Harshit was knowledgeable and friendly. We enjoyed his commentary on the new and old cities. The food was extremely tasty and beautifully cooked. The lassi was especially sweet, refreshing and delightful. There was a fair bit of walking involved for our older mum.

We did the Jaipur street food tour with Lakshay on our first day in Jaipur. It was a great way to see some of the sights and make note of some places we would like to go back to during our stay. We felt very safe during the tour, the food was all vegetarian and fresh. We loved trying many different dishes and hearing Lakshay’s input on the food and how it is prepared. We were very full at the end of the tour!!
Lucky was my personal guide around the street food of the Pink City - not only was the food delicious, but Lucky was also very good company and super knowledgeable about Jaipur. Would definitely recommend as a fun way to have lunch!
we were a bit anxious doing a tour of local food given the potential for issues but we shouldn't have worried. The tour was fantastic, all the places were clean and the food very tasty. We sampled a wide variety of food and the guide was supper helpful and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend this.
Had some great eats with Harshit, our local guide. Most of the food in Rajasthan is fried - the climate isn’t suitable for a lot of fresh fruits and veggies - so just something to be aware of when booking this tour. That being said, it was a great way to explore the city and the local cuisine. Harshit took us to some local gems that I would not have been comfortable trying on my own. He was very knowledgeable about the Indian cuisine in general and described each dish in detail. The tour was very efficient/fast-paced and we made it to 5-6 different places in under 2 hours.
The tour was great! Our guide took us to several different places to taste typical Indian food. It was great to be able to walk through the streets of Jaipur, try the food, and learn more about each of them and the local culture. I highly recommend this experience!
The street food tour was very nice and fun! We went to many places around the Pink City, trying different options of salty food and a dessert. All the delicacies were pretty good and interesting! The guide was kind and friendly, as the whole service provided by the company. I definitely recommend it and would do it again another time!
My husband and I had a great time with Harshit. He was very pleasant and friendly and ensured we walked around the crazy streets of Jaipur safely! He explained each dish in detail and made sure we were full before the end of the night! We had to start asking for 1 serving instead of 2 so that we would be able to finish all the food items during the tour! Thanks for showing us how to eat like a local =) Jenn & Jon - Toronto, Canada
We had a fabulous tour with Harshit, tasting several different dishes and drinks. His English was excellent and he took us to a variety of vendors in the new and old cities. He offered to arrange an electric tuk tuk but we preferred to walk as we hadn’t had much opportunity to do this on our organised tours. He ensured we were able to cross the roads safely (impressive in itself!) and helped us to meet up with our car to get back to the hotel afterwards. He went out of his way to ensure we had a great experience and we had no ill effects from the food tasted. We would highly recommend this tour, particularly with Harshit as the guide - thank you for a wonderful afternoon.
Harshit was amazing, knowledgable, and personable. it was great getting the inside scoop of the city.
The tour was epic! Harshit led us around to truly local spots and we ate absolutely delicious stuff. He made things as spicy as we wanted and kept us engaged with his fun personality!
Food walking is a very good activity if you want to eat and learn about the main street foods of India. We ate a curry samosa that we hadn't eaten before! I loved! It is a good way to learn about the traditions and typical dishes of the area, as well as take the opportunity to ask any questions to the guide who accompanies you. :)
This tour have been fantastic for us, is what we have been looking for! Have a real indian experience tasting the food, is the best way to learn about traditions and culturals practices Who organize the tour knows how important is take the turist to safe and clean places, so we don't have afraid for our stomachs!
Would recommend! This food tour was incredibly fun, full of history and sooo tasty. Sunny our guide was fantastic, showing us hidden gems, meals that we would have not known were hiding, and did a great job at making us feel safe throughout our walk around old and new Jaipur. Sunny deserves praise for his deep insight into the history of the Pink City and his complex understanding of the food culture and the way it shapes his community. If you’re an adventurous eater (or a big fan of potatoes) I would highly suggest you give this tour a go!
Had a great time experiencing Jaipur’s street food with Monty! I was nervous to try the street food in India but Monty’s experience both as a chef and time spent exploring the city’s street food gave me complete confidence to try everywhere he took us to. The tour was a nice length and meant we could explore the city on foot! The food was authentic to the region so felt like we were eating like locals! Would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone who is looking for good and tasty street food, you’ll be in very safe hands with Monty!
We were really keen to experience authentic delicious Indian street food and came across Monty’s tour online. The tour was fantastic, it was a great mix between trying brilliant food and learning more about the history of Jaipur. We visited some amazing places (7 stops in total trying 9 dishes, so really do have a light breakfast!), and it was the first time on our trip we really felt we got truly integrated with the culture (we were on a planned tour before and only really ate in tourist traps), the tour gave us confidence for the rest of our holiday to explore more markets, street food etc by ourselves. Monty explained the dishes and ingredients and each place, he’s a trained chef, and was so helpful giving us restaurant recommendations for later in our trip too. A really genuine man. He also runs other activities as well (cookery classes, safari etc). Would highly recommend!
We had the most fantastic tour with Monty. He knows so much about the area and the history- and the food was DELICIOUS. Thanks so much
Surya provided our group from canada with a great tour of the unique street food Jaipur has to offer
We had such an amazing time with our brilliant guide StJohn (spelling). He did an amazing job describing all the food and interesting features on our walk. Ate so much yummy food we would otherwise have been a bit reluctant. Definitely can recommend and it’s just a quick tour at approximately 1.5 hours which is awesome for us. Loved it
What an incredible diversity of flavor. I’ve been in India for a few weeks now, and I have been aimlessly trying every street food and dish that I’ve come across. Monty was determined to find items I’d never even heard of before, and he succeeded. From Katchori (a local samosa like dish), an all natural Lassi, to Kesar Rabri (a whole milk desert that tastes unlike anything I’ve ever had before). The local diversity of food is incredible in Jaipur, and without him I likely would’ve only had a couple of the dishes by accident. His wealth of knowledge of the areas history and restaurants is even worth the tour itself.
This was a great tour! I was in streetfood heaven! Such a good way to learn about all the stalls and the food is all freshly made, no stomach issues with these places:) I am glad it was a walking tour (rather than by rickshaw)... you need to move your body with so much delicious food! Monty is a chef so he could tell a lot about the ingredients etc. This is a real plus, not many food tours have a trained chef as the guide I think. Also, his English is very good. If you have traveled to India before you know there can be a language barrier even with tour guides. Thanks, Monty!
The summary of the top restaurants in town. Every food was various and tasty. The guide, Monty is very informative about the ingredients and the story regarding the food.
This tour was our highlight of Jaipur - we got to visit lots of local places and try new dishes we would never dare try ourself. Keep an empty stomach as you will be full. Monty as a guide was very informative about Jaipur and had a really interesting story! Since the tour we have kept in touch and he has been super helpful throughout the rest of our travels in India.
Monty was a great host. He came with a wealth of experience, passion, and an interesting life journey that he made sure to weave into the tour. He is a true lover of flavors and cuisines and he used it well to pick some of the best street foods in the city. When you get a chance, definitely also take advantage of his home cooking class (or just home cooking). Restaurants are good, street foods are great, but nothing can beat an Indian home meal made with love.
The walking food tour with Monty was above and beyond what we expected it to be. Monty is very knowledgeable and kind. He has organized a tour that is a good balance of learning, walking, and eating. He has worked in tourism for years, and it shows. He was always watching out for us, even going as far to shepherd us across the street in busy Jaipur traffic. We have been on other walking tours in India, where it was difficult to hear because of the noise, but Monty always made sure we were in an area where it was easy to understand all of the info, which we appreciated. We now wish we were staying in Jaipur longer so we could try some of the other experiences that he offers, but we’ll have to come back and visit again. 10/10 would recommend this to anyone visiting Jaipur.
Monty took us around Jaipur to taste real street food. I felt confident walking around the city with him and tasted all the typical dishes, never tried before. All a pleasant surprise and I was not ill in the following days. In addition to the street tour, Monty gave us some historical hints about the city and answered all our questions. He traveled the world so he speaks good English. All positive!
The spices in the food make it really special. The flavors are strong with a touch of spiciness that even though it's spicy, you can't stop eating.
We really liked the street food tour. It really gives you the opportunity to try the different traditional dishes and without having to worry about knowing what you are ordering, the tea guide explains everything essential for you to enjoy! You won't stay hungry, I assure you!
The food and the guide. I really liked the experience in which we were able to try the main and believe the best street food in India, knowing what we are eating (because the guide is also a cook and explained all the dishes and also various sights, in which we passed). I really liked the experience and recommend it.
We did the tour without much expectation, but we were very positively surprised! The tour took almost 2 hours that I did not see pass. The Mounty has been very attentive since the beginning, told us a little about his entire background and how he worked out the tour and chosen the places where we would eat. He's a chef too, so he knew everything about dishes and spices. We talked throughout the tour about various subjects, and mainly removing doubts and learning curiosities about the daily life and culture of India, with the plus that, being local he still shared with us things from his personal life that allowed us to have a closer view of reality. At every stop we made to try some dish, he explained what it was, what it was made of, why that place was chosen. We were able to experience Indian cuisine by trying many different things, salty, sweets and drinks as well. Along the way he also went showing us some sights and features of the city that we would not know without a guide. I highly recommend!
My best experience in the food walk in Jaipur was certainly that we visited the most iconic places in Jaipur with a lot of history and antiquity Monty was a great guide who explained every detail of the history of the streets , places , monuments, food was very fun to see how each local had its technique to make this delicious food and the best thing is that everything was vegetarian and besides delicious we tried lassi , samosas and many more things that was amazing to try!!! I would definitely return with Monty for another tour of delicious food PS: all food is clean, rich and Monty always has antibacterial gel and wet towels for anyone who requires Thanks Monty!!!
We dive into the streets of Jaipur with our guide and pass through such strange and hidden places. The real Indian right in front of our eyes. An unforgettable and spicy experience!!!
