Tour guide did not show up at meeting place and was not responsive to texts or calls. This is a SCAM!
The tour guide never showed up. I arrived at the specified location 10 min early (7:50 am), and waited until 8:35 am. I tried calling the tour provider contact number, but it wasn't in service. I contacted Trip Advisor/Viator and they were also unable to get in touch with the tour provider. Really disappointed. The tour provider really should provide a valid, working number. I have requested a refund.
Requested a refund because the guide didn't show up for this tour. Fortunately, the people at the hostel where we were to meet were very nice and help me to make other plans. They too were disturbed that their location was being used by BackpackIndia. THe phone number and contact details were bogus too. So I wasn't able to confirm or get in touch with anyone associated wit this tour. Don't get scammed - do not book this tour.
Definitely worth every penny! Our guide was amazing. His story telling was engaging, full of facts and he made it so much fun. As a solo I also felt at ease as he was very friendly, very personable and make sure to speak to every single person during the walks in between. You do walk quite a bit so I would suggest wearing trainers.
I did this tour when I was staying in Jaipur and I LOVED IT! It was such an informative and educational tour that explored the history of the Pink City and Jaipur. I learned so many incredible facts and saw some amazing things that I wouldn’t have experienced without going on the tour. Shrey (the tour guide) had such a wealth of knowledge of the city and could answer every question I had on the tour. The guides were friendly and helpful and really made the experience incredible. I highly recommend doing this tour if you want to see the city from a local and historic point of view!!
I spent time with Shrey and Ajay on their walking tour through Jaipur. First off, they are fun guys to be around and kept the tour fun with their humor. They were also very knowledgeable about the city and its history, pointing out different things about the architecture and taking us to places we wouldn't be able to go without them. We stopped for chai and tried some interesting foods along the way. I would greatly recommend this tour for an insiders look.
Shrey was a really good and well versed tour guide! He seemed very knowledgeable and made the tour a fun experience. Enjoyed walking through the streets of Jaipur while learning about the culture and heritage. Would recommend to anyone who is interested in knowing more/seeing what it has to offer.

Funny and really knowglable walking tour He was really careful with the shedules to allow us not to miss anything . Gave us enough time to take a Masala chai, which also allowed us to absorb all the information about the city while walking Great informative tour with amazing view of streets of jaipur amazing walking tour, It was like a story to us. We were lucky to have him as our guide for 2 tours! Thank you!
What it takes to discover a city?A cities true worth is discovering its historic corners. And what better way then to discover it than by taking a peek into its past .Well this tour satiated my lust for discovery.Surely would recommend experiencing it!
Shrey was a great tour guide, showing us hidden gems in the side streets such as the utensil 'factory' and the temple. When you're walking around India it's hard to understand the goings on of the temple but everything was explained. As an architecture student he's really well placed to describe everything in the Pink City and fully recommend doing a tour for a few hours. The spot he took us to to view Hawa Mahal can't be beaten. Recommend fully!
Whenever I travel, I make sure I do go for walking tours if available. Since Jaipur is more about heritage and culture, I choosed this walk. As the tour started, we were given a brief intro to the history of Jaipur, which in itself was a good start, to get me onboard. Then we went from temples to havelis, getting notes on minute details of all the elements there. It was fun, as how detailed it was. Details that I would have definitely missed otherwise. Sure go for this tour and this tour leader shrey, who takes your vibes instantly and before you know, is your friend :)
I came for a case study in Jaipur. Being an architect student, Jaipur was always in list of go-to place. But since I was new in the city, I thought to take a heritage tour and know the city in more closer way. I booked a too with backpackindia and shrey was our tour leader. He himself was an architect student , so what better you could ask. He took us to the streets, explained the in and outs of architecture of the houses and everything. It was really worth going, enough to add this long review 😅
I was bit worried about the trip to jaipur, when we came down to jaipur i was suggest by friend to join heritage walk by backpack india. Great walk, guide has great knowledge about art history heritage and architecture. Recommend please join them
I had a wonderful walk with Shrey. He was very knowledgeable about the city, and you could tell he and his team put a lot of work together to properly curate the tour. Definitely worth contacting Shrey and Backpackers India when in Jaipur!
The tour was really amazing. The tour guide shrey had an excellent knowledge about the history, heritage and architecture of Jaipur. Being an architecture student I really enjoyed the walk, knowledge about the jaipur architecture and a good company. Recommended👌🏻
It was a pleasure to walked with Shrey at the morning in Jaipur city. He showed me the city form another perspective, shared a lot of interesting stories about city in funny way. He have a lot of knowledge about Jaipur and I don't realised when the tour was ended, 3 hours was like a 3 minutes 😁😎 I couldn't wait for evening food tour with Shrey :) All the best Mateusz
I booked this tour hoping to have a nice tour of the pink city and learn something about it’s rich heritage. And this tour succeeded in delivering the same! Shreyaskar had been a very informative and knowledgeable guide on Jaipur history and treats you to a variety of interesting things to observe and do. I immensely enjoyed experiencing those core 'secret' parts of the city and interacting with locals during the tour. The food delicacies that we tried we mouth watering which I still remember till date. I must say the love with which the vendors or the chefs in big shops serve food in pink city is full of love and flavors which all would love. I highly recommend taking this tour.
Shrey was the perfect guide through the old city of Jaipur, he took us around the quieter streets and gave a thorough but interesting explanation of Jaipur's history. There were even some food stops along the way :) I would recommend anyone coming to Jaipur to wake up early and join this tour, you won't regret it. The best way to see the pink city.
So got to take my colleagues on this amazing heritage walk, they all enjoyed a lot and had the best experience. Thanks to the best guide.
Experiencing Jaipur from the eyes of architecture student was a amazing experience , walk was all about art, heritage, architecture and in total it was a great experience. Highly recommended.
It was really an informative session. It was really cool to know about the heritage and cultures of jaipur. Amazing work.keep it up!
If you guys are visiting Jaipur and want to explore things other than the touristic site alone, Jaipur heritage tour by Backpack India is highly recommended. This walk enabled me to go around and learn about Jaipur's culture, heritage and local delicacies. The fact that the tour guide was an architecture student made this tour a more informative experience. While walking around the city we covered some of the famous spots such as Tripolia Gate, Choti Chauped and some of the attractive markets of the city which made the tour more vibrant! It had been a very good tour overall and the immense knowledge that I gathered on this tour is extremely valuable which I would have not gathered otherwise. The heritage of Jaipur is mind blowing and is so rich!
The best guide in the town..a fun trip, makes you know about every little detail about the city. Covered all the important locations of the old city.
The heritage walk by Backpack India was hugely interesting and informative. The storyteller (guide) was knowledgeable, engaging, and paced the walk ideally. Being made aware of the heritage, art, culture and historical significance of the many monuments and buildings en route provided a fresh awareness of the Jaipur city. Knowing the vastu science behind construction of Jaipur city got me and the group surprised. I loved the way other people gelled up, thanks to the tour providers for this lifetime experience again. Also, how can I not mention the aroma of the tea from the famous street chai shops along the path of the walk. Loved this well curated experience.
Walking through Jaipur city's architecture and heritage and knowing about the first planned city of India - Jaipur had been such a great experience. Which I could have not cherished better than going on a Heritage walk tour with Backpack India. I opted for this tour when I came for a solo tour of the pink city and it was worth it. The storyteller was extremely friendly and informative! The way he explained about the architecture and the methods behind it got me mesmerized. I with a group of other travellers walked through the narrow lanes, watched the local oldest and the most beautiful temples and much more! Which is difficult to express in words! It had been a great tour which I highly recommend.
Never thought we would get a chance to travel Jaipur to its core. I visited jaipur with a group of friends in the month of January and I swear I never thought the heritage walk would be such an amazing experience! Initially, I just used to think that the city has nothing more than the touristic places like Hawa Mahal and Nahargarh fort. However, Backpack India proved it wrong. It had been a great experience to walk around the city, explore the old havelies, and delve into the art and culture of the city. My favorite part of the tour was meeting the locals and listening to their stories. It was eye opening and made me feel I am part of the society. The tour started swiftly from the Ajmeri gate which in itself is a great beauty depicting the talent of the people who built it. Overall it had been a great experience, and we will want to thank our tour guide to make it exceptional with his immense knowledge about the rich heritage of jaipur.
I am a solo girl traveller. On this tour it was fun and a very comfortable experience. Tour talks about heritage and detail architecture of the city. Walk is lead by an architecture student and he is really good with city history and funny stories. Highly recommended tour!!!!!!!!
I've been to Jaipur before but through this tour, I saw it with a whole new perspective. Shreyaskar is a great guide and he has an immense amount of understanding for the heritage, culture and history of the place. He took the tour to some places that we would have never got to know about as a tourists if we were not touring with him. We also got to taste the authentic foods through the tour. I highly recommend this to everyone.
