the beautiful offerings of this place. 4.5 stars! We did an overnight retreat. 5 for the kindness and hospitality by Mahendra’s family (food was amazing, cooked by Tepan and his wife!) 5 for the yoga and breathing. We so appreciated their kindness and the therapeutic yoga (individually focused with props and assistance) which we did twice - it was incredibly grounding. We rounded down as we provided consent once at the beginning for our pictures to be taken, however found the camera on us often without us knowing (during yoga or breathing with eyes closed) which felt a bit off-putting due to the degree and how often we found the cameras on us. This took us away from an internal process, so if it’s not something you want, we recommend stating that at the beginning. The yoga retreat is a growing business model particularly for foreign tourists to support the yoga center and provide accessible yoga to the community. Note that because of this, there is a significant push to leave a review. If you are looking for a comfortable space and want to support a family business, we highly recommend Prayas Yoga!
I had such a wonderful experience at this yoga studio. The atmosphere is peaceful, welcoming, and perfect for slowing down and reconnecting with yourself. The yoga sessions were thoughtfully guided, and I especially appreciated how the practice focused not just on the physical postures but also on breathing, mindfulness, and inner calm.
I had the pleasure of learning about Prayas Yoga while visiting Jaipur. During our time together, Mahendra shared his knowledge of yoga, Indian philosophy, history, and culture, adding a meaningful dimension to our experience. A particularly memorable moment occurred while visiting Amber Fort Palace. Knowing that my mother experiences back pain, he took a few moments to show her yoga postures and explain how they could be practiced to help with mobility and discomfort. It was a brief and spontaneous interaction, but also a thoughtful example of his knowledge and genuine desire to help others through yoga. I especially appreciated his passion and his ability to explain its principles in an approachable and engaging way. Our conversations offered insight into yoga beyond simply physical exercise, including briefly touching on its history, philosophy, and connection to Indian culture. I hope to experience a full yoga retreat in the future as I am motivated to return to the beautiful city of Jaipur.
This studio exceeded all my expectations. The prompt-based system makes every yoga practice clear, accessible, and deeply enriching, whether you’re a beginner or an experienced practitioner. Mahendra is an exceptional teacher. His knowledge, guidance, and authenticity go far beyond the physical practice, creating a truly meaningful experience. For international visitors looking for genuine yoga, this place is a hidden gem. I’m deeply grateful for everything I learned here and highly recommend it to anyone seeking authentic teachings in Jaipur. Thank you Guru Ji 🙏🏽 I can’t wait to come back

Visiting from Australia, my friend and I had an incredible experience in Jaipur with Mahendra. We enjoyed a personalised one-hour private session where he was attentive to our needs, guiding us with genuine kindness and care. The therapeutic yoga was truly wonderful, and the setting was so peaceful. Mahendra is an exceptional teacher—perfect for beginners, not only for the practice itself but also for the rich history and background he shares. The facilities are well-equipped to support everyone, including those with health concerns, with tools and modifications to suit individual needs. Thank you so much for such a memorable and meaningful experience. Truley recommend, Namaste🙏
I joined a group yoga session and then stayed for some 1-1 additional stretch and relaxation opportunities. I have done yoga before but do not practice regularly (that’s going to change after this experience) and the yogi accommodated to match my abilities. I was taken care of so well and would love to attend regularly if I could! A truly awesome experience.
I had a great yoga class at Prayas Yoga Retreat. I had the chance to try multiple styles of yoga over the course of one hour, and it was engaging, intense and fun. I practice yoga regularly and i found the class just difficult enough for my level. My instructor gave me personalized tips and he was very friendly. I would definitely recommend the studio. Thank you !
My brother and I had the chance to engage in yoga for the first time. Initially, I was reluctant to participate, but after receiving step-by-step guidance from our instructor, it transformed into a wonderful, calming, and ideal way to begin our morning in Jaipur. It is a must-try if you find yourself in the vicinity, though it is not as simple as it appears!
Very peacful place, amazing teacher, Bety good for beginners not only for the practice but also for the history Background. Their facilities can support everyone even if you have some helath problems they have Equipment/tools to support each and everyone. Thank you very much for this great morning lesson.
Amazing experience and location for anyone looking for yoga session in Jaipur. Vimal guided me with experience and patience, thanks for your kindness and hospitality beyond expectations!
The pranayama session was nice, and the asanas were helpful, but I was expecting an actual yoga class, not just a stretching session. I think that was probably a mix-up with my travel planner, not their fault. The only thing I didn’t love was that the owner was a bit too pushy about leaving reviews and even wanted me to record a short interview and statement, which felt like a bit much. Overall though, it’s a good spot if you just want to stretch and recover from jet lag
I highly recommend Prayas Yoga Retreat. In additon to paying attention to each details for his guest, the owner Mahendra and his family made me feel home and like a family member. Their house is beyond comfortable and the food is delicious. From amazing daily yoga sessions with highly skilled instructors, cooking lessons, tourist visit un the gorgeous Jaipur city center and palaces, to participation to a religious festival, I felt very honored to be completely immersed in the fascinating Indian and Hindu culture. I feel transformed after such an experience and I am really looking to come back with my family.
Very warm welcome. The session was adapted for the 4 of us and was very kindly organized overnight. It was a good introduction for a beginner session. The session on the terrace facing the rising sun was both soothing and energizing to start the day in great shape. The only downsides were the street noise and the somewhat expensive price that the owner justified by the presence of two coaches. But we learned afterward that one of the coaches was actually a volunteer. In conclusion, I recommend
I participated in a 6-night 7-day yoga retreat. It was a great experience. We were well welcomed and we felt at home. The room and the accommodation are very comfortable. The food is delicious. I recommend it!
We did a 6-night / 7-day yoga retreat at Prayas Yoga Retreat. A wonderful experience where we were able to discover the different practices of yoga as well as meditation. The accommodation and the food are truly high quality. I highly recommend this experience
Namaste! I spent a week at Prayas Yoga Retreat in October. We were warmly welcomed by Mahendra and Pooja. This place is quiet and peaceful. It was a nice mix of yoga and meditation sessions. The yoga therapists are simply world-class, professional, helpful and always in a good mood. The delicious meals were freshly cooked daily by Pooja and consisted of healthy and natural ingredients. The program was rounded off by a mandala workshop, music, henna art, an Ayurvedic massage and an interesting trip to Amber Fort. If you are looking for a place to relax, this is exactly quiet. We can recommend the Prayas Yoga Retreat. Thanks to the whole team.:)
Fine introduction to yoga under professional guidance. On the beautiful terrace we got a varied introduction for an hour. The yoga room itself and the guest rooms looked very professional.
